“Never fuck with the daughter of a Serial Killer.”
So, I saw Scream 5 on its release day. I loved the feel of it, I loved the nods and call backs, I loved some of the kills, I loved how clever it was and I especially loved Mindy and Chad. But the killer reveal was very disappointing to me and if you read on [SPOILERS] you’re gonna hear why and also what I personally would’ve done had it been up to me.
For me, this movie seemed to be all about going all the way back to the original and finding that missing piece to a puzzle we thought was long solved. Kinda just how Randy explains trilogies in his Scream 3 video tape. We’re back in Woodsboro, the deaths are tied to the original killers, hell the final act is in the MACHER HOUSE. Should it not stand to reason that the killers should also have some tie to the original? In a movie that is hailing back to the original so much and actively making all of these connections and parallels, to end that with two new, random killers who just happen to be crazed STAB fanatics who didn’t like the last entry is just NOT good enough, I’m sorry, but it’s not. They have no tie to the original, they have no real motive, it’s basically for nothing, it simply does not fit the movie.
In my opinion, I think it would’ve been much more fitting had the secret not been revealed so early in the movie, and if it had all worked out that (Ageing him a few years), it had turned out that Wes was Billy’s son and it had been Judy he had the fling with in highschool. Wes could’ve been having the visions of Billy, and began the killings in order to lure Sidney home to finish what his father had started 25 years previously. Skeet‘s appearances would’ve complimented it beautifully, the motive would’ve been tight and pure legacy, it would tie in so well with the name choice for the movie just being “Scream”, and it also would’ve added a lot of context to Judy’s behaviour towards Sidney in the fourth movie when she displayed some very odd and mildly obsessive behaviour towards her; sure, Sidney played Tiger Lily in that school play a million years ago, how can you forget the girl whose boyfriend got you pregnant in highschool?
Just my thoughts, opinions and ideas. Other than that, I think the movie was good and I enjoyed it. Solid 7/10.
13?
Oh, wow, sorry this took so long to answer! I would say the cringiest moment of a horror movie for me would have to be in 'The Human Centipede: The Final Sequence' when the warden personally castrates one of the inmates. I can't watch it, makes me feel physically ill.

So, I’m watching ‘The Craft’, for like, the millionth time, and I only just realised that Nancy said “I take into myself all the power of Manon”, I’ve ALWAYS thought she said “I take into myself all the power of my lungs”, which I was confused by the first time I watched it... until the scene where she screamed so hard it blew the microwave up and gave Ray a heart attack. Cuz I always watched that scene and was like “ah, I get it now, what a fucking set of lungs to scream so hard you kill a guy”. I’m an idiot.
