Nevertheless, it is still a ball and it is still your birthday.” Rodolphus returned to that tedious formal manner and drained the rest of his glass of champagne. “ And the wedding is only a few days away. You’re really going to make me call you sister-in law?” He placed the empty glass on a passing tray and pulled his ever present flask from his pocket, “Or will Narcissa do?” He took a long drink from the flask and scanned the room.
“Precisely, it’s two very different things that happen to be occurring on the same day.” Narcissa replied, her features hardening, unimpressed by his response. “Narcissa will suffice. Just because you are marrying my sister, it does not make you my family. Now if you’re quite done putting a dampener on my evening.”
