Two lovely lady friends who started a blog as a way to have a little fun together when separated by cities. E currently resides in Houston (where we are both from) after adventures on both coasts. B is in Chicago to earn her PhD and Nobel Prize.

Ah! What better way to begin this blog again than with news of friendly travels ahead?! B, her partner, my partner (aka Lee Bird) and my new baby (Will Atlas ) are headed to Tulum at the end of August! 

It’s been some time since I’ve seen B and I can’t wait to explore cenotes with her, drink rum-based drinks and have an off-the grid meal at Hartwood! 

We’re all newbies to Tulum so recommendations welcomed! Expect a few more posts as we gather up where to go, where to eat and all about our airbnb! And since I’m a new mom, yes, there will be many posts about what to do with a toddler in Tulum!

Hey! Me (Becca) again. 

So that last post had me thinking (and I tweeted) about how sometimes I see a designer item that is a totally crazy yet super appealing.

Like, for example, this Betsey Johnson necklace featuring a bejeweled cougar. I would kill to sport this completely functional piece of jewelry. I would wear it every day, all day, for a week. Is it bonkers-nuts and Joan Collins-esque? Yes! and that's why I love it. 

I feel a little bad for the pattern vortex jumpsuit. It's just.so.much. It's trying too hard. It's every color all the time. It's what they dress middle school girls in, for some reason.

Anyway, I hope this glitters up your Monday a bit.

Hey Emily,

You mentioned that we should restart the Tumblr recently, since we're back living in the same city (Houston, hello) but only until the fall when I move to Chicago! 

I was browsing Nordstrom Rack's clearance coats online tonight, when I spotted this visual treat. I immediately wanted to show it to you and make some joke about how this is obviously the most appropriate first day of grad school outfit. 

Because I like my clothes to reflect my personal insanity.

The Danish Royal Family has a new portrait. Here's a few nuggets for you. I don't really give a shit about royal families. Maybe it's because I wasn't raised under a monarchy, but the appeal of it - is lost on me. But if all royal families could have portraits like the Danish royal family, I might be more inclined to want to know more. Like - why? Or maybe...but why? These are the questions I feel when staring at the Dutch void.

But more than any sweater, piece of chocolate, or any other type of materially thing I want to go to Paris. I've never been to Europe and in the four years Lee and I have been living like gypsies the time/money hasn't been enough to justify a trip to Europe. So for Christmas what I really want - are airline miles. I've already got a list of Airbnb spots on my list and a litany of places to see/eat while I'm there. 

I've been moderately good this year.

Also this! I've been addicted to watching Minute Physics! It's only a minute and makes Physics...well enjoyable. I don't feel like I've suddenly majored in String Theory, but I definitely enjoy the additional trivia knowledge.
