Cancel proposal of the Effingham County data-center
Please sign this petition, if you care about our planet at all. Effingham county has agreed to a proposal for a new data center. Southeast Georgia is already in a drought, the land cannot survive the demands of one of these centers. Please rally against this!

The Historical Short Stories
American Girl used to have short stories for the historical girls detailing their simple lives as well as some problems they may run across. However, they were discontinued after Kaya and since then no girl has ever gotten short stories since. I find this such a shame as I would’ve loved to see more from the girls post-Kaya.
That’s why I’m planning to my own short stories inspired by the ones American Girl used to have. I plan on doing some for Julie, Rebecca, Cécile and Marie-Grace, and Caroline. I also plan trying to get better at drawing again, I really want to recreate the realistic style that the American Girl illustrations once had.
If anyone has any ideas on a story for the girls, feel free to ask!
Adore this as an idea! Will forever be disappointed that they didn’t continue short stories after Kaya. Those were my gateway drugs into the full series as a kid!

The Internet Archive needs your help.
A coalition of major record labels has filed a lawsuit against the Internet Archive—demanding $700 million for our work preserving and providing access to historical 78rpm records. These fragile, obsolete discs hold some of the earliest recordings of a vanishing American culture. But this lawsuit goes far beyond old records. It’s an attack on the Internet Archive itself.
This lawsuit is an existential threat to the Internet Archive and everything we preserve—including the Wayback Machine, a cornerstone of memory and preservation on the internet.
At a time when digital information is disappearing, being rewritten, or erased entirely, the tools to preserve history must be defended—not dismantled.
This isn’t just about music. It’s about whether future generations will have access to knowledge, history, and culture.
Sign our open letter and tell the record labels to drop their lawsuit.

Laurel and Hardy also have the beautifully queer-coded Liberty (1929) where they keep trying to switch the pants they're wearing (because they're wesring each other's trousers) and keep getting "caught" in compromising positions and Their First Mistake (1932), where Ollie again chooses Stan over his wife and the two try to raise a baby together. 👀
Also, yes, they loved each other, only had one big argument as partners, were often described by their families as "closer than brothers," and, most heart-wrenching of all, after Ollie passed away in 1957, Stan refused to act in anything else without him but continued to write sketches and gags for them both until he passed in 1965. That's LOVE, man.
