bodyguard vs guarded with daryl with the prompts “Come on, let’s get you cleaned up.” and “I’ll always keep you safe.”? i know this is the bare minimum but hopefully its something you can work with?
I love this AU with him honestly. It's the one I feel like sounds the most like him. Also, you never give the bare minimum, you could give me two words and I'd do something with it❤️
"Why do the fucking walkers always go after me! I'm unarmed!" I yell loudly, fury running through my body as Daryl lifts me up into his arms with a pained laugh, marching me right up into the cabin with a sigh. He shuts the door with his foot before setting me down gently on my makeshift bed, curses leaving me as I look down at my bloody ankle.
"Ain't a bite right?" Daryl asks, kneeling down in front of me to look over my wound, my head shaking as I suck in a breath. His fingers work at pulling my pant leg up to look at the deep gashes, a cringed smile spreading across his lips.
"Got caught in tree root while running away." I huff, embarrassment crashing over me like waves as I bury my face in my hands. "I'm sorry, I know Rick sent you out here to take care of me and I'm not being the easiest person to care for-"
"Don't matter. I'll always keep you safe." He cuts me off and answers simply, a bit of the shame settling and a relieved sigh leaves me. "Even if that means getting you un-stuck from something you got yourself into." He snorts, reaching into his bag to pull out some rags and some alcohol wipes.
"Especially that." I chuckle, hissing as he tries to wipe away some of the dirt and blood and he mutters a quiet 'sorry' under his breath. "Thanks, Daryl." I smile, reaching out to pat him on the shoulder as he sends me a simple shrug.
"No problem." He replies, but his eyes say 'no need to thank me, I'll always be here'. There's a sense of comfort that his smile offers as his thumb rubs circles into my health skin, his eyes bashfully glancing away from me after a few moments. "C'mon, let's get you cleaned up." He sighs and helps me to my feet, wrapping an arm under my own to help me hobble over to the fire to get some more light.
"Is that an innuendo?"
"Shut it."
