Final Process Book Front Cover and Quick Flick Through
The image and video above shows the front cover of my book and a brief flick through of my final printed book.
Overall, I am very pleased with my final outcome of my book as it appears bold , legible and holds the correct information. The only downside I encountered with this final book was that when the book was being cut down in the machine it came out with a black ink mark on the front and back cover. This was disappointing for me as I worked hard to make sure it was perfect, however this was unprecedented and unfortunately cannot be helped.
Process Book Adjustments
After participating in my final process book review I used the feedback I received and made the adjustments. I used design features to show off quick annotations as well as changing the body copy typeface. The body copy typeface I am now using is Articulat CF - Regular in size 10pt.
Final Process Book Review
During my final process book review with my lecturer, we discussed ways in which I could improve my work by making adjustments. We talked about the body copy text being slightly too big when printed and also bringing in small sidebars within the research pages to give me the chance to create small annotations. these annotations would help me fulfil the LO:02.
I am pleased with the feedback given as I believe the recommendations are only minor improvements and can easily be completed easily and effectively.
Process Book Mock Up
Once I had a strong foundation for my process book I decided to complete a test print to make sure that all the colours print off correctly and to see how the type works on a printed page. I also bound my book using the perfect binding machine that is available on campus.
Once I had printed my book I as happy to see that the colour orange printed well, however the white tones within the images appear to have a green tone to it. This was disappointing, however, it can easily be fixed by taking the images into photoshop to brighten them up.
I believe that the overall layout of the book is successful as it is clear, not cluttered and the text is legible.
Process Book Experiment
After having my feedback from my lecturers and fellow creative peers I have decided to experiment with a completely new look to my process book.
I decided to make my book bigger in size to all more room for my content to resolve the potential issue of it becoming too cluttered. I experimented with Serif fonts and size to make a more bold and outstanding design , as well as using it to create a dynamic double page spread that. Typically, I prefer to stay away from using colour within my work, however I decided to step out of my comfort zone and incorporate small orange features that help break up the pages.
Overall, I am happy with this layout and design as I believe it is clear, legible and Bold. This is surprising to me as I usually like to use more simple, black and white, minimalistic designs.
The specifications of this book are-
Size- 210 mm x 270mm
Typography-
Nimbus Sans pt.12
Questa Grande - Bold - In Various Sizes
App Feedback
Once both groups presented our app designs we took 10 minutes apart to discuss within our groups the app that was presented to us. We acknowledged the questions given to us as well as our own opinions and suggestions on how they could improve their designs.
When we had concluded our discussions, we joined back together and explained to them our thoughts and opinions on their designs. The written content is the feedback we received from the other group. this feedback was very helpful and gave both Leia and I a confidence boost as we were the ones who completed the majority of the XD work.
App Presentation
Once we had completed our app we presented our work back to the creative students who provided us with our brief and one of our lecturers. During this presentation we worked as a team to go through the presentation and talk about the process and the different factors that were considered throughout. We all took turns in explaining what each of us did to contribute to the process.
