Pour beaucoup, Paul Cox est une figure tutĂ©laire des arts graphiques contemporains, revigorant rĂ©guliĂšrement des pans entiers de la discipline. Ses sĂ©ries dâaffiches, ses livres jeunesse ou livres dâartiste, marquent la crĂ©ation graphique depuis une vingtaine dâannĂ©es.
Mais si Paul Cox pratique le graphisme, câest Ă la maniĂšre de Schwitters ou Rodtchenko, expĂ©rimentant insatiablement et exĂ©cutant des va-et-vient constants avec les autres territoires de lâart. Graphisme, illustration, volume, livre, installations, scĂ©nographie⊠toutes ces activitĂ©s reposent sur les bases quâil explore quotidiennement en peinture et en dessin : proportions, angles, prĂ©cision, valeurs, couleurs, mĂ©thode, etc.
Le paysage constitue un rĂ©servoir inĂ©puisable de formes pour son travail. Il concentre ses prĂ©occupations esthĂ©tiques et sensibles, mais devient aussi le sujet dâune forme dâexercice dâapprentissage qui nourrit lâensemble de son Ćuvre.
