Nine years ago (April 9th 2009), we were introduced to the city of Pawnee, Indiana, and Leslie Knope, the deputy director of the cityâs parks department, for the first time.
I got caught in that dank ass thunderstorm this morning so i was all up in my wet clothes all day in class because fucking Denise wonât cancel class in fucking flash flood alley so I was walking through fucking rivers in a constant downpour and now im lying in bed literally can feel myself getting sick. Fuck you Denise

We're all aware this is a Baz Lurhmann Everybody's Free (to wear sunscreen) thing, right?
I almost have no words. It's crazy to me to think that people all across the nation have to have these types of conversations with their children. It makes me angry and sad. It makes me angry because we should not have to teach young children, who still see the good in the world that they will be looked at and treated differently because of the color of their skin. It makes me sad because there are people out there that are doing this! I am a 4th generation Mexican and very light toned. I know that I have not seen or even expierenced the discrimination that others have. I had one incident with a police officer after being physically assaulted. This was my first experience, at the age of 22. I realize that I'm lucky that the one and only incident was minor and that it occured at an old age. I ache for those who are getting worse. What I'm trying to get to, y'all just stop. Raise your children to love everyone regardless of skin color, country of origin, etc. Sorry for the rant, this has just been bothering me since I saw the show on Thursday. Have a good day everyone.

I saw a news report about this on T.V., she was a straight A Student who had perfect attendance and everything. Everyone loved and respected her for her skills, but when she started this experiment and people thought she was pregnant, they started treating her like garbage. Even her teachers started looking down on her like she was scum of the earth. The only people who knew she was doing this as an experiment were her school principal, her health care teacher, her boyfriend, and her mother. Her own siblings thought she was pregnant! I mean even her friends turned on her, it was horrid. Very very sad, and as soon as she revealed during an assembly that the pregnancy was false, a lot of people were in shock as she brought up all the horrible things they said and did to her because they thought she was pregnant. The reason for the experiment was to see how people would react and treat her if they thought she was pregnant, as opposed as to treating her as the straight A âPerfectâ student they usually did. And it proved that people were horrible scumbags to her as soon as they thought she was.
holy shit. this is fucking awesome
I read this chickâs book! It was so cool.
Her book is The Pregnancy Project by Gaby Rodriguez
Pretty sure I reblogged something about this in the past, but now someoneâs posted a book title and I want to read this book
I read the book and saw the lifetime movie
***SPOILERS***Â
She came from a family with a history of teen pregnancies but she was the exception to the rule. As her senior project she wanted to see how things would change for her if she âsuccumbedâ to what was expected of her by society and statistics. basically she told her bf for his permission and one or two school officials (I think her sister or mother as well but I read it soo long ago).
The teachers who didnât know immediately began to look down on her, most of her friends abandoned her. He bf's family told him to leave her and she basically became the school outcast. Only the other pregnant girls were friendly to her. At the end of the school year she made a big presentation to the school giving them facts about teen pregnancy and telling them about her experiences as a pregnant teen including things they had said to or about her. Then she finally revealed that she wasnât pregnant. Some people were mad that she had tricked them but overall they understood why she had done it.
Assholes werenât mad that she tricked them, they were mad because she exposed them for what they really were: a pack of shitheads.

Who puts their eggs in your basket?
I have never really done this before but I really need to get a couple of things off of my chest. I know that this will most likely go unread but I still feel like this will help me.Â
I am 25 years old. I am still attending university. I am STILL living under the same roof as my parents. I am overweight. This is not the greatest list of things and it for sure does not help with my confidence level. To add to the pity party, my YOUNGER brother is living in a rental house with his girlfriend, working as a manager at his place of employment, and heading toward graduation.Â
I have always felt inferior to my brother. Typically you would hear teachers and peers say, âoh youâre Xâs little brother/sisterâ but that was not the case with me. I always got, âOh youâre Brandonâs sister right?â I hated it.Â
It always felt that my parents put all their eggs in Brandonâs basket. I hated it. It was clear that he was the one that they believed in. Even when we were younger and those Career Point commercials would come on TV, my parents would make comments about that being the only way that I was going to ever get through school. Now, I am not putting down trade schools but I just hate that at 7 and 8 years old, they thought that I wouldnât be able to get through university. My parents would talk about how great Brandon would do; either getting a basketball or academic scholarship. All this hasnât exactly lead to a great relationship between my brother.Â
This all sounds like one big pity party but I do not mean it to be. Itâs just that today, it came to a head. My dad yelled, I yelled, I made my mother cry. I am writing this in between packing my bags. I donât know what to do.Â
i love the belchers
The Belchers are probably the greatest family

This is legit my boyfriend. The first question will ask and if I say no his reply is "I just put $20 in your account. Go get something to eat."
