   The stars are beautiful this evening. I love watching them slow dance in the sky. Sometimes, I wonder. When people stargaze, they point out their favorite stars -- the most beautiful stars -- and wish they could hold that star in their hands. Other people look at the same star and say the same thing, and maybe they see another star that is really pretty. âWow! Watch how it sparkles!â Before you realize, everyone is looking into the sky at one time or another and pick out the most beautiful star. They whisper a wish for anything they could imagine. Like the moon, however, the stars have to fade away and give way to the sun. But, sometimes, I wonder.

Turnip Triumph || Ivan & Mist
Ivanâs morning walk from the shrine down to the water usually happened around the late morning. Well, not that it really mattered. It wasnât as though he really needed to take a walk anywhere. He just liked to. It kept him busy while he waited out the morning. In this particular moment, he felt very groundedâ which was rare, but not impossible. He found himself concentrating on what was actually visible instead of the unseen. His eyes stared at the sky, not bothered by the occasional obstruction of trees. His walking stick made repetitive tapping motions on the groundâ in itâs wake, leaving behind small weeds and flowers. This was nothing unusual, though.
For what it was worth, he felt quite good on todayâs walk. In fact, he even considered taking his walk up into the forestâ Although that thought fell through as his eyes spotted something much more interesting. White hair⊠tending to⊠turnips? He wasnât certain that this was what they were, because they seemed as though they had been recently planted, but Ivan was certain that wasnât what Raguna had been growing last time he had stopped by.
In all this staring, Ivan forgot to actually speak to the girl. It was only after a long moment of inspecting the new sprouts that he looked up to find they were making eye contact with one another. He hadnât felt like he was being watched, but he brushed off the unnerving feeling with a smile. âGood morning.â
[áŠ] â Mist felt like Snow White whenever she tended to the garden and the birds chirped from their nests tucked away in the trees. Occasionally, a forest animal would wander astray from the forestry and linger within the proximity of the girl on the farmland. She would whistle a couple musical notes in hopes of alluring the creature to approach her, but rarely -- if ever -- did they do; which, in retrospect, was fine. For all the animal held knowledge of, she could be a hunter on the prowl for prey to consume or hang as elegant decoration above her fireplace. At least the morning songbirds tweeted along with the spirit melody of her choice -- it gathered the spirits of the island together and deliver their revitalizing energy to the crop in which she concentrated her hands -- similar to that of an assembly line.
In the middle of her harmonious tune, the sound of footsteps gracing the dewy grass nearby intrigued her. Mist continued to water the turnip seedling buried beneath the moist soil, listening for further movement from the unknown presence. Curious azure eyes followed the invisible path connecting the unknown presence and the vegetable, trailing upwards to the face of an unfamiliar man -- his chocolate brown eyes faintly reminding her of someone in particular. With her attention completely digressed towards the individual, she failed to acknowledge that her watering can became empty. "Hello. âȘâ She waved, offering an authentic smile to the conspicuously entranced gentleman.
âHm?â Mist abruptly spoke, tilting her head confusingly as she put the pieces of the puzzle together. âWait.. youâre him...!â
[ Date Auction Outfit - Mist Sorel ]
[ Paying 1,000G for trip to Leuda on Saturday, March 26th ]
[áŠ] â Since she was a little girl, Mist enjoyed dressing up into different outfits for different occasions, though they appeared rarely in her schedule; thus, she dressed up either for recreation or because she simply desired to. The Date Auction provided the perfect opportunity for her to do something exceptional from her daily routine -- not that her everyday attire bored her, for it was comfort considering her work, but to dress up delivered a sense of exhilaration through her -- almost childlike. Besides, her grandmother left behind pieces of beautiful jewelry after her death. One piece in particular was closest to her heart -- the silver turnip necklace made by her grandfather. It was confirmed prior to the clothing itself that ti would be included into her outfit.
Indeed it was springtime, but exactly how warm would it be in the city? Was the weather much different there? Leuda was not her destination of choice -- it was crowded and the lack of nature and runes merely threw off her internal balance -- so she knew little of the island. On the contrary, she never found much appeal in wearing heavier clothing -- not even in the winter -- but would a crop top be appropriate? Yet, when she tried it on with the white skirt adorned with a bow, it looked cute and complemented her features -- and her figure. Would revealing her stomach be too much?
Mist paid no mind to it, shrugging off the silly concern and changing back into original clothes. Afterwards, she selected some gold bracelets to wear along with another white bow for her hair, hence completing her outfit for the auction! Goodness, she was excited! Not necessarily for the romantic aspect, but she looked forward to meeting someone new. Of course, it wasnât as if someone would really want to go on a date with a weirdo such as herself, so she brushed away the idea. Now, the blonde scurried away to the bathroom to gather her hair supplies and begin working on her fine, straight locks.
Turn-ip For What || Raguna & Mist
@emeryradish
[âż] â- Several minutes had gone by at this point, and there was still no sign of Mist. The old farm owner had still been in his home, and knew nothing about the monster turnips until Raguna told him about them. After making sure the doors and entrances to the farmhouse were sufficiently boarded and locked, the brunette headed back out to find Mist, who â just like he thought â had gotten to the farm earlier than him today.
Just as that thought crosses his mind, he catches sight of a familiar mop of platinum blonde hair exiting through the doors of the horse stables, and Raguna smiles at having finally found her.
âHey, Miââ He starts to call, only to be cut off by one of the monster turnips jumping on his back and knocking him over on his face. âAghâŠ!â He yelps, wincing in pain as his cheek hits the hard ground. Damn was this thing strong to be so littleâŠ!
Before he could even swat the thing off of him, another monster follows suit and jumps on his back, as well another one and another one⊠soon, enough had piled up on Raguna to effectively pin him to the ground, and he couldnât move at all. If only he had brought his sword⊠but, maybeâŠ.
The farmer closes his eyes, and attempts to concentrate in spite of the annoying monsters piled up on his back. He breathes in and out as he tries to connect with the wind in the air around him, and as soon as as he is synced with the windâs runeâ
âStorm.
That simple word is uttered from his lips, carrying a weight with it that none of the monstrous plants would have ever expected it to. As soon as Raguna says the word, he snaps his fingers, causing wind to gather and swirl around his body in high and increasing speeds. The gathered winds create a vortex around him, forcefully ejecting the turnips from his back and blowing (even slicing) them every which way. Once the mini cyclone dies down, Raguna sees nothing but sliced and diced turnips lying around him, the faces and appendages they had before seemingly gone now, leaving them to look like the simple, harmless vegetables they should have been.
He then sits up into a kneeling position, his breathing labored and uneven. Storm was his strongest wind spell, so it had understandably took a great amount of rune energy to cast. The aftereffect left his mind feeling slower and unfocused, and Raguna glances up slowly at the girl he had been looking for.Â
âMistâŠâ He breathes, âWhat⊠what is all of this?â He says the word pointedly, obviously referring to the mess ofâŠ. dead?⊠turnips around him, as well as the other ones who were still rampaging on other parts of the farm. He doesnât think Mist would do something like this â she was an Earthmate, but he was sure their abilities didnât allow them to literally bring plants to life â but the fact that they were all turnips wasâŠÂ
[áŠ] â Crystal blue eyes fluttered open to the soothing whispers of the spirits calling out to her to awaken. However, on this early spring morning, they flocked to her with a message expressing their wishes for her to arise and hurry to the farm immediately. Without hesitation nor question, Mist unraveled herself from the cocoon of blankets enveloping her gaunt figure and stepped onto the carpet brushing the soles of her feet. She approached the moist window and peeked beyond the curtain to witness the sun just beginning to peak over the horizon -- the time, she realized thereafter, barely struck past dawn. In addition, the air surrounding her was different; unable to place her finger on it within that moment, she continued with her normal morning routine and walked out the door without even consuming a bit of breakfast. Needless to say, the young woman wandered by the door beholding her companion not casting the slightest of a glance -- something had occurred.
Soon, the farm emerged into view upon traipsing up the hill; nonetheless, everything appeared to be in order. She pondered the reasoning of the spirits urgency in her presence on the land, but it seemed that not even them were exactly apparent of the impending event. On the bright side, she could care for the livestock -- replenishing their fodder, bringing them fresh water, offering affection, and so on -- for these tasks were out of the ordinary for her. Normally, the familiar brunet she held in such high respects tended to the animals, whereas she would tend to the first plot of crops. Besides, there was not an adequate amount of sunshine available to start watering the crops; thus, with a stride in her step, the enthusiastic blonde walked to the barn and pushed open its grand doors -- welcomed by the noises of creatures acknowledging the young woman, prepared for simply another day.
Eventually, time passed, and this portion of the workload was almost completed. Mist hummed a song of the spirits to the horse while she brushed its mane, relishing the tranquil silence until a gusting sound rattled the barn walls. Her melody cut short by drifting eyes observing all around -- âwhat in the world was that?â Further investigation led her to the conclusion that this violent wind was not natural, but it was caused by a magical spell. -- ... âRaguna?â She placed her brush aside on a ledge and quickly ran to the barn doors, hearing yet another obscure resonance ring in the air. âWas this what the spirits were...?â
âRaguna!â Mist gasped, rushing to the collapsed young man lying in a battlefield of... white vegetable skin? âWait a moment..â she halted, perceiving the scene and the completely bizarre sight of walking and mobile turnips. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, part of her fell in love while the separate part remained concerned about Raguna. Gratefully, the decision was not hers to make, for he managed to stagger onto his own two feet without assistance -- none, or little, harm was done. âYouâre okay~. Have you seen these turnips? I wonder what tha--â she abruptly stopped, identifying the mystification laced in his confused tone -- more or less, they were on the same page. âItâs turnips! â« I wonder how they were brought to life... Were you in the middle of horseplay with them...?â
Girlâs Night In || Mist & Shara
marigoldengirlshara:
âIt is indeed~â Shara watched carefully over her friend as she shifted through the movies, a little terrified to be watching something like âthe hills have eyesâ this evening.  Her heart rose and sank as Mist placed movies aside, but it soared when she chose one of their favourites.Â
âOf course, I shouldâve known.â Shara giggled, plopping down on the couch. She snagged her passion fruit slushie and snuggled in the blankets beside Mist. âIâm all for making some cookies, but do they really have to be turnip cookies? You always eat them all!â And they werenât exactly Sharaâs favorite⊠wayyy to crunchy.
Taking a large slurp of her drink, Sharaâs eyes skimmed over the title screen, âMake sure you press play, I am not gonna let you skip to the part with turnip head this time, I wanna see the whole thing!â Like Howl helping Sophie to walk on air, that had always impressed the redhead and even though it seemed silly she wanted to have someone that made her feel like that. A rosy hue grew on her face just thinking about it.
Placing the slushie back on the table and reaching for a pillow to hug in her lap, Shara was ready. The pillow had become a habit after being made fun of for blushing every time a couple on screen kissed. This way she could hide her face, well most of it, she still needed to be able to see!
[áŠ] â Sighing a breath of defeat, Mist ceded to Sharaâs demand and pressed play once the opening menu appeared. Turnip-Head made its debut not terribly far into the film, but the point was made in that a considerable piece of the movie passed prior to seeing the scarecrow. Still, she found the details preceding the arrival of the character to be mostly insignificant; yet, the ginger had tolerated her impulse to skip this part, so the blonde decided to allow her to win this evening. Emphasis on this evening, for the next time they watch, they are starting from where she liked; however, before too long, the thought slipped her mind as the beginning credits concluded.
âI always eat them all because turnip cookies are so delicious!â She attempted to reason, giggling towards her innate admiration for the unconventional dessert. If this were an experimental recipe, then she should proceed to dabble in the culinary arts more often -- simply add a hint of turnip. To be fair, the blonde hummed to the beautiful studio ghibli music introducing the scene and offered a resolution, âHow about we bake other cookies and turnip cookies? That way, you can have the best of both worlds!â«â
Casting a glance on the other girl embracing her pillow, she tilted her head to the side and warmly smiled. A habit since childhood, she always thought it was cute how embarrassed she continued to get whenever there were public displays of affection on the silver screen -- rather, in general. âDonât you think this movie is romantic?~â

[áŠ] â When the clock struck midnight, echoing ominously throughout the dark and vacant apartment, Mist crossed out the day prior on her calendar and circled the text in black ink for the new day approaching before them. With a delighted smile spread from cheek to cheek, she reached down to pick up the heavy burlap sacks containing seeds -- many, many seeds. She struggled slightly with carrying all the bags within her clenched fists, but this day is what she had been preparing for all winter; in addition, time was of the essence. Before long, the sun would rise, and the people of Arcadia would awaken from their deep slumbers to celebrate the day alongside her -- the First Day of Spring. In other words, the season of the turnips finally arrived.
Quickly, the zealous young woman trekked to the closest farm dear to her heart -- Kardia Farm. She stood before the property and relieved a sigh of determination, tracing the lines of empty soil plots composing the wide field. Originally, her and her co-worker were supposed to plant newly appropriate crops in terms of the timeliness of the season; needless to say, there were a slight change in plans. âYouâre welcome, Raguna~â Mist spoke aloud to no one in particular, grabbing handfuls of turnip seeds and scattering them all around her. Occasionally, a diabolically twisted innocent giggle would expel from the girl, while she danced around and ensured that every single plot of soil had been assumed by seeds. Then, she filled her watering can and sprinted through the aisles of the field, offering some moisture for the vegetables as they settle overnight. Soon enough, the entire farm had been efficiently blessed by the almighty, precious crop that would bear a plentiful harvest in the upcoming weeks. The first part of her operation was completed -- now, the other farms were next: Alvarna, Selphia, Homeland, Forget-Me-Not, and Oaktree. One by one, each farm would be ruled over by the white vegetable. On that note, she headed onward to Alvarna.
Could this, perhaps, be illegal -- considering that she was, more or less, trespassing on other properties than her own? Mist pondered upon this as she sowed the remainder of the plots at Oaktree Farm, blatantly exhausted from the five farms prior; thankfully, this would conclude her operation in that every farm on the island of Arcadia now had turnips in their fields. Nevertheless, the deed was done; besides, she imagined that everyone would be more than grateful by the amount of work less they had to do -- they would think of this as a favor. With an accomplished stride in her step, the young woman staggered upwards from her lowered position over the soil, and started for home. In the distance, beyond the horizon of the ocean, the sun began to peak.
Girlâs Night In || Mist & Shara
@emeryradish
The living room table was covered in food, Big bowls of yogurt covered pretzels, popcorn and M&Ms. As well as two extra large slushies that Shara herself could never quite finish before it completely melted. She had chosen the items quite carefully, they were all food that could be easily eaten while watching a movie, or movies in this case, and they were delicious! Next to all the food, Shara had 3 small stacks of movies cases.
Despite it being so long since the girls had done a movie marathon like this, the redhead still remembered that it was Mistâs turn to choose the marathon. Shara was hoping for something romantic herself but she could never tell what mist was going to pick, sometimes she would pick a ghibli favourite, a horror movie and some crazy thing that Shara didnât even know how it had gotten in their library. Mist was strange like that, but it just made her funnier in Sharaâs eyes.
For a minute Shara debated turning on the television, it did have a 1 in 10 chance to internally combust if she tried however and that is what turned her off the idea. A broken television would ruin everything! She didnât know why electronics disliked her so much, but she didnât have time to ponder it now, The slushies were melting!!!
âMist! Come out to the living room please!â
[áŠ] â Since the sun peaked over the horizon that morning, Mist was deep in enthusiastic anticipation for the evening to arrive. As of late, the two girls had been bustling with work, such as Shara solidifying her ownership of the flower shop amongst other things, that it hardly seemed like they lived together. Nevertheless, they selected this night specifically to be cast aside for a girlâs night in -- something that hasnât happened for, goodness, the blonde wasnât exactly certain. It didnât matter, for night had fallen, and she was sitting quaintly in her bedroom, changing into pajamas in preparation for their movie marathon.
Upon hearing her beloved friend beckon for her, she swiftly leaped to her feet.
âIs it my turn to pick the movie?â She asked, approaching the coffee table layered with stacks of discs. Without a glance towards the redhead still gathering various items for their enthralling evening, the young woman hummed a brief tune as she sorted through what she did and did not feel like watching -- until she found it. Of course, the spirits had expressed to her the overall romantic sensation that her friend was experiencing; which meant, in turn, that her decision should appease to her greatly. Besides, one of her ultimately favorite characters was present in this special animation close to her heart and caused her to swoon in reminiscence.Â
âWhat about Howlâs Moving Castle? It has Turnip-Head in it. â«â She enthused about the scarecrow, inserting the DVD into its designated player; additionally, she was also fond of the relationship between Howl and Sophie. âMmm... turnips... we should make turnip cookies later!â Mist spoke aimlessly while she situated herself on the sofa with her cozy blankets and slushie. âHurry in here, Shara!~â
Morning, Sunshine! || Raguna & Mist
therunefarmer:
@emeryradish
[âż] â- Having been pulled from the darkness of sleep by a sweet voice urging him to wake up, the first sight Raguna woke up to was blinding light and the smiling face of a very familiar platinum blonde peering over him. After blinking a few times to get the grogginess out of his eyes, Raguna slowly sits up in bed and stares at the girl blankly with half-lidded eyes, as if he wasnât entirely of who she was or what was happening. âMwuhâŠâ He mumbles unintelligibly, staring at her as his mind begins to catch up, and realization gradually begins to dawn on his face. Wait a minuteâ
âWha⊠Mist!? What are you doing here, howâd you get inââ Well, that was a stupid question. He knew how she got in. She used the extra key he always kept under his mat. The real question wasâŠÂ ââno, why did you get in? Whatâd I tell you about coming into my apartment unannounced like that?â With a sigh, he cuts himself off. There was no use in complaining, it wasnât like she was gonna stop, and it wasnât like he would really make any attempts to stop her, either. As weird as it was, there was something⊠comforting, about the way she always came every morning.
Plus, her little visits saved him the trouble of having to buy an alarm clock, so that was a plus.
ââŠSo, did you make anything today?â If she did, it was probably turnip themed, so he was praying to the Goddess she would say no. âOr are you just here to get me up for work?â
[áŠ] â Pressing her palms on her thighs, she bent forward over his resting figure and spoke softly in an attempt to awaken him from his slumber. She had hoped that the delectable aroma of breakfast sweeping the room would cause his eyes to drift open, and yet, he continued to sleep as cozily as he fell asleep the night prior. Then, almost as if a switch was flicked, his stationary position suddenly moved upwards to a sitting formation with his hands brushing against his groggy eyes. Listening to his indiscernible grumbling caused her to giggle sweetly, finding his sleepy condition first thing in the morning to be amusing -- she stepped backward as his chocolate brown eyes gradually fixated on her. âGood morning. â«â
Clockwork ensued with his normal questions regarding how she managed to access his apartment, why she was her, and the reminder of what he told her previously during these encounters. She allowed him to express his piece, humming brightly in tune with his speech as she left the vicinity of his bed towards the kitchen. By this time she helped herself inside with no hesitation, she remembered where everything was -- the plates, the utensils, the condiments -- and everything else one would regularly keep stock of inside the cabinets. Once she prepared his meal, she held the plate with one hand and held a glass of milk in the other, and strode in his direction maintaining a blissful smirk across her face.
âBoth!â She answered his question divided into two statements, lowering the plate onto his lap and the glass on the bedside table.
âI wanted to make sure you didnât oversleep. We have a busy day ahead of us, so letâs start it bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! âȘâ The blonde giggled. âI didnât have the ingredients to make you what I wanted to, so I cooked some turnip-shaped toast. Oh, and you ran out of bread~.â
