“Easy…right…” Regulus finished his own glass before being dragged onto the floor, his arms encircling instinctively. Dancing was a lot like flying, and with Emma, even more so. They moved quite fluidly together, and his awkward nerves calmed some. “No, I donno…” He chewed his lip, grasping her ever so much more, “I think my parents believe, but they haven’t pushed for much more than my idle promises.” Regulus paused again, turning his head to get a better look at Emma, their noses nearly touching. “Maybe I’m just being paranoid. What about you? Are your parents convinced? Are they here?”
Emma chuckled, squeezing his shoulder lightly as they began to dance. “Come on Reg, I promise we’re far better at this now than when we were twelve,” she said, smiling as he relaxed a bit. She did as well, after accidentally remembering their very awkward first dance as pre-teens.
“Hey, maybe they’re just letting you take your time. That can’t be a bad thing, can it? Mine are here, and...” she trailed off as they turned slightly, “..there’s my mother, with a grin on her face, so I think she’s pretty convinced.” Emma smiled up at him, but it fell slightly as she moved closer so she could speak quietly without being drowned out by the music. “Honestly, I think I’m most worried about Narcissa, Lucius, everyone from the house really. Do you think they’re buying it? I mean I have experience making my parents believe absolutely anything, but it’s not quite the same with them...” Emma pulled back to look up at Regulus with a worried look on her face.
