question about the military life:
how is the army experience as a female? I have just grown up having people tell me that the army is made for men or that the army is sexist. I do want to go into the military when I get older, but just questioning which branch. ALSO YOUR ART IS AMAZING AND YOUR REALLY PRETTY 🤩!!!! Have a good day/night
I understand where those people are coming from, and unfortunately sexism is very real here. The army preaches about 0 tolerance for it and there are resources to report incidents when they happen. Sometimes it works, but It’s never going away, that’s just how things are unfortunately. Theres ALWAYS gonna be sexism.
I wouldn’t call the Army “made for men” necessarily as I’ve met a LOT of women in very high positions and there are female dominated fields within the army, such as intelligence and more complex things like that, but it is very male dominated population wise as a whole. That’s always gonna be a thing wherever you go. And there’s standards that are enforced that tend lean towards males and things like that. Such as physical fitness in combat roles. Females HAVE to pass the physical standards that cater more towards men if they wanna be in combat roles. (Infantry, medic, etc etc) But i personally prefer that. I don’t want to be wounded on a deployment and another woman NOT able to drag me off the field, you know?
Now Me PERSONALLY, I haven’t experienced any real sexism or discrimination in the time I’ve been in. Yes I’ve had my encounters with dumb boys but most of them have just been immature. I wouldn’t call it being blatantly sexist in my experiences. I’ve built very positive relationships so far with the men I work with. Most of them have been encouraging and I believe that that’s most of the REAL men in the army. They don’t think twice about your gender, they just care if you’re good at your job and you’re a good person. I haven’t been in very long so there is a chance I could experience more of that in the future. That’s always gonna be a chance. But I won’t let it stop me regardless!
There’s ALWAYS going to be immature and ignorant men. No matter which branch you go into. So just be prepared for that. Your strength and your ability is always gonna be challenged by SOMEONE just cause you’re a woman, And you can’t let what others say or do stop you or discourage you. You are choosing to do this for your OWN success. To be the best version of yourself YOU can be. Not to “prove” to anyone else anything.
Now about which Branch.
The Army definitely has the widest job variety out of all the branches. Any job you can think of that you might want, the Army more than likely has it. It ranges from culinary jobs, to aviation, to cyber security, to artillery, chemical engineering, combat obviously like infantry, medicine, nursing, marketing, hell even the arts. There’s an MOS for playing a trumpet.
But if you’re looking for better quality of life lmfao- I’d say Air Force. It’s not as physically demanding, it’s still pretty male dominated population wise but there is definitely a larger presence of women there because so many women go into intelligence! Which is what the Airforce is, it’s pretty much all aviation and cyber security, things like that. With the state of the world and all the technology that the military is getting into, you’d definitely be able to find a job in that kind of field.
Hope this all helps!! If you truly do make the decision to join, it’s all up to you and what you make of it. Don’t let others determine what you do but do be open minded and aware of any kind of risk. I don’t want to advocate or sway anyone’s decision or opinions about the military, this is just MY experience and my view of it and what I’m doing with my life to better myself. Theres always gonna be flaws, but it doesn’t stop me personally.
And THANK YOU SM!! I’ll be home in about 2 weeks and I can finally start posting again!!
