I just saw someone say that Beetlejuice didn't want to marry Lydia (talking about the sequel) because he had feelings for her, but rather because he just wanted his ticket to freedom... People... the denial is real. The terms of the contract have been known for a long time. We know this new marriage involved Lydia's life *and* her death. Like... even in death, she would remain his wife. If Beetlejuice didn't love her, that rule wouldn't exist. Not to mention that after all these years—if freedom was all he cared about—he wouldn't have stayed obsessed with Lydia for all those damn years! What would be the point of clinging to someone you can't easily trick anymore if freedom was the only thing he wanted? He has a photo of her on his desk! He got her out of an abusive relationship, and brought her into the afterlife, even knowing it risked blowing up his contract! And ironically, their wedding ceremony was exactly what Lydia had demanded from Rory at the start of the movie. He doesn't even seems to really care when Lydia send him away again! He literally let her say his name three time to send him back! When he could prevent her from doing it! Like... the film even acknowledges a strange psychic connection between the two characters. Like... not liking "Beetlebabes" is one thing. But making things up to try and make it canon bullshit is another. In the second movie, Beetlejuice is in love with Lydia and he want his freedom. He want both. He love both. Simple as that. The only person in the second movie who doesn't like Lydia—and specifically wants to marry her, devoid of love and for purely selfish reasons—is Rory. They literally gave you a guy who's worse than Beetlejuice to highlight how much the character has changed in the sequel, yet you still don't get it?!
One jacket, but completely different characters from completely different sources.

is this just me or these two from "Monster University" kinda look like Beetlejuice and Lydia from musical? U know,
—a goth girl who only looks formidable, and her goofy ringleader partner, whom she has to balance out.
I've been thinking about this scene where Wolf throws the Betelgeuse special investigation file on his desk while he's interrogating him. Specifically, when there is too much dust flying off the document. Does this mean that the document has not been retrieved for a long time? Maybe because it is unnecessary, as it has been recently (prob more than 30 years?? See what I mean?) Beetlejuice was stand down. Running his department (afterlife call center) and doing clandestine bio-exorcism business there, and waiting for a perfect moment? The BETELGEUSE SPECIAL INVESTIGATION FILE should clearly contain evidence, reports, and protocols that were collected by the special unit of Jackson to investigate similar cases. Insurance fraud and other similar stuff? I also particularly like the design of his dossier. Typical for a movie scene with an interrogation, a government document (maybe there is also a temporary methodology regarding BJ). Diagonal black & white stripes and a sticker label with an "X", indicating that the material has a high level of accountability(or something else, more boring, idk).
So it is very strange that SUCH a document is covered with dust.
Well, or dust accumulates very easily at the Neitherworld due to the peculiarities of the inhabitants (dead tissue particles, old furniture, constant movement, animals that for SOME reason remain with you after death). Maybe someone just died somewhere in the dust and is now spreading it everywhere. Or vice versa. like. I'm very interested in how Afterlife works and what Beetlejuice's hiding
the start of something all over again
