And some good news I would like to share!
It was a fun semester while we were together and I was happy to stay connected via tumblr! I’m gonna miss Rutgers and I wish everyone the best of luck in the future! Stay safe ❤️

Selfie!
So one thing that a lot of people may not know about me is that I looovvveee sewing and fashion/costume design. I’ve been sewing since I was about 7. For one of my classes we were given the opportunity to create a self portrait using any medium so of course I chose to do a design! This design is a monster! 40 yards of tulle. Hundreds of flowers and pearls and crystals! I’m so happy with how it came out! Here is a mini photo shoot I did in my room! When it gets warmer and brighter out I’ll have my brother (an excellent photographer) take professional photos for me so I can put it in my design portfolio.
Wow this dress is stunning !!!! 😍 incredible !
A personal creative project!
My senior thesis was all about voting and this year marks 100 years since women won the right to vote!
I had to create three mediums for my thesis and because of the current predicament I actually had time to create this fourth piece which I thought was a really nice way to celebrate us women!
All illustrations are made from one line! 😅
I’ve been dressed down for quarantine since day one lol but here’s a selfie of me and my roommate!
We’re a little excited cause our bark box came with new toys!
I was asked to recreate Islamic art for my Islamic art history class and I remember our discussion about what could be used as a surface to paint on so I tried thinking outside of the box!
Im going to take a shot at painting this illustrated portrait of my sister!
I decided to illustrate it first so I could sketch it out before painting it. My sister is a nurse and is currently working at two hospitals and in the COVID ward some nights. I think nurses are a great sign of hope right now which is why I’m using the illustrative style of Obama’s hope poster. Can’t waist to get started !
An update from my last painting with some of Anna’s feedback :)
Here’s another image I wanted to paint.
Instead of focusing on warm and cool colors I really wanted to focus on a unified texture in this painting.
Mary Heilmann
I really enjoyed the video on painter Mary Heilmann. I find her work to be very satisfying with her use of color, strokes and abstract minimal compositions even though she said that she wanted to cause trouble and go against a status quo. I guess it’s an aesthetic thing.
I agree with her that titles can help put emotion into an abstract work as well. Especially since she is uses poems as her titles which are typically metaphorical which can in turn make the artwork imaginative.
Some other things that I noticed about herself is that she mixes paint in a paper cup which I thought was humbling and that she really has an interesting technique when it comes to painting and applying brushstrokes. Something I would like to try in the future.

Before I watch the videos Anna posted for the day I just thought I share one that I really enjoy watching.
“I needed color.”
