Woke to pouring rain. Ash went out early to go look at watches and came back to tell us it was bucketing down and not fun. The morning was therefore spent inside watching Bluey while we made plans. Eventually landing on Ueno. We were going to cab it, but then decided to grab three umbrella from the lobby and train it. Roma loved his umbrella, others walking in the street maybe not so much as he laughed maniacally swinging his umbrella around.
We got off at ueno and headed to the park we used to go to all the time. It’s changed a lot! But so much hasn’t. It was actually a beautiful walk through the park with our umbrellas and we headed the the national museum of nature and science. It was packed with school kids and others who had decided it was a good place to head to while it was raining. The museum was…fine. Like. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go see it. It’s like our Australian museum. Pretty small and a lot of exhibitions Roman didn’t care for so he just tore through it only interested in the dinosaurs and animals and even then we speed walked it. But it was an activity and Roman had a lot of fun and it go us to lunch and we headed to a little place above the park and got a beef udon set and some hot chips for the boy.
Then we took Roman to the 7 story toy store we used to go to called Yamashiroya. And the plan was to then walk around the Ameyoko markets but we keep forgetting how tiring touristing is for a little boy. And so we had to head back to the hotel for a little rest. The sun finally came out too! So we went for a little wander and went to Kura sushi, where you order food in a tablet and the food comes out to you on a conveyer belt. It was actually a lot of fun and Roman loved it. And it was a nice restaurant! Would recommend!
