no but root is truly the character of all time. starts off as the villain. kidnaps the main character twice. tortures people on screen. possibly insane but charismatic and has good chemistry with every other main character. would’ve had at least 10k fics written about her if she was a man. and like in any other show, the good guys of the story would’ve killed her off eventually and that would be that. but here she becomes a regular instead. I wouldn’t even say she goes on a redemption journey. not like fusco does. root just… finds a purpose. a higher calling, if you will, in a world that just keeps getting darker. gets kidnapped/held hostage by the aforementioned good guys. saves them a million times. dies as a good friend. lives forever as the voice of god. iconic.
