i. You shouldnāt have to earn trust if youāve never broken it. ii. Never lose yourself in someone elseās identity. iii. There are places in your heart that are not for rent. iiii. The best love tastes like freedom. The way he treats you will be an echo of your own self regard. Set the bar high.
Letters to my daughter - Em Lyn (via emlyn-busyhearts)
She can grow a wildfire in your chest simply by spilling dirt through her fingers. She can take your hands, and with one breath, lure you to a place so far your ghosts will forget your name. And the reason, isnāt overly compelling, it is simply because she is easy to fallow, she is keepable. She fits nicely into pockets. Reckless is a word beyond her vocabulary, she is accessible. She is a curse wrapped as a blessing, because she will become so known to you, that she will in turn be forgettable, like leaving a place you havenāt been. She will become a book, your favourite book, left on a shelf lined with dust, lined with proof that paragraphs become dull with time, and familiar becomes boring. And you will forget sunflowers, and lilies, and ticking clocks, or how she takes her tea. You will forget the moon shines because she does. You will spend so much time cradling safety, that you wonāt fear the edge. You will step away, and she will slip. Love, no matter how constant, is a prison with no lock, it seems. So, just please remember her. Remember to put meaning into the capture of her heart, remind her why itās caged.
Just, please remember. - Em Lyn (via emlyn-busyhearts)
And, you will keep them, until the petals succumb to the weight of their own mortality, when they look down to the earth, pleading for the darkest of nights, when their veins crack, and shatter, till the thorns dull, starving, when dust collects along the stem, when vitality drains from rose to pastel, and sheds. Until finally, they will collapse into their age, and wither in expiration. Destruction. Or, perhaps, you could have left them to the fate of the garden.
Or, perhaps. - Em Lyn
I don't care what you have done, or where you have taken yourself, you fight with every atom in your body to come by these small victories with vehement honesty. We are humans, with emotion that is catapulted by disgrace and temptation, we are the misguided and the misused, we seek health and are met by temptation. We make mistakes, by reasoning or impulse, we get the right things wrong. Darkness thrives in darkness, the only healing you find in this place is to expose your weakness to the light, you burn your fears alive, leave nothing but ashes for your demons to drown in. That, my dear, is how you build a god from flesh.

She knows who she is. She just forgot for a little while.
Donald Miller (via wordsnquotes)
And somewhere in this place, the tide is breaking, it washes up to kiss the shoreline one more time before the moon clutches it in silver light, and draws it home. And somewhere in this place, the sun spreads warmth over the horizon, while the stars wake up slowly to pastel skies, knowing it is their turn to shine. - em lyn
Change is an abstract concept, and once we can accept it without fear, we can let it unfold us. (via emlyn-busyhearts)
i.You left me in such a state that I managed to destroy the veins and vessels below my eyes, and then these people were wondering if I got hit, and I just said I didnāt take that one to the head. ii. Because the death was unregulated, it left scars on my left arm, guess my body couldnāt metabolize the toxins it didnāt intend. iii.Oh and then in the absence and overdose of chemicals, with my rib cage disassembled, each of the pair started failing. iiii. With fibres starving, and power sources defective, the rhythm slowed as my heart stalled, killing chambers in its process, that damage happened to be permanent.
What bad love can do - Em Lyn (via emlyn-busyhearts)
Something inside is hurting you ā thatās why you need cigarettes or whiskey, or music turned so fucking loud you canāt think.
(via dl0u)
I would just like to say that your place in this world isnāt between the ideas and ethics of anyone but yourself. Your talent, your value, depends on nothing but the way you plan to carry it. There are millions of poets, of doctors, of mothers, of renegades, that this earth must accomodate. All that should matter to you is where you would like to stand, not how high the ground is in comparison.
One thing they taught me, was that the moment you try to control the cravings, youāve already lost control. Demons donāt keep boundaries.
Itās all or nothing, all or nothing, Em. Lyn (via user-is-unfound)
Something about your clumsy talk, and lonely eyes, I must have known you from another life time, I must have called you home before, because I remembered I loved you before I even knew your name.
