Everyone download your fics beforehand
this is a great time of year to buy from native stores or donate to native organizations. you can figure out who's land you're on here, and below i've listed some (of many) businesses you can support ♡
B.Yellowtail --- jewlery, clothing, and home goods designed by Bethany Yellowtail, citizen of the Northern Cheyenne Nation and from the Apsáalooke (Crow) Nation
Cheekbone Beauty --- sustainable, low-waste beauty products from Jenn Harper, an Anishinaabe artist based in Canada
Trickster --- atheletic products from Tlingit and Deg Hit’an Athabascan siblings (Alaska)
NativeHumboldt on Etsy --- the artist, Shayna McCullough, and their fiancé make designs inspired by traditional designs from their culture; she is from the Yurok tribe and descended from the Hupa, Karuk, Redwood Creek, Pit River, Yuki, Wintun, Pomo (tribes in California), and Chetco tribe (in Oregon)
OklahomaThirtyNine on Etsy --- they mostly sell beaded work, particularly earrings, as well as some necklaces
xBeadsByMandyx on Etsy --- handmade beaded earrings, from a Cherokee veteran
food products, from wine to sauces to teas to mixes to fish to jerky and nuts, sorted by store with details beside each store
My favorite shoes in the winter are my Manitobah mukluks, which are Metis-owned and participate heavily in community initiatives with other indigenous nations to train and support artists. They also partner regularly with artists from other nations on their shoes to create custom editions. Currently they are collaborating with Rosa Scribe (Cree), Janae Grass (Sac & Fox), Atheana Picha (Salish), and Melissa Peter-Paul (Mi'kmaw). They also host an indigenous market that showcases and promotes indigenous artists.
Plus they're warm as hell and the sheepskin lining means I don't have to wear socks, which is extremely nice sensory comfort. So that's nice as well.
Eighth Generation (Snoqualmie Tribe) has some beautiful stuff - I've bought a huge beautiful beach towel and cool socks from them personally, but they have jewelry, art, housewares, lots of great work.
image is one of my favourite blankets from Eighth Generation
Beam Paints --- watercolour paints by Anong Migwans Bean, M'Chigeeng First Nation (located in Ontario), who was taught to harvest pigments by their parents ((recommended by @airbenderinalbion))
Beyond Buckskin --- created by Jessica Metcalfe, who is Turtle Mountian Chippewa, they feature and sell works such as moccasins, jewelry, clothing, and blankets from over 40 artists --- featured is a beaded Yakima Plateau bag ((recommended by @sassytail))
Haipažaža Pĥežuta --- a couple, Lakota and Dakota, from Ocheti Sakowin Tha Makhoche (Sioux Nation) who make soaps, shampoo bars, bath and body products, salves, & more herbal products, incorporating traditional knowledge and using minimal packaging + natural ingredients ((recommended by @wittywallflower))
Sequoia Soaps --- soaps, candles, lotions, body mists and body scrubs, founded by Michaelee Lazore, who is Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) from Akwesáhsne and Northern Paiute (in Nevada) ((recommended by @trialofasphodel))
a couple new additions:
Only Child Handicrafts --- beadwork created by a 30-year-old beadworker, which they learned while growing up near the Great Lakes from the Anishinaabe; their paternal family is Ojibwe from Fort William First Nation & their patterns are both based on traditional patterns & contemporary ((recommended by @fruityshirts))
Sage & Oats Trading Post --- based in Montana, but selling products from native artists across the country, including beadwork, candles, foodstuffs, books, textiles, jewelry, & so much more ((recommended by @samwisegamgeeee))
Sea Wisdom Design --- jewelry by łlilawikw ("gatherer of the people"), who is Kwakwaka’wakw, from the Pacific Northwest, whose beautiful historical designs are featured in her art ((recommended by @fruityshirts))
middle picture: blanket made by Rachel Twoteeth Pichardo, a Little Shell artist from North Carolina
It's not a small creator, but Prados Beauty is indigenous-owned and partners with indigenous designers. They're pretty mainstream now but I've only heard good things about their corporate practices.
Discover Prados Beauty, featuring high-quality cosmetics at affordable prices. Embrace all of your beauty with ethically made cosmetics, too
Thunderbird Skin --- skincare made Mooretown Rancheria Maidu women from Northern California, who now live in the UK. they also make products specifically for eczema & psoriasis & have trial sizes of nearly all their products ((recommended by @a-wild-haggis))
Mistahiminis Beadwork --- beautiful art, beaded earrings & embroidery works & sewn bags, made by a nonbinary Nehiyawak (Cree) beadworker in Canada ((recommended by @thymeforeverything))

Good Medicine Clothing --- an Apsáalooke-owned (Crow Nation) clothing store, founded by a Native American dancer & hip hop artist (his music links here) ((recommended by @alcidesire))
The Wandering Bull --- they carry a huge variety of pow-wow supplies & whatever anyone might need to make their own pieces ((recommended by @lugarn))
Medicine Man Crafts --- goods made by people on/near the Eastern band Tsalagi Nation (Cherokee), such as traditional baskets & jewelry, craft supplies, masks & pottery, & so much more ((recommended by @lugarn))
thanksgiving is a holiday based on a falsified narrative full of white guilt and the erasure of history so what are some good native organizations to donate to this coming thursday
organizations recommended by @loneghostkid
native american rights fund
heyday berkely roundhouse
news from native california magazine
national indian child welfare association
california indian legal services
the national indigenous women’s resource center
please also consider looking into funding native/tribal food sovereignty projects if you have food to donate or money to spare. friends, please add more if you know of them and have links to provide:
native american food sovereignty alliance
meskwaki food sovereignty initiative
friends of pine ridge reservation
first nations development institute
you can also buy food/gifts from indigenous sellers or donate to gofundme fundraisers made by indigenous people who need help getting groceries, paying medical bills, or paying rent. do something to help us and our communities.
try water projects too, like the navajo water project: https://www.navajowaterproject.org/

a lot of reservations are fucked over on water by illegal oil drilling, pipelines, or other breaches, like in the navajo rez’s case: contaminated by illegal uranium mining.
I would like to put my endorsement to the Sovereign Bodies Institute, home of the database of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. The database is trans-inclusive, the data protocols follow the desires of the families of MMIW, and this holiday season, they are collecting donations to buy gifts for the families, especially the children, of missing and murdered women.
I’d like to add Feeding Nunavut, the cost of living in the isolated north for Inuit is up to and sometimes over 5x the prices the rest of Canada is used to.
I don’t really know who Reggie Rowe is, but my friend requested him, and told me that they headcanon him as a concrete conduit. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I hope this is satisfactory.
Oh my gosh this is so precious
Let go of his cute face hun
@trashy-shipper I love ur art!
Conduit Trio and Powers
I’ve been thinking how their powers effects each of the Conduit Trio. Does the source that they drain make them feel jittery, calm, or hyper?
Like, does Eugene feel different when he drains from a computer versus a T.V.? His power is Video/Hard Light…Does the content that’s on the screen change it’s feel to him? Maybe calm and serene motions on screens, like ocean waves on nature channels such as Discovery make him feel sleepy or calm. In turn, fast and chaotic motions, like Michael Bay-esque explosions make him feel hyped up and wanting to move. Snowy static from T.V’s really make him feel extremely jittery and anxious, so he avoids those at all costs. Eugene already has anxiety, so his normal anxiety plus more anxiety equals meltdown.
What about Fetch? Does neon color effect her in any way? What about if its from raw neon vs neon in lightbulbs. I think dying, old neon bulbs from which she drains tastes/feels gritty and dull like stale crackers or something. Pink or purple neon is her favorite because it makes her feel happy and energized. Blue neon sometimes makes her feel nostalgic and cozy like she felt around Brent, and other times it makes her feel sad and sluggish. Raw neon, like the balls of neon she chases in First Light gives her hella energy, like straight adrenaline, lol. :)
Delsin absorbs smoke like its food. He likes campfires because it tastes like smoked food (especially is food is actually being cooked over the fire at the time). Bacon or fish over a fire taste the best. Smoke from man-made fires (like car fire) make him feel both heavy and revved up at the same time; the chemicals from these kinds of fires are the reason. Smoke from natural sources, such as plain wood fires and such, make him feel very good, healthy, and energized. Cigarette and tobacco smoke makes him feel nauseous and very sick, so he tend to stay away from that.
He has no real preference for neon color; however, he does tend to stay away from dying neon bulbs. For him, dying neon is what makes him feel slow and sluggish. Also, they taste like cardboard, ugh.
Like neon, Delsin has no preference with video types. Though, like Eugene, he stays away from snowy static because it makes him feel anxious and shaky with energy, almost like he has an awful fever. To be avoided at all costs.
Eugene ? c:
Sexuality Headcanon: Panromantic-asexual. He has no romantic inclination in the sense that gender is no factor. He’s ace but likes kisses and hugs and all that. Make-out sessions and touching above the waist is okay, but below the waist is a big NO-NO.
Gender Headcanon: I really don’t see him other than cis male. Eugene’s given his gender a lot of thought, but he’s pretty sure he’s just male.
A ship I have with said character: Delgene (Delsin/Eugene) and Delgenetch (Delsin/Eugene/Fetch) all the way! Delsin (and Fetch) just get him in ways that other people have not. He really loves them for that.
A BROTP I have with said character: When it’s a Delgene pairing, BROTP with Fetch so hard. Otherwise, maybe Reggie? I can just imagine them sitting down eating junkfood and talking about how much of a dweeb Delsin is.
A NOTP I have with said character: Augustine/Eugene or Reggie/Eugene, ugh. I can’t do it.
A random headcanon: Eugene loves Batman to the ends of the earth. Besides Heaven’s Hellfire, he has enough Batman merch that he could start his own little shop.
General Opinion over said character: I really like Eugene and would love to know more about him. He’s a ball of social anxiety, which I can relate to, and he’s a big cinnamon roll who needs lots of hugs. :)
Conduit Trio Gender/ Sexuality/ Misc Headcanons
Sorry I haven’t been as active! So here’s a thing (implied Delgenetch):
Delsin
Nonbinary artist who loves the environment and birds! Chill with using he/him pronouns, but also likes using they/them pronouns too.
Panromantic-Pansexual: doesn’t understand why people find this confusing? He’s dating people for their personalities and quirks and traits, not what’s in their pants or whatever.
Can be a switch in bed, but loooves to sub with the right partner(s)
Reg gave him their mother’s old plated earrings as a recent birthday gift. He loves to wear them when he’s feeling more fem. Will rock long, oversized cardigan sweaters when feeling fem as well.
Fetch
Lovely trans-lady who can draw the most even eyeliner wings on the planet, omg. Uses she/her pronouns
Panromantic-Demisexual: she loves people so much, but it takes her some time to like them in the sexual way. Loves cuddling and reading together.
Likes to take charge in bed, but will most def be very attentive to her partner(s)
Like Del, she loves oversized jackets, but will most definitely combo them with boots and skin tight shorts (and tights if cold enough). Boots all year, exceptions only for bare feet in the summer or flip-flops in the sand.
Eugene
This shy, blonde angel is cis-male, and uses he/him pronouns. Can (and will if he’s comfy enough) talk to you about video games all day everyday.
Biromantic-Asexual: he really loves girls and nonbinary people. Will fall hard for whoever he likes but is very sex-repulsed. He will “take care” of himself he he absolutely has to, but really dislikes doing it.
Will go tinker or watch a movie or something when his partner(s) is(are) doing anything sexual
Even though he missed some nerd-culture due to being locked up in Curdun Cay, he caught up quickly and is the font of all nerd things. Video games? Yes. Comics? Yes. Movies? Of course. His wardrobe, of course, reflects this as he wears a lot of graphic tees and his assortment of Star Wars underwear and socks.
conduit crew head canons pre second son !
(Thanks tumblr for not notifying me. Sorry for the lateness!)
Okay, pre-Second Son headcanons! I’ve actually talked about this with someone before, but this was yeeeeears ago, and I’m pretty sure I forgot most of it, lol
Eugene
Our favorite angel kept to himself a lot. His mother was always busy, he rarely saw her. Because of this, he was taken care of pretty much by a dedicated babysitter that soon became one of the few people he really trusted and looked up to in his life. She never looked bored when he told her about his interests and never made fun of him when things made him anxious or scared. She taught him all sorts of hobbies that he had never really been exposed to before: sewing, crocheting, origami, and baking. Although the first two didn’t necessarily stick, origami was something he thought was neat and baking is really what he took to heart. He loved being able to make all sorts of sweets and breads! Cooking, on the other hand, was just not something he had been good at during his childhood and early teen years.
Could he make a mean cake? Oh, most certainly. Could he be trusted to not to burn his mac n cheese? 50% of the time, no.
His babysitter knew about the bullying at school, and she did her best to help. He had bad social anxiety and general anxiety, so she helped him understand what he had (she had a history of it herself) and did more research to look for ways to manage it that best fit him. She always made sure she checked him over for any injuries when he came home looking like a wilted plant, lent an ear when he needed to rant or vent about his day, or be there ready with tissues or a throw blanket when he needs a good cry. Because she’s not his mother, most of the board at school wouldn’t listen to her when she brought up the bullying, and when she talked about it with Eugene’s mother, the woman brushed it off, saying that her son needed to grow up and learn to stand up for himself.
When his powers emerged after a particularly bad day of bullying at his school, she worried when she didn’t see him after school. Fretted even more when she didn’t get a text or call from him saying that he was going to be late. She decided to wait just a little longer and turned on the TV to calm her nerves. Unfortunately, that did the exact opposite when she saw Eugene’s face plastered all over the news with his school in the picture and the D.U.P. surrounding the place.
Bioterrorist Captured at Local High School made her want to vomit, cry, and run out the door. She did the latter of the three with the second quickly encroaching as she shook when she flew to her car. The drive to the school was fruitless and the million calls she sent to his mother weren’t any better.
She sobbed in her car when she finally parked at home. She never heard from Eugene again. (Not until several years later when he was older and standing next to the two resident Conduits who, through the efforts of all three of them, saved Seattle. He was still awkward as ever, but that’s Eugene, she knew.)
Malcolm as sheriff? Ohhh I love that! Your Rowe parent fics were what inspired mine and I will be forever grateful ❤️❤️
Omg that's the highest compliment ever! Thank you so much! 🙏🏾💙

Congrats being 10!
Thank u! I still can't believe it, haha
It's my 10 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳
Hoo boy, can't believe it's been 10 years!
A new study shows indigenous resistance cut emissions by at least 25%.
Indigenous-led resistance to 21 fossil fuel projects in the U.S. and Canada over the past decade has stopped or delayed an amount of greenhouse gas pollution equivalent to at least one-quarter of annual U.S. and Canadian emissions.
This is despite an onslaught of attacks against Indigenous activists over the past few years. Over the last few years, victories won against projects through direct actions have led to more than 35 states enacting anti-protest laws, jail time for protestors, thousands of dollars of fines, and even the killing of prominent activists.
Indigenous rights and responsibilities “are far more than rhetorical devices — they are tangible structures impacting the viability of fossil fuel expansion.” Through physically disrupting construction and legally challenging projects, Indigenous resistance has directly stopped projects expected to produce 780 million metric tons of greenhouse gases every year and is actively fighting projects that would dump more than 800 million metric tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year.
The analysis, which used publicly released data and calculations from nine different environmental and oil regulation groups, found that roughly 1.587 billion metric tons of annual greenhouse gas emissions have been halted. That’s the equivalent pollution of approximately 400 new coal-fired power plants — more than are still operating in the United States and Canada — or roughly 345 million passenger vehicles — more than all vehicles on the road in these countries.
“From an Indigenous perspective, when we are confronting the climate crisis we are inherently confronting the systems of colonization and white supremacy as well,” Goldtooth said. “In order to do that, you have to reevaluate how you relate to the world around you and define what your obligations are to the world around you. It’s more than just stopping fracking development and pipelines and it’s more than just developing clean energy, it’s about actually fundamentally changing how we see the world itself.”
If you want to lessen climate change, this is the way to do it
And the Wet’suwet’en people need your help right now

*pretends to be shocked but also maybe this will make people realize that Indigenous People Know What The Hell They’re Doing and Deserve Respect*
3 other fun/cool facts about the Inuit:
1. They also invented kayaks and dog booties.
Dog booties are actually really important for working sled dogs in winter to protect their paw pads from iceburn and keep ice from getting in between their toes and burning them that way.
2. The traditional Inuit diet is one of the healthiest in the world, and the most balanced for the ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 consumption
Most modern diets consume way too much Omega 6 and not enough Omega 3.
3. Inuit is a plural noun. When speaking about a single person the correct word is Inuk (always capitalized)
For example, “This Inuk woman is wearing traditional Inuit tattoos”.
And she is wonderful
Never a bad time to remember that indigenous people are wonderful and deserve to have a good day.
Speaking of alt dudes, where 👏are 👏all 👏the 👏alt 👏Indigenous 👏characters!? Literally can only think of Delsin Rowe, but I need more!
First chapter to a new fic, Growing Pains! I noticed there weren't many fics involving either of the Rowes as kids, aside from @elreyciervo's awesome series. So I made this monstrosity! Time conduit shenanigans leave Reggie stuck as a teenager. Featuring Betty's stapler!
