Finished Helmet Texture
Will maybe improve the design later but I’m relatively happy with the texturing
The Garden of Earthly Delights
An interesting (if lengthy) slideshow on the symbolism behind Hieronymus Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights
Finished: Portfolio Piece 1
Rabbit
Contemporary digital game developers offer a variety of games for the diverse tastes of their customers. Although the gaming experience often depends on one’s preferences, the same may not apply to the level of their immersion. It has been argued whether the player perspective can influence the level of player’s involvement with the game. The aim of this study was to research whether interacting with a game in first person perspective is more immersive than playing in the third person point of view (POV). The set up to test the theory involved participants playing a role-playing game in either mode, naming their preferred perspective, and sub- jectively evaluating their immersive experience. The results showed that people were more immersed in the game play when viewing the game world through the eyes of the charac- ter, regardless of their preferred perspectives.
WIP - Portfolio Piece 4
Gauntlet
Need to purchase a smaller brush so I can actually do some details
Finished: Portfolio Piece 2
Manchester Cathedral
Finished shield.
So I offered to detail my process out to a fellow artist buddy. I included all my failures and decisions. You learn from your mistakes, maybe you will learn from mine. My eye is not the best with color, so I still cheat a lot, siiiigh. Learning more all the time, getting better.
This piece took maybe 3 ″work” days total. It’s super messy (NO JUDGEY!) since it was a personal piece, and I was laying down enough for myself to understand. Thanks Izzy and Jason for your feedback!
I didn’t proof read it, so DEAL WITH ALL THE GRAMMAR MISTAKES AND MISSPELLS.. I may fix later, but this took longer than expected. It took exactly the amount of time it took me to listen through the entire Skyrim soundtrack on youtube.
Hope you get something out of this.

WIP - Shield texture
The texture appears really dark on the model for some reason, even when lighting is added

It’s essay writing season for tons of students!
After being a college writing tutor for over a year, I thought I would share my advice with all you awesome people on tumblr. This is how I write essays, but if you’ve got more tips, feel free to add them below.
Happy writing. You can do it!
did you reference live models for those gesture drawings or did you go off nude model images/ made them up
I did a weird in-between! I don’t have the money/time to seek out a figure drawing class right now, but there’s this fantastic youtube channel called Croquis Cafe that has live footage of models. It’s not as good as being there in person but I find it better than working from photos.
My first shot at creating a sort of tutorial/guide, telling how I do things. On this initial chapter we’re going over the handy matter of Hands. Not meaning to be an encyclopedic explanation, only showing my own methods and self-taught clues. Hoping somebody finds it useful! :3 I’ll do more if this one is received well. So let me know~
My thanks also to the supporters in my Patreon campaign, who helped me decide which themes to focus on for a start. And are actually allowing this to happen. :D Cheers!
Some works in progress of my first portfolio piece. Chose to do it in biro because I really love biro, however it escaped my mind just how long it takes to do a biro piece. So 4hours in and I’m still trying to finish the head. May have to change up how I’m doing it so I don’t spend the next 100 hours of my life drawing a rabbit (as fun as that may be).
On another note, I discovered too late that trying to cover up mistakes with white gel pen turns the biro blue, further highlighting the mistake. Whoops.
Component 1: Robot Butler. This is by no means the finished model. I plan on remaking it once I understand maya a bit better. I don’t really understand how to combine two objects and seeing as this robot is pretty much made of cubes and spheres that seems like a pretty important skill to learn.
Made a gun in class. First tried without using a blueprint however I found it really difficult to get the proportions correct and it just looked weird so I used a blueprint in the end. maximum 1000 polys. This is 978.
