Rosemary couldn’t believe it had been ten years already. Time flew so quickly on the island, and as she grew more comfortable with herself over the last decade and began to enjoy her time there, she lost track of the time that passed. She was the happiest she had been in years, and never would she have imagined she’d find that happiness on the island. Never would she have imagined she’d be so confident with showing her other form or even herself, and she definitely would’ve never imagined that she would ever remarry. Elias had been such a positive influence in her life, he was the first person to flirt with her and the spark she felt during their first encounter hadn’t faded at all.
A reunion was in the works, and Rose was excited to get ready for it. At any other time in her life, she’d try her very best to blend in, to not be seen. But Elias had changed so much of how she thought about herself and now she couldn’t wait to be amidst the socializing. She sat up in bed and looked over to the man beside her, smiling to herself, he looked so peaceful. The redhead rested her head back on her pillow and moved closer to him, “Hey you, I think it’s time we got up don’t you think?” she hummed softly, running her freckled hands through his hair.
Elias and Rose hadn't been married for long, but it felt like they had known each other for the longest time. They completed each other, really. They had complimenting personalities. They hardly fought, and even then, they were completely civil about everything. They were almost the perfect couple, almost because no relationship is ever really perfect. In the beginning, it was a struggle for Elias to get Rose to see herself as he saw her. She had a lot of baggage from her first marriage and Elias worked his ass off to make their relationship wholesome, something meaningful and more powerful than what she had with her Ex-husband. However, he too had a lot of things to overcome in their relationship. Elias hadn't been in such a meaningful relationship before, he hadn't known that it was possible to love someone as much as he loved Rose, that there were people out there that could really complete you. It only made sense for them to marry, but of course, it took a bit for him to propose.
Regardless, they had a wonderful marriage and he always looked forward to waking up in the morning and seeing Rose next to him. He also liked waking up and seeing his wedding band on his finger. It reminded him just how lucky he was to have her in his life.
Elias feels her move close to him, running her hands through his hair and he stirs from his slumber. He lets out a yawn and turns on to his back to look at her with a smile.
"It's fairly easy to get ready. I think we should just....stay in bed for just a tad bit longer." He flips onto his side so he can fully face her, placing his hand on her cheek and letting his thumb caress her skin gently.
