Hey, I wanted to say I love your artwork and I’m really great full for artists with more “cartoony” art styles, cause it reminds me that while I should put my all into my art, it doesn’t HAVE to look a certain way, and my cute and cartoonish art is its own style that I shouldn’t be ashamed of

How wonderful to hear!! I feel the same way - seeing simplified and stylized art gives me an oddly relaxed feeling. Besides, I love the freshness and the ease of cartoony styles - it’s like a filter that takes out all the unnecessary stuff and lets the eye focus on the good stuff! :}

hi there :) do you have any advice on creating smooth animations using Photoshop? When I play my walkcycle, it looks alright at 12 fps, but at 24 fps it looks like it's shaking :( your comics are awesome by the way!!

Hello Rachel!  I accually wonder this myself haha. To avoid jittery animation, what you could do is try using shapes rather than lineart. But if you're still a huge fan of lineart animation, I say don't give up on thst. Just try exaggerating the keyframe poses so that the eye doesn't focus on the jitter itself. Good luck!⚡⚡⚡

Hi Ellinor! I loved your Fashionarium drawings, the style is so cool!! Do you happen to be related to Emma Richey? (just curious); I mainly wanted to ask, how did you learn to animate in photoshop??? I have been trying to use the timeline and do animation frame by frame (as taught by Alex Grigg), but it takes so long and I'm still very bad at it. Do you recommend any tutorials/books/videos/methods?? Thank you!!!

Sorryyy I forgot to anwer the whole thing ;___; (didn't see the whole message at first in the app). So cool you you want to animate! I'm pretty new at it too, so all I have to offer in way of tips (ain't got any tutorials yet to refer to) is studying strong keyframe posing and just working with 10 fps so you don't have to focus on details but on "snappy" and clear poses 😄 I copy/paste of course alot in Photoshop to save time. Check out the 12 basic principals of animation! Great stuff. And good luck!! (And yep, I'm twin sister with Emma Richey!)
