I have a question for people with higher level characters on W101.
As a little background, my main character is a level 130 Storm wizard. I have 121% storm damage, 44% universal resist, 32% accuracy, 62% critical rating, and a nonexistent critical block. I’m not trying to “brag” or “show off” by saying my stats I have a reason for it hahaha. Now, being level 130, and being a storm, I personally feel that I get looked down on by other players the same level for not having better stats. And I wonder, does anybody else feel like they are being judged for how they are playing?
For me, I am happy with my stats. I know there is better gear for my level and I know my stats aren’t as good as they could be but I am happy with them. My experience playing this game as a storm is going to be different as another person playing as a storm. And the same goes for any other school. There is so much content in this game where I can have a greatly different experience than someone else and we can all get different amounts entertainment value from this game. So I feel like playing this game, it is kind of unfair to have a feeling of judgement for having a different experience than another player.
I’ve been questing a lot recently on my death wiz, which is where this really stemmed from. I reached the end of Khrysalis, and I beat Morganthe, so I decided to farm her for the amulet. I met someone in the game and I mentioned how I was farming for the amulet and I really wanted to get it. This person told me that there were better amulets to farm for and I shouldn’t be spending my time on that. Sure. I can see that. It’s true, there are better items I could be farming for. But that’s my experience. I can say I farmed Morganthe and annoyingly high amount of times just to get this amulet which might not even be the best in the game. I also had a similar experience when I told people I wanted to craft Revered weapons from the Arcanum. I was told there are better wands in the game and I shouldn’t craft this item. And once again, sure. There might be better wands in the game I could be focusing my energy on. But I want to have that experience of farming for those reagents and crafting the wand. I don’t mind if my stats aren’t the best that they could possibly be. But when another person tells me I should get a better item or I shouldn’t even bother, that’s when I start to get annoyed. It’s my own experience, and if they want to have that experience they can.
Anyway, I was just curious if anybody else feels that way. I don’t really know what I will do with that information I would just like to know if anybody else has similar feelings and experiences.
