Sometimes I get really sad when I think about how alone Maverick was, before Bradley and Penny came back into his life, like the poor man spent how many years alone? Always being surrounded by people in the military but then going back to an empty hangar in the middle of the desert everyday? No wonder he didn’t leave the military, it was the only place he still felt like he had people even if they didn’t necessarily like him (aside from the dark star team I genuinely feel like they loved him) everyone else moved on, had families, but he was there surrounded by his expensive toys he fixed up by hand.

And it just gets me thinking about real Tom Cruise, a lot of us probably don’t think about it, I know I didn’t until recently. But I don’t know how close he is to his children, but he seems to be alone a lot- everyone else probably has their own lives, families. Of course he’s extremely successful but once he goes home he’s just…alone, surrounded by expensive and luxurious things but little to no one to share it with. How does he feel when the crowds dissipate, the credits roll and everyone goes home? It just sounds….lonely, I know Top Gun tried to glamorize it with cinematics but I can’t help but wonder if Tom didn’t incorporate that into TGM to give us a glance into his real life. It just seems…lonely, and I really feel for him- everything he’s gone through? And he’s just….alone.

He does a lot of public events too so it makes me wonder if he has trouble being alone with himself

"In the Navy" starting to play at the moment I was finishing this was pure poetry. This took soooooo long, I think I've been working on it for a month or so, but I really needed this since I was running out of steam on the Ask answers.

I really wanted a sunny happy vibe for this, since my previous paintings had more of a sad/angry tone. Happy Top Gun summer friends !!

But you can't convince me he didn't hear the car coming cuz he lives in the middle of the freaking desert. It's not like they were expecting doordash. So they clearly heard the car and were expecting someone.

Went and watched Miles Teller himself golf today and I of course had to do the silly trend using one of my FAVORITE HANGSTER FICS EVER WRITTEN BY THE TALENTED @indybob titled “maybe we were always meant to be” but yeah reading a Hangster fic while Miles golfed in front of me wasn’t on my 2026 bingo card but hey I’m not complaining lmao!
