“I can really go for a coffee or even hot tea. Today was brutal.” Ellie explained as she yawned.
calebhendersonjr:
“A free sample?” Caleb grinned. “I’d be crazy not too, with how good I’ve heard these are,” he said, gesturing at the display before him.
“Well, whoever has been telling you that, I appreciate the kind words.” Ellie grinned. “What kind of sample can I interest you in today?”
avery-clarke:
“That’d be great… Did we go to high school together? You look familiar.”
“Awesome! What samples are you interested in?” Ellie asked. She studied the young woman and raised an eyebrow. “I think we have. People never really forget this red hair.” She joked. “You’re...Avery. Right? I’m Ellie.”
lawsoncarolina:
“It’s because I make it with extra love.” she replied with deadpan sarcasm. She delicately penned Ellie’s name on the side and left the register to make her order.
“I’m fine, can’t really complain you know. Just work and school. What about you?”
“And that’s the sarcasm that I like about you.” Ellie joked, laughing as she got her wallet out. “How is school going, by the way? I’m doing alright. Business is good at the bakery. Still getting used to the fact that I own a store.”
sophie-reynolds:
Sophie grinned, looking at a few of the baked goods, tapping her chin in thought. “Hm…Could I get three brownies and–what kind of free samples did you have today?”
“Yeah, of course!” Ellie got a small pink paper bag and opened it. “Well, you can try whatever, really. I don’t have any set samples.” She explained, putting three brownies into the small bag.
merritthanks:
“If I ever say no to that question, assume I’m not in my right mind.” Merritt chuckled. “It’s been fine. Just a lot of paperwork, some touring for potential tenants. That sort of thing.” He smiled.
“I would assume that you’re crazy for turning down cookies.” Ellie joked. She opened the display case and fished out a cookie and handed it to Merritt. “Oh, boy. You work way too hard, Merritt. You just need to sit and relax.”
lawsoncarolina:
“I’m always astounded at the residents loyalty to local business.” Carolina said with a gracious nod. “No starbucks here. Do you want the usual?” she asked, fingers poised above the register.
“You know, I went out of town for a while and had Starbucks. It honestly did not taste all that great. This coffee is better.” Ellie told her with a smile. “I would love that actually. One mocha.” She made her way to the counter. “How have you been?”
merritthanks:
“I love free.” Merritt walked himself a bit closer to the front counter. “Everything looks good though. I wasn’t really sure what I needed but… the food beckoned me in.”
“Well, I have freshly baked cookies if you’re interested.” Ellie grinned. “If want something, then I might have it.” She told him. “How’s your day been?”
lawsoncarolina:
“I have to say, I didn’t expect to see you here.” Carolina admitted, eyebrows raised in surprise.
Ellie tilted her head, “What are you talking about? I always go here to get coffee.” She told her, chuckling.
Ellie looked up from behind the counter, “Oh, hey. What I can get you? Can I interest you in a free sample?” She asked, motioning to the baked goods.
