all varnished and done! I love how it looks on my bedside table next to my plants and salt lamp 😍 I’m pretty over painting acne faces for a bit, but I felt like I achieved a nice balance between someone seen as unsightly and unattractive as ‘bad’ skin by having the figure in a pretty stoic composition and having it against a white toned background to make it seem a lot lighter emotionally than the subject actually is. You feel me?

I fixed it! I got rid of a few details that were on the reference picture but just weren’t translating well into oils and now that I finally got some really fine brushes (from @riotartandcraft)I was able to go in and add tiny brushstroke highlights and lowlights! 😍🙏🏼 Now I just have to varnish the thing when it’s dry ☺️

Posting an old sketch I did in 2015 because I have nothing else to post with being at the beach and getting sunburnt 😡😭

On a quick getaway and because I’m being obsessed with being as productive as possible I sketched the verandah on the place we are staying at. Brought back memories of being in geography class doing field sketches and usually being the only drawer in the class and getting mad praise for what was in reality not a good drawing. I think I might have peaked then. I show my 8 year old brother this finished sketch tonight and he literally tells me ‘at least you tried’. MY HEART BREAKS

Looking through my year 12 folio made me miss sitting and intensely drawing dinosaur bones and fossils. Here is my favourite fossil from my favourite dinosaur, the archaeopteryx. 🦖 I should have become a palaeontologist smh
