Reflection
Studio 1 has been really enjoyable this semester. Andy’s lectures and workshops have been really interesting and have been one of my favourite studio classes this semester. when we were first introduced the food topic it seemed to be quite broad and it took me a while to wrap my head around the whole assignment but as the time went on it became more clear and was actually one of the most exciting classes as the brief was so open-ended and allowed me to express my individuality and to stretch the limits of the project unlike some of the other assignments we have been given this year. for the workshop studio with andy, our brief was to create a ‘recipe’. throughout the whole process of making/coming up with our recipe ideas, Andy encouraged us to be constantly developing our ideas. this is something I'm not used to as I usually stick with an idea and go with it. however now I think that I will start doing this for future assignments and projects as it really pushed me to push past my usual limits and I came up with a better idea than my very first original idea. The lectures have also been very stimulating and I have learnt a lot of things and artists that I have never heard about before which has opened me up to a whole new world of design that I am now so keen to research more into. both the studio classes and lectures have helped me grow as a designer and have encouraged me to think outside of the box and to stretch my design thinking.
