Reasons why you should watch ‘Everything Sucks!’ on Netflix

- The main characters are a lesbian and a black kid and they end up having a beautiful friendship

- Aside from Oliver and Amaline, the kids actually look like they are in High School - Kate has a beautiful journey coming into terms with her sexuality troughout the whole season

- You can binge watch it in a few hours

- Is cute AF. Serisously, even the adults plot line is so cute I just can’t

- It’s set in 1996 so there is the nostalgia factor… And if you’re not a 90′s kid it doesn’t really matter, it’s still relatable 

- The popular dude takes one of the weirdos under his wing

- Did I mentioned is cute and gay AF?

- The adults actually care

- The soundtrack is pure gold

Everyone is discussing the age difference between Peyton Kennedy and Sydney Sweeney from Everything Sucks! And people are saying that it’s disgusting. Although I do believe that it was wrong to have a 14 year old kiss a 20 year old, I also know that probably none of you reacted this way when you realized that Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher were around those ages when they had their first kiss. You probably even think that they’re the cutest couple despite it. So let me just say that they are doing a job. It never went further than a single kiss. Anyways, other than that little problem with the show, it is really good. Please watch it. Do not make it to where they cancel the second season because you refuse to watch it but you will definitely watch That 70’s show. The actors are really good and they did a great job. Don’t let their hard work go unnoticed.

EVERYTHING SUCKS!

This tv series is so much. Theyre not just giving me lgbtq representation theyre giving me an explanation of:

Emotional incest, which is what takes place when your parents treat you like an equal instead of a son. This can lead to a several amounts of stress and guilt in ones life, and also can result in becoming an early adult, having to skip adolescence and going straight to adulthood, and therefore assuming responsabilities which are not yours. That scene on the ending where Tyler asks his mom to put some boundaries and distance between them was so healthy !!!

It shows clearly the differemce between an unhealthy (emalinex oliver) relationship and an understanding, trusting, supportive one (ema x kate’s one)

Ema never mistrusts or questions kate’s romantic feelings when she asks for her own space (she has to cancer a few dates and moments in order to solve some things of her own live). She respects Kate, trusts and supports her

Its starred by a black kid whos raised by his single mother and thats !!! So!! Important!!!

It focuses a lot on friendships and its importance, breaks with the ‘boys and girls cant be friends’ prompt, and also breaks with high school cliches as well, there being and insane amount of charavter development

TYLER AND KATES FRIENDSHIP IS SO COMPLEX AND BEAUTIFUL AND SOOO WELL ENDURED LIKE. Just. Its so beautiful.

It makes a lot of focus on internalized heterosexuality/ compulsive heterosexuality (compulsively trying to convince yourself you’re hetero to avoid feeling potential homosexual atraction. For example: putting up posters, faking a relationship out of pressure, among other things)
