The gym leader of Loveletter Town, this girl transformed from a gymleadersona into our POV character in the Petya region. She's being eaten alive by her Chandelure, and she kind of wants everyone to DNA splice with Pokemon to evolve into their true and strongest forms, but she basically never acts on this. Instead, she hangs out in her gym -- a repurposed factory -- and lets challengers come to her, only venturing outside to use the one computer at the Loveletter Town Pokemon Center.

Petya's Pokemon Professor. Always telling everyone to please be normal. Fighting misinformation about the existence of EPHEMERA types, an incorporeal type of Pokemon that is rumored to manifest out of patterns in Petya specifically. Has a daughter who remains out of the public eye, although rumors are abound that her and her name somehow have anomalous effects.

A content creator from Unova who visited Lady Loveletter's gym. After her team lost against the Lady's, she filed a formal complaint, seeking to have the Lady's gym barred from official international league recognition -- which, although it might not threaten her status as a Petyan gym leader, would bar her from attending the Pokemon World Tournament.

Puffpiece

A regional variant of Jigglypuff that, if it exists, appears to be an EPHEMERA-type Pokemon. So far, it has manifested as a song played on Tanglr's new "music player" feature and attributed to an artist that claims not to have created it. It has an extremely dedicated following.

WHAT IS THE PETYA REGION?

Petya (named after a family of malware that originally displayed a skull and crossbones, requiring a monetary payment to unencrypt its victims' data) is a region in the Pokemon world geographically closest to Kanto. At some point in the past (Old Petya), it was a thriving industrial center, and then something happened shortly after Kanto's power outage that caused the corporations to up and leave and much of its regional infrastructure to be abandoned.

What's left is a handful of active towns and cities, all named after malware, worms, and viruses. Many former residents have abandoned the region due to its infrastructural state -- there's only enough power for one computer per Pokemon center, for example. The types that stick around tend to be... oddballs. The league isn't in the standard format, and Petya has no champion. Instead, more than eight gym leaders exist, as well as an Elite Four, and challengers with at least eight badges may challenge the Elite Four to claim a spot in its ranks from one of the existing members.

WHAT KIND OF POKEMON CAN I FIND THERE?

A lot of STEEL, and GHOST types, and very few ELECTRIC types. Many Pokemon that in other regions were ELECTRIC have regional variants here, such as Petyan Stunfisk -- which uses immobilizing poison rather than electricity as its means to stun prey.

Many residents of the region also believe in the existence of a type known as EPHEMERA or PHENOMENA, depending on who you ask. The Pokemon Professor does not, and refers to any discussion of the type as rampant misinformation -- despite the presence of anomalous encounters such as Puffpiece, a supposed Jigglypuff-variant.

Oddly, there are almost no NORMAL-type Pokemon in Petya. The significance of this is unknown.
