āWoah, hey ⦠its okay. That was just ⦠my dad taking care of the beast. Itās gone now.ā She reassured simply, though she gave his hand a comforting pat.Ā She wasnāt used to seeing him so afraid.Ā āā¦ā
Sad. Scared⦠The little sorcerer was a bundle of emotions at that moment.
He tugged at her hand, pulling the faun closer, and nuzzled his nose into her palm, seeking comfort.
She placed her hand carefully on his back to stroke it softly in a comforting manner, as he tugged her closer. Elora didnāt say anything, instead, she simply rested her head near him with her ears low. Flora quietly placed the tea down on the table, and went back to the kitchen ⦠not wanting to disturb the two.Ā
He scooted closer, resting his head against the faunās chest. Seeking her hand out, and pulling her arms around him.
ā⦠Donāt stop.ā
She sighed softly, curling both arms around him and pressed a soft nuzzle to his head.Ā ā... You ... feeling a little better?ā

[x] @riptothesorcerer She hoisted Ripto in her arms, taking a few steps back and then bolting the hell out of there. Once reaching her home, she kicked down the door and stood there with heavy pants, eyes alight with worry. Flora startled, and Oaken flew up instinctively, but the two parents were still and quiet as they observed the injured man in her arms. āHe needs our help ⦠Mom, do you have your spell book? ā -
⦠Back again⦠He was falling in and out of consciousness. The world span all around.
His hand clung to the faunās own. Weak. Faint.
He was foolish to have wandered off. But he did not care.
⦠Until it happened. And he was scared.
Elora lowered her gaze, sighing and placing Ripto carefully on the couch. She still held onto his hand, looking up just as Flora approached holding her spell book.Ā Ā ā⦠Its going to take us both to heal him.ā Flora opened the book to show her daughter the exact spell, Ā āElora, are you ready?ā She gave a small nod. Both fauns placed their palms over Riptoās body, murmuring the spell in their native tongue. AĀ bright and greenish glow flowed out from their fingertips and seeped into his gaping wounds. Once removing their hands, Flora smiled.Ā ā⦠He may not awaken right away. Do not worry ⦠he just needs rest. Iāll put on some tea for you two.ā
Idiot⦠Wandering off on his own without Crush or Gulp to defend him. Or a scepter to defend himself⦠What was he thinking?
⦠He wasnāt thinking. He just wanted that ache to go away.
⦠Maybe it will now. But⦠He didnāt want to die⦠Not again, at leastā¦
He was still awake as the two worked their magic, feeling the warmth seeping in, mending his wounds⦠The pain subsided, and he drew in a shakey breath.
ā...ā Her ears twitched to the sound of his labored breath, and she looked over. She was relieved to see that he was awake, but there was an awkward silence between them.Ā āUm ... I-Iām going to go put this back.ā Rising to her feet, she took the spell book to place it back on the shelf. Momentarily glancing off just when a high-pitched squeal came from the outside. And, she saw her father through the window, coming back with his axe in tow and the slain creature over his shoulder.

She found one of those silly sculptures of Ripto that was placed in random places across Avalar. Whether he did it himself, or someone else did it was unknown. Maybe he Ā had some admirers ⦠for whatever reason. Teeth gritting, she stared up at it. Funny ⦠he wasnāt supposed to be that tall. Still, she couldnāt bring herself to wreck the thing ⦠even though she wanted to. To show disrespect was a sign of ignorance ⦠and she was /not like him./ Instead, she kicked it. Once ⦠twice, and then she punched it. Of course, it still stood as proud as ever with that characteristic mocking grin leering down at her. āJerk.ā Turning on her hoof, she stomped past. Finding the remains of a fallen large oak tree to take her frustration on instead.Ā
⦠Where did she go? He was⦠He was alone⦠He didnāt want to be aloneā¦
⦠But⦠Hadnāt he said he didnāt want any company?
He pushed himself back up on his feet⦠He didnāt even bother dusting himself off. Nor did he even bother with his cape⦠He didnāt care about it anymore. He didnāt care what those morons did with itā¦
Keeping his arms wrapped around himself, the little saurian departed, leaving the faunās house behind him. Deep into the forest he wandered. Whatever deadly beasts that lie within, he did not care about.
He cared about nothing.
She was preparing to head for home, when a gust of wind picked up and nearly toppled her over. Blinking dumbly, she didnāt think too much of it at first ⦠But, then the putrid smell of wild beast hit her sensitive nose. She caught a passing glimpse of something big and bulky lumbering past the trees. Whatever it was, it was damn fast ⦠and it had caught the scent of something. She watched it pause, lifting its head to sniff the air around it ⦠and it bolted. Worry crossed her features. What had it smelled? What if it was ⦠Ripto ? āShit-ā And, she took off after the beast, using the height of the trees to her advantage to stay out of its sight.Ā
He didnāt know where he was going. But he didnāt care⦠Maybe heāll find more alcohol and drink himself into the next ditch.
After a while, the sorcerer came to a sudden salt, feeling the ground tremble⦠And when he turnedā¦
⦠He didnāt even register what it was that had rammed into him, flinging him up into the air. He fell some feet away, disoriented, and⦠Bleeding.
Elora saw the tail end of the attack ... and she readied the axe in her hands. The beast was near the size of Gulp, possibly even larger ... but she wasnāt about to let fear stop her. The faun narrowed her eyes. āHey!ā She shouted, getting the creatureās attention.Ā āWhy go after him when you can have venison instead?ā Sticking out her tongue, she taunted it with a quick flick of her tail. The beast bellowed, smashing both fists against the ground and started to give chase. Elora managed to slide just underneath its legs, so she was now directly behind it ...Ā And plunged the axe deep into its backside. The action didnāt kill it, rather stalled it for a moment ... she hoped that would give her enough time to go to Ripto.

[x] @riptothesorcerer Oaken just rolled his eyes, shaking his head.Ā ā⦠Alright, alright. Enough sass from ye. Floraās jusā trying to make sure ya donāt hurt yerself. Thā least ya can do is not be a moron and plummet to yer death out this window in front of me wife.ā He wanted to take the sorcerer by the scruff of his neck and show him the door, but Floraās quiet gaze made him stop ⦠and he lowered his hands. With a flare of his nostrils, he instead folded his arms over his chest.Ā āā¦ā āUm ⦠youāre always welcome back in our home. Just be careful out there?ā Flora said softly, ears low.
ā⦠Whatever!ā
And with a huff, the sorcerer slid over, andā¦
⦠Immediately lost his footing, and went sliding down the roof, and went plummeting down to the ground, face-first.
ā⦠Geez, I told him.ā Oaken muttered softly.Ā āShould we ⦠help him?ā Flora questioned. ā⦠Heāll be fine without our help.ā - Elora finished cleaning up one section of the forest. She held a large trashbag full of fliers and other things that she would burn later. ā⦠Geez, maybe I should just ⦠get Professor to zap this stuff into ash.ā She mused, deciding then that would be safer. Mind made up, she would just take the bag home and call him in the morning. She ventured on home, pausing to see Ripto just ⦠sort-of lying there. āā¦ā Sighing, she placed the bag of trash down and went over to a small shed, disappearing into it. After a few minutes, Elora came out. ā⦠I take it you tried escaping from the window instead of using the front door. Anyway, I cleaned out some of my belongings so ⦠you can just crash in the shed until you feel good enough to leave.ā
The sorcerer, upon hearing the faunās voice, pushed himself up and glared.
āSave it! I donāt need your stupid shed.ā
He knelt there, taking in a few breaths, and finally stood up. Albeit with wobbly legs⦠By now, he wasnāt quite as inebriated ; but he was weak from the lack of food and drink. But he didnāt care.
āIām leavingā¦!ā
He was impossible! Elora mirrored his glare with her own,Ā āFine. Iāve done everything I can do to help you, Ripto. GOOD NIGHT.ā
She should have known better. She should have left him to wallow in his misery back in the forest, but she was too soft hearted to let him suffer alone. But, she was tired and angry.
Ā With her hands balled into fists, Ā she moved past him to a tree stump where her father kept his axe. Picking it up effortlessly, she placed it over her shoulders, and walked back into the forest. She had to let off some steam.
