he and spider man are on their way to work with Frank (or maybe fight Frank? Idk it’s been a hot minute since I read it) and it’s like, URGENT. They’re moving top speed. And then Matt’s like, “hey Spidey someone’s giving birth.” And while Peter has a minor crisis over that, Matt goes to help the woman while Spidey follows. And then-

Matt, a vigilante known for his bloody methods and multiple crimes he has not yet been absolved of, a grown man with an absolutely terrifying costume and who has been suspected of murder multiple times: *is easily let through to the woman and starts to help* Peter, a younger vigilante publicly sanctioned by the avengers and all but apprenticing under Cap and Iron Man, who saves cats from trees and treats kids’ banged up knees: I can help- Husband: *through his own active hyperventilating* HECK NO, BUG BOY. STAY AWAY FROM MY WIFE, YOU CREEPY ASS SPIDER Peter: ☹️

Peter: “You’re kidding.”

Matt: “You were bitten by a radioactive organism created in a poorly secured laboratory.” “Negligence.” “Failure to contain hazardous material.” “Potential illegal experimentation.”

Peter: “…I can lift cars.”

Matt: “Exactly. That’s medical trauma.”

Peter: “Medical trauma??”

Matt: “You woke up with wall-crawling powers and spider instincts. Do you know what that does to a teenager’s mental health?”

Peter: “…honestly a lot.”

Foggy, bursts into the room:  “Did someone say corporate negligence?”

Matt: “Peter was bitten by a radioactive spider.”

Foggy, whose brain runs on one operating system—LAWYER.EXE: “OH WE’RE RICH.”

Peter: “I don’t want money, I just wanted advice.”

Foggy: “Kid, advice is step one. Step two is court.”

And somewhere in New York, Norman Osborn suddenly hears distant footsteps and legal music like a boss theme.

Because the real superhero trio isn’t just:

And in the Marvel universe, that might actually be more terrifying than superheroes.

nothing on this god's green earth can convince me that peter parker doesn't have an ao3 account where he is elbows deep in a 'rise of skywalker' fix-it fic. like, fully invested in it, been writing it pre-spider bite with ned, who is just as enthusiastic about it. but the thing is, it's really hard to do updates when you are literally spider-man.

every three months he'll post and in the author's note there's some shit like "sorry this took a while, i got shot seven times :/" or "i know it's been a minute, i literally got hit by a bus and then stabbed in the leg, but i'm all good!" or sometimes ned would log in and post with a note "hey i'm a friend posting on the author's behalf, they're healing from severe hypothermia but promised an update, so here it is!"

and the fic just gets increasingly more popular for the author notes alone. a good handful of the comments are something along the lines of "i'm not even in the star wars fandom, i'm just here to see if the author is good" or "every update i cheer for another day the author gets to live at this point"

and any reader who is a native new yorker kind of pieces together that holy shit the author might be spider-man because the timeline adds up, and they just fully embrace it. spider-man will stop a robbery and the guy behind the counter will ask when the next chapter will be up. spider-man returns a stolen backpack to a girl and she'll tell him that he "really got poe's voice down so well, it's really impressive."

ned thinks it is hilarious. mj finds out about the fic from twitter, to peter's absolute horror, and changes peter's contact name to "friendly neighborhood ao3 author". but the worst thing to happen is after an avengers battle where peter took a pretty big hit and ends up in med-bay. and during a press conference, when someone asks how spider-man is healing, tony just drops "spidey won't be down for too long. the star wars fic will be updated within the week, probably."

ao3 goes down for two days.

School Spirits Episode 8 Thoughts

This is sooo long and in no particular order but I NEED to talk about this show with someone i’m going feral.

1) okay If you told me last season that Xavier would be one of my favorite characters I would’ve laughed in your face. But the way he just waved at Maddie’s dad at the end and was like “oh yeah btw I met your dead dad” was absolutely king behavior. He’s so dumb and I love him.

2) I am really hoping Wally did not cross over?? He said in season one he didn’t want to go like Dawn and he wanted a chance to say goodbye. I can’t give up the ghosts found family yet.

3) I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS SO DANGEROUS ABOUT THIS SCHOOL. WHY WERE THE LIGHTS RED!??! WHAT IS MR. MARTIN SO AFRAID OF!?!! I love a good mystery and I feel like I have nothing to go off of on this. Please share any theories. Like yes, Mr. Martin, I am and have been wondering why so many people die at this school for two whole seasons! Please tell me!

4) I feel like Simon and Maddie will kinda switch places in season 3? I’m guessing Maddie will be able to Simon, and Simon is stuck in the ghost world (for some reason?) so…

5) I feel like we have escaped the possibility of ahh of the new ghosts betraying the gang, but @/amphibiafanatic on TikTok brought up the point that Quinn is not one of the band kids named in season 1. I was rewatching with a friend yesterday and also thought it was weird, but didn’t think anything of it until they mentioned that Yuri was mentioned in S1 so they obviously had plans for these characters, and why not just make Quinn’s name one of the mentioned kids?

6) I think this is a pretty common idea, but I really don’t think the exit doors lead to the ghosts truly crossing over. If there really is something wrong with this school, these exits doors seem fairly suspicious.

7) The boxes with the clues that were sent to the influences had a note saying there was one final box. My fingers are crossed that it’s a box announcing a season 3? They seem to have been pretty public about how successful this season was, and awesomenessTV seems pretty involved with all the press release and cast posts for them not to renew it?

8) Charley still has no last name. 🥲

9) Janet. Oh Janet. I love you so.

10) we’re not gonna talk about the mess I was when Maddie was saying goodbye. I can’t do goodbyes. I’ve never made it through a found family goodbye without sobbing my eyes out. This one was sooo rough for me gang.

Anyways, I really enjoyed the finale although I really wish we wrapped up a little bit more. I know the point of this season was for Maddy to get her body back, which was accomplished, but I feel like I have a lot more questions than I did at the end of season one!

What do y’all think/head cannon about the ghosts’ siblings?

Wally gives me big only child vibes. He was his mom’s only kid so she put all her energy and time onto him, as well as all the pressure.

I think Rhonda is the middle child between two boys. With both middle child syndrome and being the only girl with two brother who sapped all her parents time and attention she faded into the background of her family. This caused her to form the bond she should’ve had with her parents with Mr. Manfredo :(

Charley has one sibling very close in age to him (1-2 years apart) but honestly I feel it could go any way with the rest of the aspects. I could very much see him being the both older or younger of the two as well as the sibling being a brother or a sister ¯\ツ/¯
