No, seriously, if you’re on a blog that expressly states whom they do not wish to interact with, and you fit any of those descriptions? Don’t follow, reblog, like, or message them.
Age limits? Respect them. If it says 18+, but you’re 17 years old, you’re not 18 years of age or older. If it says 25+, but you think that’s stupid and that they’d never know, you’re already disrespecting the person you are intending to follow and interact with. That’s really the way you want to start off? They have that rule for a reason, that you’re breaking it instantly should demonstrate to you why.
This mun says that they’re underage, and you are not? Leave. I don’t care how much you like that post of theirs, if they say no interaction with adults, you are a blog with mature content, or you’ve labeled your blog as 18+, that means you don’t interact. Being an adult means you’re supposed to be more responsible, not less. Check age before reblogging that aesthetic post or PSA, you may be breaking your own fucking rules, and it isn’t ok to go into a minor’s space when you state you won’t interact with them.
Other DNI’s? If they’re applicable to you, leave. Don’t think they’ll ever know that you’re whatever political affiliation or whatever? You know what? Absolutely possible! However, let me repeat this: you are already disrespecting the person you are intending to interact with in some way, is that really the way you want to start off?
Furthermore, don’t you think, if they’re that open about something contrary to how you feel, that they might have opinions that offend you? They do, they will. It also means that any time you wish to express your own contrary opinions, you either have to silence yourself or risk alienating/losing a mutual. This creates an uncomfortable and secretive situation, one that, in turn, can lead to silent grudges and judgements.
I find huge lists of, especially very obvious, Do Not Interacts to be extremely immature, so you know what I do? I don’t interact with people who have them. Doesn’t matter if I am none of the things listed, we’re not compatible. And that’s why people list those things right off on their blogs, to weed out incompatible mutuals so that we all have a better experience.
A fuck load of improvements could be made in the RPC if people would just read and follow rules, and this is the first rule you will come across on someone’s blog. Don’t be disrespectful instantly, don’t start off a relationship this way, don’t set yourself up for an unpleasant experience.
And also, list your fucking age limits. If you keep finding that you have no interactions, no one follows back, that MIGHT be a reason right there. The great majority of adults don’t want to interact with those who are underage, by not warning us, we don’t know to avoid you. It’s rude.
