we're all uhaul lesbians here. elle and jj are a package deal and once emily's in the mix, whoops, they're all basically living in emily's (much bigger, much nicer) apartment. and suddenly baby sergio has three moms instead of one
he loves them all differently, but he is emily's cat at his core. every time he meows at emily, she meows back, and they go on like this until sergio gets bored. jj once timed them doing this for three and a half minutes
post-bau depression slump elle spends hours cuddling with sergio when emily and jj are on cases. he loves to curl up on her chest and purr and fall asleep. emily is only a little jealous
emily and jj are both secretly very relieved that sergio is there to look after elle while they're away
jj and sergio have crazy beef. though jj insists she is not jealous of a cat, he always manages to steal not one but BOTH of her girlfriends, and it drives her nuts. he never cuddles with her but is not above begging her for food if emily's asleep or at work
sergio is emily's shadow, but the only one he lets pick him up and baby him is elle
it takes months, but he starts joining jj in the kitchen on those early mornings where she leaves hours before everyone else. he sits on the kitchen counter next to the electric kettle and keeps her company while she drinks her coffee. jj is secretly very thrilled to have won his affection, but denies it when elle and emily tease her about it (they know she's full of shit)

when they're all home, sergio sleeps on the pillows right above elle and emily's heads. and, when it's time for jj to get up, he's very polite about not waking the girls up as he follows her to the kitchen <3
