Making use of my Christmas Yarn!
Sitting on the train yesterday (on my way to pick up my shiny new car), I just had to make some dashboard duckies for the nice folks at the dealership!
A step up from the tiny ball, I made a mini skein of yarn! She came out so cute! I love her!
I made a the cutest tiny ball of yarn! I have no idea if I am doing this right, and its probably horribly over twisted, but I MADE IT ALL BY MYSELF! And I am crazy proud of it.
So turns out you can totally make a DIY drop spindle and use a couple of old dog brushes to card and spin your own yarn out of scraps and stuff and its really fun!
A finish and a start today, my sisters "wedding socks" finished a week after her wedding, I only had 10 rows to go but I just couldn't finish them unfortunately!
And a simple garter stitch shawl/blanket to use up some DK scraps and mini skeins. I've started it off with some local hand spun I picked up at a craft fair last summer!
Skipping my lunch break and using down time at the office to knit at my desk... don't tell my boss!
My sisters wedding socks are coming along though!
My sister has decided she wants custom hand knit socks for her wedding day, cute idea!
Her wedding day is in 8 days...
And ofcourse I also have to stain and seal her wedding cake board and hand paint the welcome sign and the order of service board... oh and fit in my full time job!

Happy little swatch!
I trip to the yarn store made quick work of some money I was given for Christmas! But look how pretty!
So I somehow missed 15 rows on the sole of my first sailor slipper and didn't even notice until I was knitting the second one and ofcourse after I had felted it. AKA Sat on the floor in front of the washing machine for like 2 hours! So now I need to knit another one and hopefully I wont have to buy more yarn!
While I wait for for a yarn delivery to finish my Marble Sweater I decided to cast on the viral Sailor Slippers. I have finished knitting the first one and lets just hope the magic of Felting works because my seeming job was rough!
Cast this on a few days before Christmas, its the Marble Sweater by Petite Knit. However I'm just using some old chunky yarn I had in my stash. Its acrylic and already pilling but it'll be warm for walking the dog!
Sock number 1 done! When will I knit the second? Who knows, I sure don't!
Little socko is coming along! I made the little book in word to help keep track of sock projects.
I am actually really enjoying this yarn, its weirdly stretchy but the colours remind me of Stary Night
Cozy Christmas Cast On!
Mama bought me sparkly sock yarn, and I just couldn't wait to cast on a sparkly socky sock!
There is a new yarn shop just opened in my town, I have a feeling my plan to not buy yarn in the new year might be scrapped!
