This incredibly beautiful art was created by an amazing and talented artist @iinnevvitable(in). She took my feverish musings, headcanons, and inspiration scene and turned it into this ethereal masterpiece. To me Elriel = Anidala in another universe, but with a happier ending 😉

Soft and gentle in public

He set her down gently on the foyer carpet, having carried her in through the front door. Elain peered up at his patient, solemn face.

But Azriel asked softly, taking a single step over the threshold and into the sitting room, “What other?” Elain’s brows twitched toward each other. “The queen—with the feathers of flame.”

Then Azriel, gently taking Elain's hand in his own, as if afraid his scars would hurt her.

Azriel gently removed the gag from her mouth. “Are you hurt?” She shook her head, devouring the sight of him as if not quite believing it. “You came for me.”

“This is Truth-Teller,” he told her softly. “I won’t be using it today—so I want you to.”

"Some people say it is magic and will always strike true." He gently took her hand and pressed the hilt of the legendary blade into it. "It will serve you well."

Especially as he gently said to my sister, “Happy Solstice.” Elain turned from the snow falling in the darkness beyond and smiled slightly. “I’ve never participated in one of these.”

Azriel let his shadows whisk away the box as she said softly, "Put it on me?" His head went quiet. But he took the necklace, opening the clasp as she exposed her back, sweeping her hair up in one hand to bare her long, creamy neck.

He knew it was wrong, but there he was, sliding the necklace around her. Letting his scarred fingers touch her immaculate skin. Letting them brush the side of her throat, savoring the velvet-soft texture. Elain shivered, and he took a damn long time fastening the clasp.

Azriel's fingers lingered at her nape, atop the first knob of her spine. Slowly, Elain pivoted into his touch. Until his palm lay flat against her neck.

He needed to know what the skin of her neck tasted like. What those perfect lips tasted like. Her breasts. Her sex. He needed her coming on his tongue—

Azriel's cock strained behind his pants, aching so fiercely he could hardly think. Elain bit her lower lip, and it took every ounce of Azriel's restraint to keep from putting his own teeth there.

"I should go," Elain said, but made no move to leave. "Yes," he said, his thumb sweeping in long strokes along the side of her throat.

Her arousal drifted up to him, and his eyes nearly rolled back in his head at the sweet scent. He'd beg on his knees for a chance to taste it.

Elain shudered, drifting closer. So close one deep breath would brush her breasts against his chest.

Ariel's hand slid up her neck, burying in her thick hair. Tilting her face the way he wanted it. Elain's mouth parted slightly, her eyes scanning his before fluttering shut.

Offer and permission. He nearly groaned with relief and need as he lowered his head toward hers.

Elriel really has it all 💙🩷

I love that so many of Elriel’s moments involve a garden in some way - whether it’s Elain calling Azriel’s scars beautiful before he leads them to the garden, Feyre noticing how at ease they looking sitting in the garden together, Azriel looking into the garden from the upstairs window, or Az staying up to listen to Elain’s gardening plans.

I imagine them having a moment in the next book surrounded by a lovely rose garden while the sun shines down on them (Rosehall maybe 👀) and mihaellustrates did such a beautiful job depicting this for me! She showed the longing between Elain and Azriel so perfectly and I’m so grateful I had the chance to work with her 💖

Happy Elain Archeron Week Day 6: Fanged Beast

One of my absolute favorite theories in this fandom is that Elain will be able to traverse the murky realm, like the Mystics in HOSAB. @wingedblooms incredible mind connects details in a way most only dream of and has helped to further my excitement for Elain’s book and journey. You can find the two main theories that inspired this piece here and here.

The first time we see Elain peer across the world, she is doing so as a trembling fawn, but my hope is that, she will peer across worlds on her way to becoming a fanged beast and embrace that side of her in her own book.

In this piece, Elain has left behind Az and Bryce in Velaris, and stepped into the murky realm, only to be greeted by a waiting Apollion, mirroring Az. Apollion’s black eyes, deep and dark as the Pit in which he dwells- a telltale sign that his relaxed posture is nothing more than a trick to give a false sense of calm. But I have confidence Elain’s fangs and claws will get her back home.
