My Throwback Thursday piece will also be my Free Art Friday piece. It was inspired by A Young Girl Defending Herself Against Eros painted by William-Adolphe Bouguereau but I never quite finished it. I intended for Love to be wearing some Birkestocks and for this to actually be a diptych but completely lost the inspiration. It would be amazing if an artist found it tomorrow and wanted to finish these Birks! Source. 24x36" Oil on Canvas. 2008 Set in a canvas float frame. This painting was inspired by all the blonde haired young ladies that harnessed their fame under the Mouse. As I created the work I felt in this moment the Mouse was just about to share his power with the girl. Her tanned face is painted white to show her allegiance and celebrity is her reward. Upon completion I found it just as likely the Mouse needs the power of the young as it can't survive without them. I enjoy not knowing the truth behind the curtain and entertaining multiple possibilities.
