Carried away, she says. He'd argue that she had gotten carried away when she decided to even make a cake to celebrate in the first place.
He stares down at the cat and wonders why she chose it in the first place. Maybe it was more for her own sanity and entertainment than anything. He could tolerate that much. As long as she didn't make his job difficult.

Never had cake, before, he almost says.

With that, he draws his sword.
'Why.. Well, people eat nice things on their birthday. ...Not that I know what you'd consider nice. I know you might say you don't need it but what's the harm..?' Is she trying her best to be nice? Yes, even though she's a bit scared.
He doesn't get it. Doesn't understand why she's so insistent. Doesn't understand why she's bothering to be nice.

A pause, and he looks away and back, towards nothing in particular.

He stares at Orihime, hands in his pockets. Silent for a long moment, he sighs, slow and deep.

Ulquiorra dislikes Nnoitra for obvious reasons, he also dislikes Tesla for his "shameless" worship of someone like Nnoitra.
Boo me for speaking the truth, as usual. Only idiots would think Lindocruz is somehow cared for under Nnoitra's wing. Almost any other Espada would show greater appreciation for such devotion.
Sans myself; I have no desire for Fracciónes. Nelliel or Harribel would suit him. Perhaps Barragan, too.
We all know if Tesla had some sense of sanity and self respect, he'd be an aide to Tres Bestias and Harribel, by now.
Fortunately for Nnoitra, that Fracción seems to have a humiliation and degradation kink that outweighs all logic.
