hey elvis im really bummed lately about how commonplace it is to treat trans men as the same as cis men . and say things like that 'if its fine to say i hate all cis men why is it not fine to say i hate all trans men' . i feel like maybe i missed something because people on tumblr are acting like theres a big big reason that everybody hates transmascs now specifically people are acting like transmascs as a group (obviously i dont want to discount personal experience! anyones capable of doing bad thigns . but specifically like transmascs as a whole) are a big oppressor and abuser of trans women and like it feels like im the only one who didnt see the news report about how transmascs killed 40 people or something . what is going on !!!!

Heyyyyyyyy, daddy-o! it's a tough time for my trans brothers out there! Frankly even the King hadn't really expected this rising level of hummina hummina vitriol against our own community! Oooooo hachi-mamma!

#elvis-more-official #elvis-ask-answer #non-elvisified answer: i think a lot of tumblr users #have had a really backwards reaction to the increasingly politicized existence of trans people #specifically transgender women. and it can feel really hopeless! like the persecution of trans people is completely unable to be resisted #and if you feel like you can't fight the systems of power that have built this persecution against trans people #maybe you start lashing out against the people you view as just above you on that ladder #even if that isn't really reasonable and is only really doing harm to your community #i think to a lot of people being a trans man inherently comes with a level of privilege that trans women do not receive #(i disagree with this but it is rhetoric you hear often.)#so maybe you feel like even if you aren't dismantling these oppressive structures #you're still finding a way to stick it to the man. even if what you're actually doing is hurting your community #and making it even easier to divide us.#in the face of already staggering levels of oppression
