RIP: Steve Jobs, co-founder and former-CEO of Apple Inc., passed away today at the age of 56.
Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004. His failing health forced him to resign his role as Apple’s CEO earlier this year, as he felt he could “no longer meet my duties and expectations.”
“Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being,” Apple said in a statement. “Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”
Apple is asking anyone who wishes to share their thoughts, memories, and condolences to email [email protected].
October 14th was recently designated Steve Jobs Day by Apple fans.

Shifting to my new address
Hellow peeeps. The time has come. My new URL is at
www.johntanyuehan.com
This blog will remain here but not for long it will be redirected there as well and no updates is coming in here any longer.
Update your links people =D
Maxis and it's calculation bug.
Update: to clarify. I did not physically slam the phone. I merely just press the sleep button on my iPhone. which is also the end call button (just incase you did not know) yeah correct term was hang up the phone quickly.
Update 2:
So, many things have happen since I posted an email. They did call me back and an agent which shall not be named called me and said that she will help me if I pay my billed usage of RM55. She will temporary unbar me till my next bill cycle. I told her she will monitor again the next day.
I held out to my end of the bargain. I paid the billed usage and NADA. Called on Saturday and another agent picked up and let me know there is a note there but he can't process it. so he say he will post an email to her.
Fine. Monday I came back to work and nada. But I did not have time so I let it go. Tuesday at 8am I called and another agent send another email to her. Department say she will come in at 11am. Fine. Called again at 12pm. Boom! another agent say she just walked into the office and also send an email to her. And I just got off the phone at 2:30pm and yes. Another agent. She can't help me except post a note to her. After hearing my claims. She also say she can't help because she was at another department and they can transfer call. So another Email. The 4th. I suppose I need to keep sending emails then.
What A Joke.
-------------------------------------------------------
I am having problem with maxis for a long long time and this time I BOILING!!!!!!!!!
I AM SO ANGRY that I scolded and slam the phone at the last 2 person handling my call.
Maxis always have their calculation bug which is totally been there since day 1. So I have in detail wrote to MAXIS customer service because I called them 4 times in a month. And each call is 30 minutes long and that is really stupid! So here's the low down on what happened.
On February 2 2011 I have subscribed to 500MB/month @ RM58 mobile internet package with the said number. My billing cycle was then 21st of every month.
On March 1 2011 I Canceled the mobile internet service. Because I wanted to switch to RM100/month But I did not know that it will only auto balance on the date of the bill cycle which is 21st of march so the computer just assumed that I wasn't subscribed to interent package from 22nd march - 1st march which made my bill sky rocket to RM250++ which barred my phone because my limit is RM100
1-2 days after that
I called the customer service and they suggested that I move my billing cycle to the 7th of march so it will be auto balanced. And at the mean time you unbarred me for 10 days... just to receive my bill
12 March 2011 my 10 day period was up and I did not receive any bill knowing that the bill always arrive late sometimes 5 days late. And again, I was barred. Only to find out that the bill cycle wasn't changed to 7th of March as requested and my un-bill amount is still RM260. Quickly they suggested that it to be change to 14th of march and again I oblige. They unbarred me again
14 March 2011 The bill finally arrive with a usage of RM50++ which I am fine with it.
17 March 2011 I then purchase the internet so I purchase RM100/month package
21 March 2011 Guess what? my phone is barred yet again. Because of high internet usage. But who knows? they don't. Because it is not generated so they can't check the usage. WTH? It is the stupid system that always screw things up. The computer that controls our phone. They suck money. Sure it is easy for me to pay the RM260 because it is still small amount, BUT is it right? that I got bullied and they get away with it? This is not the 1st time it happened to me. This is almost like 5-6 times since I took on mobile internet. Sure out of frustration I will wait it out. Until my next billing cycle. But I am under package. And they will just charge me whether I use it or not. Is it worth? NO. You see either way, they continue to bully us whether we just wait it out or pay the usage that we did not use. Sure in the end, if we pay the usage that we did not use, it will auto balance and next few bills we don't have to pay. BUT THIS IS NOT RIGHT! They need to realise that not everyone can affort to get barred halfway and assume that everyone got the cash to pay. Some of us live from paycheck to paycheck. Is it hard to fix the glitch? With a company that size. I doubt so. Is it so hard to let your customer service people see the log of our usage while we are still using it? And not until the computer generate statement? Again, I doubt so. Again, the calculation bug is stupid. They do not calculate on the spot. You know as you use they track it. They only calculate like maybe once a day or something. Then they barred you. Come on! Someone invented instant noodle. It is not that hard to invent instant calculation. We're in 2011 not 1991! Sheeze.
WE ALL HAVE BEEN THERE!

psst... update...
So last weekend I shot Alex and Chiu Ling's wedding. CONGRATS TO YOU BOTH It was tiring because it was a 2 day shoot. Nevertheless. Good experience since I have not been playing much with my camera these days. Which also means that I'll be editing my whole weekend. which means that I'll be busy. Full post will be up much much later because this post also brings me to my other news.
Yes. As much as I love tumblr and after a year plus of fully relying on it. I am shifting my blog. This time though, it could be permanent. Because, I am not just jumping to another platform, I have gotten my own Domain name as well. This move is only natural and its the matter of time and thanks to Altruism Technologies, my dreams and wishes came earlier =D What is the URL? well, you'll just have to sit through and wait till I get it up and running.
So what is left of elluminate.tumblr.com?
I am still figuring this out. As the matter of fact, I am just started to build the brand of elluminate up but might need to drop that and built other names up. I don't really know actually.
I might be a blograve. Or I might use it as a future reference. All in all, I am still sitting through this.
Any comments?

Things I suppose to photo-blog about. Probably get down to it this weekend. If I have the time...

What is love?
Picture - Another love story by dhammza
Love. Defined by many definition, used in theories worldwide and stacked up with many standards.
Someone once ask what is love on twitter status. I replied "arguments, quarrel, fights, raising voices. = love."
To a teenager under 15, love is by sight (esp boys) the craze over Justin Bieber's head is a clear example. To teenagers above 15, it could be because "oh she's so beautiful inside." Well, of course there's thousands and thousands of definition of love and there's also that 5 love language theory (which I absolutely recommend you to read the book by Gary Chapman).
To some, love makes people weak. To some, love makes people strong. To me, it is a choice and you must do it because you chose it in the 1st place, now you got to carry it till death do you part.
When I started relationship with my then girlfriend. I made sure that I already see the end that is us walking out from the holy matrimony. Now that we already did that, my end is of course loving her till the end. Thankfully, she sees it that way. And it takes 2 hands to clap.
But unfortunately, no relationship is lovey dovey 24/7. And what you see in the movies, happens only in the movies. Many a times, and in Malaysia, you'll see older couples do not love each other as much anymore. Or there was no love at all. I think it boils down to choice. Just like how your parents gave birth to you, they have no choice but to make sure you turn out right. Loving is the same.
And if we choose to love, we will make it till the end. Sure, there are times when you argue, fight but that does not mean love is not there. Sure, we do not look at our partner and have our heart beat twice as fast like we used to. Or jump up and down when we receive flowers. But love is still there, it just transformed into something else. It matures. It means to tell you that, Love grows root so deep in you that you can't see it but you can feel it.
I hope this serves as a time capsule to the me of future. I will not lose what I believe now.
These are some things we have no choice over. Just like how Jesus' mission was the cross, Superman's mission was saving the earth, Our mission is to love our partners till... we die.
Again, love is a choice. We need to actively choose it. The difficulties will be there like long distance relationship, he don't know my heart, he don't know what I want, we are both from different worlds, I don't love him like I used to anymore, I am who I am you cannot change me, he is not what he used to be and all the excuses that we are oh too familiar with them will not matter when you actively choose to love. No. Matter. What.

The 83rd Oscar Winners
This year's oscar is kinda interesting because it has so much of good quality movie and it's not just like comic, and action movies it is infact quite qualitative movie. The fact that Social Network won a few Oscars took me by surprise though. It's probably a very low budget movie yet it was so successful. Here's the complete list of winners. The percentage on the side is probably fan's predictions.
I think I have to go watch King's Speech now...
Book Review : Choosing to Cheat
Author: Andy Stanley Date Completed: 24 February 2011
Wow I must say. This is a book that is just beyond awesome. This is a very very short book that probably you can finish in a day or so. And I highly recommend this book to. Working Couples, Just starting out Couples, Husband and Wife. All those related to family.
Despite the quirky title, this has nothing to do with lies and real cheating. It is a metaphor to describe how we should spend more time with our family members. To quote some part of the book:
"Men and women become incredibly bold with their managers, company presidents and board when there is a crisis at home, What was unthinkable becomes non-negotiable"
There are many stuffs that we often overlook. The author expresses that when we put our work before our family, we are indirectly telling them. You aren't important, my work is. And it might start out OK at 1st, but after a long period, the mental agreement somehow got overruled by physical exhaustion.
Of course, this book is telling you to take precaution rather than wait for the porridge to become rice. Actually rice become porridge. And putting your priority back to your family. Ok, If you're in relationship. PICK THIS BOOK UP TO READ. PERIOD.
Personal thoughts:
If you've watch Date Night (Steve Carell and Tina Fey) you'll remember when their friends told them they are divorcing. They said many things and one of it is that they became awesome roomates instead of couples.
For me, I am fortunate that my parents spend a huge amount of time giving attention to me as a kid. And that has brought me up a better person. From a long time ago, I knew for a fact that I have to put family first and work second. Afterall, work never ends. When you make your 1st mil', you'll want your 1st bil' that's the fact of life.
Since I was married, I spend lots of time being at home. or At lease doing something with Jo. Although, I did give up lots of stuffs that I like, but that is a choice that I have to make. There was this one time when I said that my friends also getting lessor.
While it is true, I choose to stay at home rather than hanging out with friends all the time and this is something I know will benefit for the future. So for my friends who got turned down alot for mamak and badminton, Sorry!
Of course, we don't need to be homebound all the time! But doing what you both love doing is the key element of relationship. For me, I know that it is much easier to give up what I like to do and pick up what she like to do. And we'll both do it.
That's it. Remember to pick the book up and read ;)
Update: Yesterday in cell, I've heard how one of the cell members actually change from a high paying job to a insecure job (at first) because she is about to get married. She did not make any penny the 1st month. She mention that her work hours are long and hard and if she is to stay at her previous job, she might as well do not need to get married. And that is what I call, making the right decision and not always a favourite ones but people who make effort for their family, will look back at their decision and smile in the future.
Noooooooo~~~ :(
This is sad of the day:
Well, since my post on Scenery Resort went online. Many people want to go there. One of my friend also booked air ticket there. But sadly, she told me that they will not offer night stay come May 2011.
I then also email scenery resort and ask of night stay and they responded with this
Start from May we will be on renovating our villas and landmark for welcome one-day-trip tourism in full activities programs and service.
to welcome tourists on a One Day Trip along with our existing platform and provide more variety activities to suit the full cycled tourism objective. We will stop servicing the overnight accommodation accordingly in order to cope with the becoming tourism environment.
No idea what to make of that but it is rather sad. It is always sad when something awesome just decided not to exist. Probably though, it is getting costly in maintaining the place as a resort… BUT!!!! That being said, in Suan Phung that are literally hundreds and hundreds of resort. Ok may not be hundreds but yeah. They all got the same kinda flare (sort of) and time to explore some other new ones =D Here’s a list in which I’ve searched. Some of it is in Thai which is sad because I don’t read Thai. For a start, there is a resort called this Nagaya which is basically on the same plot of land as scenery just that they are of different boss… http://www.nagayaresort.com/http://www.buawattanaresort.com/ (They have a tree villa)http://www.edengardenresort.com/http://www.thebanyanleaf-resort.com/http://www.baanrimkao.com/http://www.hi-scene.com/mains/http://www.latoscana-resort.com/th/homehttp://vancoevorden.net/wp/2011/01/26/tanaosri-creek-side-resort-suan-phung/http://www.swissvalleyhipresort.com/index.html Time to explore some new place… eh?
1st ever Honeymoon:part Jatujak, Chinatown, Sirroco, Khao San
Alright, This will be the ending post of my honeymoon =D
If you want previous part, you can click here and scroll right to the bottom to start hehe.
Because we were that busy preparing for our wedding, we did not have time to plan for this trip. Good thing is, this is already my 3rd time here and I sort of know what to expect in this beautiful City yet. It is still unplanned for and I did not really shoot that much images so I'll just cramp all the images in this post and close this chapter of my honeymoon. Videos are still being edited and who knew when would that come out. HAHA.
This is actually something I did to keep track of where I've been and some research on hotels hehe.
But nevertheless, All we did is went back to some places of interest and explored some new place. And because it is nothing new, I did not take much picture because it is the same ol' place. If you're interested you can look at my previous Bangkok posts...
So here's some of the places that we revisited. So it is just pictures all the way!
Jatujak
Jatujak is the nearest attraction to where we stayed @ Udee Bangkok. If you see the map again on the far top side there's a green and red pin. The red pin is where we stayed and the green is Jatujak haha. Still, it was a 30 minutes walk @_@
I still do not like Jatujak. The place is cram, the price is not cheap and you can't go back to where you spoted something. It is a maze!
ChinaTown
Honestly, if your purpose is to shop in Bangkok. Do it all in China Town! Reason? Wholesale... Everything you see in other parts of the market (Jatujak, Suan Lum) All originated... HERE! But be warned. It is seriously cramp!
To get there, take a cab or just go to Ratchawong Pier #5
The entrance to the famous cramp street (Can't remember name)
Sirocco Sky Bar
This is probably the worst part of the trip for us @ Bangkok. Well, it was publicized as one of the best location to have a drink / food because "oh it is so worth it" "you get to see the whole of Bangkok."
Well, the latter part is true but for us, it wasn't that great.
1stly, you only can shoot photo on a designated platform which is a small area the size of your boss' office.
The westerners come down here to find chicks to lie with them. No seriously. It is a social platform for them to socialize with plenty of liquor.
The liquor wasn't that cheap. We don't drink and it makes it worst. A glass of non liquored drink like coke is RM35. Good news though, you don't have to buy anything and parking is free!!!
No tripod allowed. Even my gorillapod. Again, you can sneak them if you have a big lady bag.
That being said, we quickly squeeze our way through the party goers and smokers and shot a few photos and went down! I felt really delusional by the time we were up there. Gonna try Baiyoke tower the next time I am in BKK
I was holding my camera way up there on the stairs and quickly shot down by the waiters. Seriously. What a waste.
You can see the Chao Praya river
Khao San Road
One of the biggest highlight for me was Khao San Road. This was my first time there. Only accessible by car wasn't the thing for me. But we went anyway. We thought it was a happening street. Well, it is but it fell short of fanciness compared to the walking street. It's filled with Ang Mo's drinking away. We found a Burger King and ate there for dinner and boy, we conclude that from now on, all Burger Kings in SEA are rubbish!
us @ Khao San Oh don't worry, we wore back our shirt because we washed them @ our hostel... yey
Mandatory McD pose haha.
Erm not sure if this was on display or it belonged to someone...
Vespa!
I also bought this! The Nancy Chandler bangkok map. I ABSOLUTELY love it. It is probably the best map of Bangkok ever!
Then we spotted something haha.
We then spend an hour waiting for the sun to set so we can capture the nightlife. We went to massage which is I think the cheapest in all Bangkok and at all place farang-fied Khao San. RM18 an hour!!!!
Hmm they sell almost anything haha. pretty odd and pretty daring... to set up a booth...
This was the night scene. Pretty tame la. I would say the neons aren't as flashy as Pattaya but it was a great walk nontheless
In a sense, it was over developed to cater for the western market but every development causes some other things to lose its flavour. In this case, culture. You can find starbucks and true coffee in Khao San. Actually probably a handful of place in Bangkok where there's Burger King, Starbucks exist.
They even picked up Malaysia's dish. But they disgraced the flavour.... EWW. and yes it is Roti Canai. And yes, I saw them made it like Roti Canai. Nutella flavour? Come'on! In places like this, I rather dig food like...
THAT!!! haha I did not pick that up and eat though. Probably next round. But I did buy a handful of
I am pretty sure I got the video somewhere.....
HAHA!
And no, they don't taste like chicken.
They taste more like Twisties chicken flavour...
Alright! That is the end of the honeymoon post. =D
I surely miss Bangkok, but I am not going back there again and again because I've got other places to explore. I might however go visit Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Nyak Nyak!
Oh as usual, more picture up on facebook soon.
Me chasing sheeps at Scenery Resort I miss there...
Ready.....POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF
1st ever Honeymoon:part Bangkok Jam
And now after scenery resort, we resort back to the City. We left too late and due to some GPS error, lost our way and it was mad which result in us reaching Bangkok on a Friday evening at 5pm.
2 words - JAM MAX!!!
A journey of 10 minutes took us 2 hours to reach our desired destination.
We checked into this nice little place call UDEE Bangkok.
If you think we are in another place like awesome romaticly nice, then you're half wrong. HAHA. The place we stay is kinda not anywhere near popular touristy and its not near to any attraction except Jatujak market.
The road in was so narrow that it was meant for a single car but we used it as 2 way. Plus there's a lack of parking means people just park at the side. So, It is seriously, Super tight. The trishaw guy in this pic is actually a self-appoint ferry. With some money, he ferry people up and down the street because it is kinda far to walk.
But one thing that makes Thailand unique is that, they take hospitality too seriously. (And that's a good thing right?) What we stay in, is actually backpackers and not some 5 star hotel. But they made it so awesome that it does not seems cheap.
In fact the place won the cleanest hostel award from hostel bookers (which is where we booked the place from) By the end of our stay, we kinda figured out why.
The hostel is actually kinda small, but it is sufficient for us who won't be in most of the time HEHE.
Cute drawing that tells you where you are and what's around
They owners are very helpful they will tell you where to go and let you know the cost of the fare so you wont' get cheated.
Oh right, that's our room and what you see is about it. I tried to stand as far as I could with my lens as wide as I could and that's all. LOL. It. is. a. CONTRAST. When we were there, we were like WE MISS SCENERY RESORT~~~
Because we arrived late, we did not plan on what to do on that night, so, we just went out to the main road by walking and try to hunt for food.
Actually, again, kinda disappointed at the location at 1st, but by the end of the stay, we kinda like it there. It does have certain charm to it.
We ended up eating in a restaurant called the Shini Shabu Shabu.
It's kinda like a gem because many locals eat there and it is always pack on weekends. Best thing, You can refill the meat. Also they have a some sushi which you can refill as well.
After dinner, We walked into 7-11 bought some cup noodles and retire for the night =)
That's all for this post. hehe. more photos of the hostel below
part 2 of bangkok post
For the Scenery Resort post... part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4
