“always.” she responds back and it comes out easily, though not short of a half-hearted eye roll. “thank you ! i’m hilarious. who needs a gym and a popular lifestyle blog when you can just jump right into high quality meme based comedy ? “ she teases softly, flashing a grin at him. “don’t diminish my importance, jackass.” she frowns softly before it fades, because she knows ( especially by his blush ) that he knows he’s important to her. her frown fades completely then, nodding at his question. “if you’re buying, absolutely. you honestly don’t even have to ask.”

ember was no stranger of the bar, and she smiled happily when she saw max settle next to her, smiling over at him as a small greeting. “oh ! you should make your own vlog. i’d watch it.” she giggles softly, taking a sip from her beer. “although i do want to interject that you might not be watching the right vlogs. some of them are really good.”

it   H A D   to been at least the FIFTH time that the person directly behind in the line of queueing had stepped on the back on her heel. first, second AND third time, she had thought nothing of it. simply reached down and fixed the part of the shoe that had been smashed, continuing to wait patiently for the oddly long line for the atm. at this point, however, her blood was boiling within her skin – a meltdown only seconds from occurring. lis whirls around, fury fueling a bravado that could make any man want to curl into himself. “y’FUCKING kidding???” fists shake her sides, crescent-shaped markings pressed into her palms. “if you’re LOOKING for a fight, you’ll find it.”

she doesn’t WANT to get involved, but by the third time the person in front of her steps on lis’ heel, ember knows that the situation is bound to escalate. hell, ember herself would’ve thrown a fit too, but she didn’t have as much ANGER in her as the other did. the outburst came unsurprisingly, and ember steps forward, gently nudging the person out of the way. “hey, breathe.” she knows terms like calm down would just make things worse, but she isn’t about to let a brawl happen in the middle of a store. “you, back of the line. keep your feet to yourself.” she speaks to the heel-stepper, who was probably so terrified of lis that they just complied. “i’ll mind my feet, i promise.”

“no, no, you KNOW i’m afraid of needles. it makes me all squeamish.” the blue-haired girl also knew that ember’s squeamish-ness faded after a few minutes, but em didn’t feel like dealing with that right now. then again, her friend was quite convincing, and she was’t about to ditch her. “okay, okay. FINE. i’ll come and i’ll hold your hand. you’re buying me like, six drinks. so many drinks.” she huffs softly. “you’re lucky i love you.”

if ember was good at anything, it was letting people rant when they needed to. she couldn’t imagine being in eden’s shoes, anyway.  “oh, honey.” she sighs softly, leaning against the counter of a flower shop. “i can call them and tell them to shove their dahlias up their asses or i can try to help you special order some. i don’t know much about flowers but, anything to get you to take a deep breath and calm down.”

“oh, PLEASE.” ember’s eyes roll, taking a sip from the bottle she held in her own hand. “i’m not saying you’re wrong, i’m just saying that’s pretty damn dramatic. like something someone from a shitty rom-com movie would say before they fall in love with the protagonist.” she sets her beer down, tilting her head slightly. “anyway ! if you’re done being all pessimistic, i’m trying to sit here and enjoy a drink with you. and for the record, if you’re saying you’d be anything less than devastated if you lost me, i’m suing your ass. ”
