This is great
In “The Kind of Light That Shines on Texas” by Reginald McKnight I feel that one of the common ideas that stick out is the fact that some African American students feel they need to blend in with their white peers because of the snarky remarks made by teachers and other students. I mean that joke the teacher said to the class? Talk about rude! I feel this picture shows what some black students were feeling during the 1960s. They were trying to fit in with their peers, but under that mask they were disgusted with who they were or with how people were treating them. Also, it must feel awful to be told that you should be embarrassed for who you are because someone of the same race did something to make them seem unlikeable. African Americans shouldn't be told to cover up who they are because their different. We’re all different! And we should embrace it!

Why did I pick to play Steve?!
Okay so when I was playing Steve, I couldn't believe the words that were coming out of my mouth! I was utterly shocked that he said that in front of an African American family! Personally, besides price, I will never understand how people can get so butt hurt about who they live next to. People are people! And if you don't like it, then stay out their business! I mean seriously between Karl and Steve (since I played both characters) I'm just like what? I really am not sure what side to take here, so I'm just gonna sit back, relax, and enjoy the show I guess!
Kaaaaaarrrrrllllllll
Have you ever had that one friend who always butts in even when you tell them to leave? That’s Karl. All the other characters clearly want him to shut up and leave but he just can’t seem to understand that. It made me think a lot into his character. I wonder why he is like that. Maybe it was a result of his childhood. Maybe his parents didn’t really listen to him when he had something to say. Or maybe they never valued his opinion. So now he makes sure that his voice is heard even when it’s not wanted. What do you think?
Russ @ Karl when he enters his house
If you haven't noticed, I love the show Archer.

What I was saying in my head while reading Karl's lines 😂
Women of Clybourne Park
Okay so Bev is an interesting character. She's the kind of woman who's intentions are always good, but when it comes to the knowledge of the situation at hand, she's a little ditsy. How can you know your maid most of your life, claim to be friends with her, and not even know how many children her and her husband have together? I mean, really? And then there's Betsy, bless her for staying with a jerk like Karl! (I hate Karl for those who don't know). But anyway, I believe that Betsy is kind of like a charity case for Karl, like he's only married to her because he wants to look like a good person for taking care of a deaf woman. There was even a point where he forgot she was deaf! How do you forget that?! I hope I learn more about their story because I want some answers about Karl.

Accurate representation of how Cory roasted Troy
Please ignore the language. I apologize, but the gif was too good.
I'm so sad this play is over, can you tell?
Cory's Lesson
I love how Cory ended up becoming successful in the Marine Corp! That's so awesome! I also love that Cory talks so highly of the woman he plans on marrying, and it makes me hope that he doesn't turn out to be completely like Troy. What I mean by that is, I hope Cory does the good that Troy did, but I also hope that he takes the bad that Troy did as a lesson. If there was a continuation of the play, that showed Cory's life later on, I would hope to see a happy, growing family. No lies, no cheating, and no form of abuse. The fact that Cory did something great with his life warms my heart, especially since he was denied a bright future because of his father. I believe that Cory is going to make his life great, and be a great husband and father as well. When Rose said that Troy will always live in Cory, I couldn't agree more, and I hope Cory is able to provide for his family like Troy. However, I hope Cory learned a lesson from Troy: sometimes your child needs to take their own path, not the one you've drawn out for them. Their happiness and successfulness will be determined by them, not by the hands of their father.
If Rose was Misty and Troy was Snorlax. That is their marriage.
