What comes to your mind when you hear the word? If you asked me ten years ago, I would have told you that I see loyalty and love. I thought this despite the fact that I come from divorce parents. When I was a child, I always looked forward to the holidays. Yeah it might have been because school was closed for the occasion, but it was a time spent with my family. I would also see my aunts and my uncles, and I would hang out with my cousins. Those events meant so much to me. In fact, I would even take pictures. Today, holidays gatherings are smaller, and I guess because I am older I notice the family members who choose not to keep in touch. Nothing hurts more then seeing this. These days, I am going through so much with my family, and I just need this outlet. I wish that my words could change the minds of those who don't keep in touch. I understand that our family tree has been through so many storms, but the shape of our tree is all the reason to work on it. We're already lost leaves, and some of us are hardly attach. This is our tree, and I want to see it blooming. As result, I just type the words in hope something good will come from this. I can't make make leaves see my view when they are looking from branches of their own. However, I do know what I want for my future with those I call family. I want them to know I am here, and I will hold on through the storm. For what I see is not what I want for my brothers and sister. I don't want it for my future sister-in-laws or brothers-in-laws either. So I am here on the silent tree, and I ask you as you sit on your, what does family mean to you?
