Happy New Year! Looking forward to 2021, what are some things you can do this year to hold yourself accountable to fulfilling your goals? In 2020, I started my YouTube channel filled with music covers of me singing and playing bass. As a way to perfect my technique, I came up with the goal of posting two videos a week. Doing that held me accountable to always practice and being prepared to upload. Here's my top 10 favorite and most popular YT videos of 2020. And, the winner....my bass and vocal cover of Tom Petty's, Won't Back Down! Followed by Stormy Monday, etc. I decided to post a recap of both my favorite and most popular videos. 9 of the top 10 are of me playing bass and singing. Only 1 video of me singing without the bass made the top 10 and that's God Bless The Child. As a testament to practice makes perfect, and slow and steady wins the race, one of my last videos of 2020 has, within 4 days of posting, gained 80 views!!! Holy Moly! It made my top 10 list. That is a first! None of my videos have gained that many views in so short a time. Here's to 2021! May you work hard and reach all of your goals! This year when the world shut down, I turned to the one thing that has always been there for me. Music! In January 2020, I had decided this would finally be the year that I starting going to jam sessions playing bass and singing in the hopes of finding band mates. Covid 19 said, not this year. 2020 was the year that I learned if I want to do something, there are so many different ways to make it happen. So, I found the vehicle to perform bass and vocal covers. YouTube! Truthfully, I probably wasn't quite ready to start playing out this year. But, with me practicing daily and uploading two videos per week for the past 9 months, I damn sure am ready now! Reminds me, things happen when the time is right. Just keep doing your thing, preparing yourself so when opportunity arrives, bam! You are ready!
