Chapter 28 Here We Go. Pieck sighed tiredly as she shut the door behind her. It was too obvious to her that Eren wanted to escape. Why else would he want to study something like boats? With a frown, Pieck started walking in the direction of the War Cheif's office.

Pieck liked the guests they had. She hadn't been able to spend a whole lot of time with them, but they seemed nice. She knew all to well that Eldians were fed propaganda; they were built on it. Reiner was a prime example; us eldian devils this, us eldian devils that, we terrible devils. It had been all he ever spoke about. Until they came back from the island, of course. They were all quiet when they came back.

Pieck gently rapped on the door, signaling her presence to Zeke before entering. Magath was also there,seated in the corner of the room. The blonde man spun around in his chair as she opened the door, guiltily snuffing out the cigarette he had been smoking before hand, and cleared his throat. Magath gave a her a short nod of acknowledgement.

"Good morning, Pieck. What can I do for you?"

Pieck layed down on one of the couches on the side of the room with a small sigh.

"Good morning to you as well, War Chief, and Commander. I thought you might like to know about a recent development concerning one of our guests. "

Zeke raised a brow, signaling for her to continue.

"Eren Yeager plans to escape."

Zeke nodded. "I figured he would try to do that at some point. I'll send someone to stop him."

"No, Zeke, you will not."

Pieck and Zeke both turned to look at Magath, who had crossed his arms and somehow looked a bit bigger.

"We will let Eren Yeager try to escape. Pieck, how exactly does he plan on doing this escape of his?"

"He plans to leave by boat. I don't think there is other reason he would have a sudden interest in boats, sir."

Magath stood and turned towards the window. "We will use this as an assessment of the boy and his Titan. I'm sure you all have the knowledge that nothing has been done regarding anything relating to him or Paradis?"

Zeke nodded. "Yes."

"I know the mission was a long one, but not a successful one. We have let them rest for a little over a month. It is time we get more information from them. There are quite a few things they need to explain. They brought us Eren Yeager,a boy who has a Titan, girl as helpless as a kitten, and another girl who doesn't give a damn about almost anything. Do we even know if the boy has the Founder?"

Pieck nodded. "I have tried to get to get Reiner and Bertholdt to talk a little more about it, but they do not wish to speak of Paradis."

Pieck could understand a little of why Reiner and Bertholdt were so hesitant to speak of anything. It was hard on them, and the fact that the mission was kind of a failure didn't help. But she still had no idea what had happened to Annie, or what Krista was doing here.

Zeke nodded. " I'll call them in after they've had lunch. Best to talk about business with a full stomach."

Magath nodded his approval. "Thank you Pieck for bringing Eren Yeagers escape to my knowledge. You may go."

Pieck stood up from her reclined position and stretched. "Yes sir. I'll be seeing you again after lunch."

Pieck exited the room quietly, thinking. Should she go lay down in her room, or be social with Krista? It would be more beneficial to get the girl to talk about Paradis, (not to mention just be able to talk to another girl) but she was also just a bit tired from the mornings activities. It would be nice to sit somewhere comfy. To her room it was.

She started back up the stairs to the Warriors lounge, but not before passing Krista. Pieck could tell that the petite little lady was worried, no doubt about Ymir. Pieck stopped the girl with a small wave.

"Good morning Krista."

Krista's bright blues eyes looked up at her, filled with anxiety.

"Good morning."

Pieck smiled at her. " You look a bit worried. You should definitely go get yourself something to eat, or lay down somewhere comfy. I myself am going to go rest."

Krista shook her head." No, I'm okay. I'm just...worried about Ymir."

Pieck nodded." I had assumed that was what was worrying you. Worry isn't good for your health. I have a weighted blanket you could borrow. It's good for stress."

Krista again shook her head." No, no! That okay, you keep it! I'll just go get some breakfast! Thank you!"

Pieck smiled. "Of course. We have delicious blueberry pancakes."

Krista smiled. " I look forward to them."

And with that, Krista was off.

Pieck smiled. It was nice talking to another girl. But now it was time to focus on that weighted blanket.

Plans Part 1

Eren sat on his bed, staring blankly at the wall across the room as he fiddled with the key around his neck. He had to escape. Everything he learned would be beneficial to everyone in the Scouts. He just had to get there. Somehow.

Ymir had already gone to get her Titan removed. No one knew if she was coming back alive. Krista was distraught with worry, so it was no good trying to get her to hop on board. Besides, they both seemed like they had settled here pretty damn well. Eren scowled at the wall. He was alone with this mission. The largest problem was getting back to the Walls. It took them three days by boat to reach here, so swimming was out of the question. So he would have to stowaway on a boat to the Walls. When do they go, and where would the best place be to hide?

Eren scratched the back of his head and growled in frustration. Thinking about great plans was always Armin's thing. Eren knew that he let his own emotions run him rather than the other way around, and pretending to be submissive had been extremely difficult. Now on top of that, he had to find a way to get back to the Walls covertly. It was damn near impossible, but he had to succeed at all costs. It was good that he had everyone's trust, it meant no one would suspect him of trying to escape. Now, time to get to business.

Eren stood up and paced his small room. First, he had to learn more about boats, and what they looked like. That would help him find a place to hide. Eren growled and moved towards the door. To learn anything, he needed to head to a place of learning- the library. Problem was, he had no idea where it was. And he needed to be careful of who he asked. Reiner and Bertolt both knew he was terrible at reading, he had to have quite a bit of Armin's help through classes on occasion. He sighed as he walked towards the stairs that led to the dining hall. He really missed Armin and Mikasa. What would they do in his shoes?

Eren chuckled, stopping at the bottom of the stairs. Armin would be able to outwit his captors, probably would have noticed everyone's weak points, and gotten out by now. Mikasa, she would probably muscle her way through, just to come home and make sure Eren ate breakfast and rested enough. Eren sighed sadly. He missed them just so much.

"Hello, Eren," said Pieck as she nonchalantly crawled up on all fours.

Eren jumped when he heard and saw Pieck below him. "What the hell?! What are you doing?"

She smiled lazily as she slowly pulled herself up using the banister. "Oh, just wandering around."

Ere looked at her quizzically. "On your hands and knees?"

Pieck chuckled. "Oh yeah...You see, it is because of my Titan. It is quadruped, which means I walk on all fours. As such, I tend to walk a little strangely at times. As a matter of fact, after a couple of weeks in my Titan, I do forget how to walk."

Eren blinked at her. " You can stay in your Titan for weeks?!"

Pieck nodded sweetly." Yes."

Eren scowled. "And I can only stay in my Titan for a few hours."

Pieck smiled understandingly. "Our Titans are built differently and have different perks. Mine happens to have great stamina and speed, but not a lot of combat ability. Yours..." Pieck squinted at him for a moment.

"What is your Titan?"

Eren frowned. He didn't want to give out too much info, but he actually hadn't the faintest clue. "I... actually don't know."

Pieck hummed, then sighed. "Bert and Reiner brought home a Titan, but don't know if they have the right one. I should probably speak to Zeke about this. What can you do in your Titan form?"

Eren fought to keep the scowl off his face and instead replaced it with a look of embarrassment."Not much. Transforming is just it."

Pieck sighed again. "I see. You don't know your ability yet. Oh well."

She blinked at him and shrugged. "You coming down for breakfast?"

Eren shook his head. "I actually want to go to the library."

Pieck smiled at him. "Oh, the library? I can show you where it's at."

Eren managed to smile at her. "Thanks, I would appreciate it."

"No problem," Pieck said, walking back down the way she came. "We have one of the best libraries in Marley. We have books on almost every subject, as well as some of the best stories. A very nice place to just sit and read. What are you looking for?" Pieck asked as she led Eren through the halls.

Eren hesitated for a moment. He wasn't any good with books; that was always Armin's thing. He could find the best book just by smelling it, it seemed. Eren would have no idea what book could actually teach him about boats, but Armin would. Pieck looked like she read a lot, though, so it might not be a bad idea to ask her.

"I wanna learn about boats. Like the one we came here on."

Pieck blinked at him quizzically. "Boats? Why boats?"

Eren shrugged. "Just cause it was the first thing I saw, and I want to understand how they made metal float. I'm used to smaller, wooden boats that we used to transport goods on the  river back inside the walls."

Pieck smiled as she reached for the handle on a large wooden door. "Well, as I said earlier, we have lots of books in here, and we have a section just on boats."

She pulled open the door and Eren's head nearly burst when he saw the size of the library within. It was enormous, larger than any library they had back inside the Walls. He could basically smell the words coming through the heavy tomes on the shelves.

" This is our library. And books on boats are over on the right-hand side, closest to the windows with the red drapes. Happy reading, Eren."

Pieck left Eren as he continued to gawk at the number of books that surrounded him. The sound of the door closing brought Eren out of his reverie enough to walk over to the windows with the red drapes and find the boat books he needed. After a few moments, he selected a few at random, sat down, and opened one.

It was written in a language he didn't know how to read.

No Need To Worry

Krista watched the window anxiously, looking for a familiar freckled individual. A few minutes earlier, Porco had stumbled through, looking numb as he disappeared towards the Warriors quarters. He didn't even register that Pieck had tried to talk to him, and just walked right past her. If that was what the reaction to receiving a Titan, Krista didn't know if she was ready for the sight of Ymir. There were so many things that could happen to her friend.

Ymir might come back blind.

Or covered in scars.

Or mentally hurt.

Or physically incapable of taking care of herself.

Krista began to sink into her worry, fearing every possible outcome that could happen to her friend. She didn't hear the door open, or the sound of boots on the wooden floor stop next to her. She was only ripped from her worry when a strong, warm hand gently shook her shoulder.

"Krista, you okay?"

Krista's sunny blue eyes turned to find Reiner's golden ones towering over her.

"Oh, yes, I'm fine. Thank you, Reiner," she said distractedly, breaking eye contact to return to the window. Behind her, Reiner chuckled softly.

"You know, worrying about her isn't going to help anyone, right?"

Krista sighed heavily as she turned to look at the blonde again.

"I know...but I can't help it! Everyone knows that this could cost Ymir her life! And Porco looked so...so out of it when he came back...I just...I just..."

Krista had turned her gaze to the floor, and Reiner saw her clench her fists.

"Ymir has been the only person to truly see me, and always has. She's been there for me since the start of my time at the 104th, through thick and thin, rain or shine. She may not seem like it, but Ymir is one of the most caring and kind people I've ever met in my entire life. And I want to be able to pay her back for her kindness by being there for her like she was for me."

Krista tilted her head up to look back at Reiner, who had quietly shuffled himself to sit on the floor beside her chair. Even sitting on the floor, he was still a little taller than her.

He nodded at her to continue, and after a deep breath, she did.

"Sorry if I got a little carried away, I just...Ymir is so tough and carries a lot on her shoulders, and she helps me on top of that, and I still haven't been able to pay her back. And now she is undergoing a procedure that could very well take her life."

Reiner nodded slowly. " I get it. I kinda feel the same way with Bertholdt. That guy has been through a lot and still manages to help me. But it's nothing to worry over, believe me. If I know anything, people like that don't care about anything else but the person they are helping. I know for a fact that instead of worrying about paying him back for all he's done, Bertholdt wants me to be my best."

Reiner cracked a comforting smile at Krista as he reached over and ruffled her hair. Krista blinked and blew rogue strands of hair out of her face as Reiner withdrew his hand and continued.

"So instead of worrying so much about your debt to Ymir, start showing her your best you. Show her that you are happy, strong, caring. Just be you, Krista," Reiner said, crossing his arms into his usual stance.

Krista looked towards the window thoughtfully. "So I need to show her that her hard work is paying off?"

Reiner nodded. "Yep. That's it."

Krista looked back at Reiner with a bright smile and said, "Thanks, Reiner. That's some great advice."

Reiner quickly looked to the floor and cleared his throat. "It was nothing. Plus, seeing you look out the window all sad and worried would have Ymir ripping out throats."

Krista giggled softly." She's not that bad, I promise. However, I have a favor to ask of you, Reiner."

Reiner looked back at her and asked," What is it?"

Krista picked up the chair she was sitting on and scooted it so she was facing Reiner and not the window. When she finished, she looked at Reiner and said," I want to know more about life here in Marley."

Reiner blinked in surprise. "You want to know more about Marley?"

Krista nodded eagerly." Back in the walls, everyone was familiar with every bit of the walls: it feels strange being in a location I know nothing about," Krista explained.

Reiner chuckled. " When you put it that way, I guess there is no way to refuse. Where should I begin?"

Krista thought for a second, then replied," How about the hometown you and Bertholdt always talked about?"

"Oh, Liberio? Sure. Well, it's basically a place built primarily for those with Eldian blood. it is built the same as any other town, just with less quality materials. We have schools, neighborhoods, markets, plazas...you name it, we probably have it."

"Interesting... and what do you usually do, Reiner?"

Reiner thought for a second, mulling over his answer.

" When I was younger, my mom would take me to school, and take me around the markets. We were pretty well known around Liberio, even before I signed up for the Warrior Program, so we were able to get good prices on everything."

Krista nodded thoughtfully, then asked," The Warrior Program?"

Reiner rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. " The Warrior Program is where a bunch of kids compete against each other to get a Titan, and also acquire honorary Marleyian status for their entire family. It happens around every thirteen years when the lifespan of a titan user is up."

Reiner watched as Krista frowned at the floor. "I remember hearing about that. Why is it every thirteen years that a Titan shifter has to die?"

"Well... it's because of Ymir. Not the Ymir we know," he said quickly as Krista opened her mouth to protest," but the Founding Titan Ymir, the creator of all Titans. After doing whatever she did to get the power of the Titans, she died thirteen years later. And somehow, her soul split into nine pieces, which became the Nine Titans we have today. Basically, since Ymir was our founder and by far the most powerful Titan, there is no way we can surpass her in any, way, shape, or form."

Krista blinked." There are nine Titan shifters all together?!"

Reiner nodded. "Yes, nine. My Armoured, Bertholdt's Colossal, Annie's Female Titan, Zeke's Beast Titan, Pieck is the Cart, Porco is now the Jaw, and the Tybur family's Warhammer Titan. The other two Titans are the Attack and Founding Titans."

"Which one is Eren?" Krista asked. "Eren has to be one of them, so which one is he?"

Reiner grimaced."We actually don't know. He could be either one. We are hoping that he is the Founding Titan though."

Krista nodded slowly, then asked," Why does Marley need the Founding Titan?"

Reiner took a deep breath." About a hundred years ago, Marley defeated the Eldian Empire, which led to the king fleeing to Paradis Island. There, he built the walls of millions of Colossal Titans that-"

"W-what?! You just said...that the Walls...were made of Titans?" Krista interrupted, shocked to the core. Reiner nodded solemnly.

"Yes, the Walls are made of Titans. The king, who had the Founding Titan at the time, made the Walls out of Colossal Titans. He used it as a threat against the entire world. Basically, if anyone messed with the people of the Walls, he would unleash what is known as the Rumbling; thousands upon thousands of Colossal Titans destroying the world just by walking over it."

Krista's face had gone a little pale as she stared at Reiner wide-eyed.

"That is terrifying..." she whispered.

"It certainly is a sweetheart. Now Reiner, stop scaring her," said a voice from the doorway. Krista and Reiner both turned their heads to see Ymir smirking tiredly from the doorway. Krista's face brightened with a radiant smile as she got up from her seat to hug Ymir.

"Ymir! You're okay!"

Ymir huffed as the tiny blonde wrapped her arms around her." Of course I am, why wouldn't I be?"

Krista removed herself from Ymir with the same bright smile." No reason. You know I worry about everything."

Ymir smirked as she turned and walked out the door. " I know. I was out for a little bit. No need for you to worry. Now come on, let's go get something to eat. I'm starving."

Krista nodded."Okay. They should have stuff out, it's only a little after one o'clock...," she said as she walked through the door after her freckled friend, leaving Reiner alone in the room. However, a second later, the small blonde reappeared with her trademark smile.

"Oh! I almost forgot! Thank you for the talk Reiner! It really did help!" she said as she quickly tackled Reiner in a tiny hug. He stood there, stunned, as Krista pulled away as quickly as she came and vanished out of the room.

A slight pink came over Reiner's cheeks as he registered what had occurred. A hand quickly rose to his face to hide the stain of pink as he rushed out of the room.

Reunion

Porco immediately awoke, gasping for air. He felt cold and clammy all over, feeling the coldest in his spine. He quickly rose to his knees, looking around him frantically. All around him, as far as the eyes could see, was sand. Just sand, and the heavily starred sky above him.

"What in the actual hell is this!? Where am I?" Porco yelled at the wind. He stood up, panicking. How long had he been out? Porco slowly lifted his hands to his hair and grabbed it, pulling on the copperish threads in an attempt to keep the panic in.

How far away from home was he? Where was he? How had he gotten here? What-

"Calm down, Porco. You're alright. Take a deep breath."

Porco froze. That voice...he hadn't heard it since....

Porco slowly dropped his hands as he looked up to his his still young brother standing in front of him.

"Marcel?..."

"It's me alright, Porco. Take a breath, you're about to go through a hell of a time."

Porco gaped at him in awe. "Marcel...how-"

"There isn't much time, little bro," Marcel said sadly, looking up at him. Sand began to swirl around Marcel" I was really hoping this would never happen to you, but I guess I can take comfort in you having this Titan. You are one of us now."

The sand stopped swirling, revealing several individuals standing beside Marcel. Porco immediately recognized the girl with the freckles and annoying smirk, but he didn't recognize the people to Ymir's left. His head was swirling; he couldn't grasp it all. Everything was happening too fast.

"What's going on?!" What's happening?!" Porco whispered as everyone's eyes began to glow a light green.

"You are one of us now," said the line of previous owners. The sand began to swirl around Porco, seeping into his bones, his muscles, every fiber of his being. He could feel it changing him, ripping him apart and putting him back together. Then there was a flash of light, and the sand fell from his body. Gone was his brother, Ymir, and the previous owners; in their place stood a place a small brown haired girl with green eyes.

"Who are you?" Porco asked her.

The little girl fixed her gaze on him like an long lived elder would.

"You know who I am, Porco Galliard. And you know what we are."

Porco nodded slowly. "You are Ymir....and we are one."

The girl nodded wisely. "Yes. Now, return to your new form."

Before Porco could comprehend what she meant, Ymir stepped forward and flicked him between the eyes, sending him falling through the sand....

"Galliard! Can you hear me?! Galliard!"

Porco shot up off the table, nearly headbutting Sienna on the way up. His heart was racing painfully fast, and his lungs weren't able to fill with air. His newly restored vision began to get fuzzy and black once more as he struggled to stay conscious.

"Porco!" said a far away voice. Something had grabbed his shoulders and was gently rocking him in place."Just listen to my voice. Calm down and take deep breaths, okay?. I'm going to keep rocking you while I do this, okay? I just need you to breathe for me, alright? Just follow my count. Breathe in... One, two, three, four....Breathe out...one, two, three, four... Breathe in.....

Porco breathed as instructed, inhaling for four, exhaling for four. As he calmed down, his heart returned to normal pace and he could breathe much easier than before. His vision slowly cleared to reveal Sienna, now releasing her grip from the bronzed haired male. Porco could tell she was concerned.

"Hey, Galliard, are you okay?"

Porco shrugged as he brought his hand to his now slowly throbbing head.

"I'm fine doc. Just a minor headache."

Sienna nodded, her grey eyes still concerned. She stood up to her full high and pulled a strand of dirty blonde hair out of her face.

"Alrighty, now for a little test. I'm going to check your vitals, then your reflexes, then lastly, your regeneration abilities. That okay?"

Porco nodded silently, spurring Sienna to begin. With a small gesture, Lucy came forward with a cart full of various instruments. While she worked, Porco spaced out, thinking about...whatever it was he had seen after his injection.

He knew for a fact that he had seen Marcel and Ymir, but the others beside them...they were probably the people who inherited the Jaw Titan before his brother. But that little girl....Ymir.

How had he know her so fast despite never seeing her before? Marcel had never said anything about a little girl when he had the Titan. He didn't even see anything from the previous owner until a little while after his inheritance. This was strange....

"Hey, Galliard. I need to you come back to the ground now. Time for the last test." Sienna had a scalpel in hand when Porco refocused on her.

"Alright. Get it over with."

Sienna nodded. "Very well, hold out your arm."

Porco watched silently as Sienna pierced his skin with the scalpel. It was surreal, seeing the blood form, then feeling a small bit of heat as the blood evaporated in a wisp of steam, leaving his skin as unharmed as before. Sienna sounded far away as she pulled back, saying something about the procedure being a success. Porco nodded, silently listening to Siennas precautions as she bustled about, ready to take him back above ground.

The next thing he knew, Porco was being led around numbly by Sienna, barely hearing anything she was saying. As soon as they resurfaced, he let his feet lead him through Liberio, all the way back to head quarters, past Pieck and her beautiful voice asking how the procedure went. He went past everything and nothing, passing through doors until he found himself face down in his bed.

With a weary sigh, Porco closed his eyes and gave in to the lull of sleep.

Jaw Titan Part 2

Ymir awoke to a cold breeze drifting along her bare body and the whisper of sand in her ear. Her eyes opened to see an infinite amount of stars, so close she could almost touch them.

Ymir cautiously sat up, looking around her, seeing all the sand and stars around her, going as far as the eye could see.

"What the hell?..."

She shifted to her knees and dug her hands into the sands around her, trying to make sense of how she got here.

"You are nowhere. You are within your own mind," said a young girl's voice.

Ymir froze, startled.

"Who said that?" the freckled girl asked, looking everywhere to find the source of the voice.

"Here," said the voice. Ymir turned to find a small girl standing before her. She had shoulder length brown hair, and startlingly bright green eyes. She couldn't have been more than 10 years old, standing before her in a ragged dress.

"Who the hell are you?" Ymir demanded, squinting at the girl.

The girl simply bowed her head. "I am Ymir."

The freckled girl raised a brow in confusion."What?"

"I am Ymir," the girl repeated. "No one more, no one less."

"Hold on...You said that I'm just in my own mind...so you are me?" Ymir asked, still trying to make sense of the child.

"No," said the girl, "I am Ymir."

As she spoke, the wind picked up, playing with the ragged ends of the girl's dress. The sand, picked up by the wind, swirled aggressively around the girl, forming a large cloud behind her. The cloud twisted this way and that, writhing until it took the form that Ymir knew all too well; her Titan, standing tall above the strange girl.

And then it clicked.

This was Ymir, the founder. The woman who was the mother of all Titans. The mother of all Eldians.

The girl stood before her, eyes glowing brightly, and began to speak once more.

" I bid you farewell. We must go once more. The cycle must continue."

The girl then turned and left, with the sand titan following her. Ymir blinked in confusion.

"Wait, where the hell are you going?"

Ymir tried to rise to her feet to chase the girl, but found that gravity was keeping her on her knees. She watched as the girl slowly faded into the sand, and as the world faded to black.

Porco watched quietly as Ymir was rolled out of the room by Lucy and Grey. She was unconscious, and her skin was pale. Sienna followed Ymir with her eyes until she disappeared out the door. Then she set her sights on Porco, who automatically stiffened. It was his turn to be stuck with a needle.

" Alright, Porco...it's your turn. Please follow me."

"Yeah, yeah, it's my turn to be stuck with a needle. I know. Just get it over with," Porco said as he reluctantly stood up, following Sienna into the room.

Once inside, they saw Leo thoroughly sanitizing the bed that Ymir had previously been on. He was finished within moments, and Sienna gestured for Porco to sit.

"Okay, Mr. Galliard, are you ready to take on the mantle of the Jaw Titan?"

Sienna had picked up a syringe that was filled with a green liquid that glowed slightly. Porco squinted at it.

"Why is it glowing?"

"....That is a very good question. I have no clue," Sienna answered, looking at the syringe in wonder.

"I would love to study it a little, but I'm afraid I don't have that option. Now, please remove your shirt and lay on your stomach. Try to relax your muscles."

"Will do, doc. Just get it over with," said Porco as he removed his shirt. He flung it on the floor and quickly sprawled himself on the table.

After giving the syringe a quick flick, Sienna approached Porco and gave the space between his shoulders a quick, one handed rub.

"Are you ready, Galliard?" Sienna asked, needle at the ready. Porco grunted what Sienna thought was a yes, and she slowly inserted the needle into his skin, not stopping until she entered the spinal cord.

Then she released the fluid. ..................................................................

Porco did his best not to wince as he felt the needle enter his back. It hurt like a bitch, but he wasn't one to admit anything as small as that. Then he felt a strange trickling feeling spread throughout his spine, and then...a foreign feeling of..bonding? Before Porco could contemplate what the hell it felt like, the world turned black.

Jaw Titan Part 1

Ymir nervously dragged her fingertips over the rough wall of the stone passage, distracting herself with the sharp texture as she descended underground. No Shifter liked being underground; it gave them really bad claustrophobia, because transforming would mean certain death.

They had been walking for several minutes, and according to Sienna, their destination was just ahead. Not that Ymir was looking forward to it.

"Ymir?... You might wanna stop now," Sienna spoke. Ymir looked over and saw that Porco and Sienna had stopped a few feet behind her. In front of them was just plain wall, no door to be seen. Ymir gave them an annoyed look.

"Huh?"

Sienna shrugged." This door was designed to be invisible. If someone wanted to break in and got this far, we hope that they would walk right past the door and get lost in the tunnels. They go on for awhile."

Ymir watched silently as Sienna gave the wall a solid shove, pushing it backwards until it slid to the side, revealing a solid oak door. Then she fished around for something under her shirt, pulling out a pendant and a key. Sienna quickly slid the key off her head and inserted it into the lock, opening it with a loud creak.

Ymir stuck her head over Sienna's shoulder and inhaled sharply. Terror slowly snaked it's way up from her stomach and wrapped itself around her heart as she took in the sight in front of her; a large, white walled room filled with white robed people and tables strewn with papers, bottles, and God knows what.

Sienna stepped through the door and spun to look at her companions, stretching out her arms with a small smile on her face." Welcome to the T.B.R.A., a place few people get to see."

Porco huffed and brushed past Ymir through the door." This place is already giving me the creeps."

Sienna dropped her arms and nodded. " Yeah, I know. Just wait till you've got the Jaw within you; it will be a lot worse."

Porco blinked, then turned to look at the freckled girl standing right outside the door." Is that true?"

Ymir scowled." It doesn't matter what the hell is inside of me, this place is creepy enough to scare away anybody."

Sienna shrugged again as she spun around and started walking towards a door on the far end of the room." Try to keep up, you guys!"

As Porco and Ymir began to follow her, Sienna whistled and snapped her fingers.

"Leo! Lucy! Gray! Follow me! We've got work to do!"

Almost immediately, two men and a small woman fell into step behind the scientist. The woman, Lucy, who's long blonde hair swished with her every movement, fell into step beside Sienna.

"Dr. Alchuwitz? What are we doing?" she asked, twisting her hair into a neat ponytail.

"I bet it's something to do with that Titan experiment the Doc's been talking about lately," said the dark haired man.

"I think so too; see him?" said the man with the messy brown hair, jerking his thumb at Porco." He's one of the Titan candidates."

Ymir folded her arms across her chest, feeling her stomach twist. She wished more than anything that Krista was here. She would calm Ymir's nerves, help her stay strong. But she wasn't here.

"You're all right," said Sienna as she led them through the door into another room." These two are here as a test run for our theory."

The work trio nodded quietly in understanding as Sienna continued to lead them through various labs and rooms. In them, Ymir saw more white robed people, looking through those micro things, reading things from important looking papers, mixing things in glass beakers.

Finally, Sienna threw open the doors to a room that looked different than the others; it looked like a lounge of some sorts, with soft, cushy chairs place up against the wall, and small tables stacked with books scattered all around.

"Welcome to the lab, guys!" Sienna said as she walked over to a closet and flung it open, shrugging off her sweater before draping herself in a white lab coat. Without missing a beat, she pointed at Porco.

" You stay here and find something to read. Don't snoop around and stick your nose where it doesn't belong."

"Why would I? This place creeps me out," Porco huffed, flopping down in one of the chairs. Sienna turned to Ymir.

"Alright; are you ready?"

Ymir nodded mutely, feeling claustrophobia clawing at her stomach. Sienna smiled at her comfortingly and put an arm over her shoulder, gently pushing the freckled girl towards a door on the opposite side of the room.

"Ymir-" Sienna was cut off by a shake of Ymir's head.

"Look, I'm going in that room and going through with whatever the hell you have in store for me. You don't need to promise me anything. This whole deal is a gamble, but I wouldn't do it if I didn't trust you," the freckled girl muttered." Now take me in there and do what you gotta do."

Sienna's smile grew a bit more as they walked through the door with her three assistants behind her.

"Thank you, Ymir."

The room looked like a hospital room than anything. There was a bed surrounded by tables that were filled with all sorts of medical equipment.

"Welcome to my humble abode," said Sienna as she and her assistants pulled on long white gloves." This is where I extract Zeke's spinal fluid."

Ymir nodded and sat herself on the bed." So is this bed covered in his monkey sweat?"

"Nope; we change the sheets every time he comes here," said Lucy cheerily, pulling on her own gloves." We have to keep this place as sanitary as possible so that Zeke stays healthy. Sticking an unsanitary needle that far down into the body would make someone pretty sick."

Ymir huffed as Sienna walked back over, pulling her hair back into a neat ponytail.

"Okay Ymir; do you need anything to help you relax? A backrub, a moment to breathe, or a sip of something strong?"

Ymir leaned back on her hands and smirked. " You drink on duty, doc?"

Sienna shrugged cheerily. " Well... Zeke gets a little thirsty after his appointments..."

Ymir chuckled. " Well, if that guy drinks it, it must be good stuff. Hit me."

"As you wish," said Sienna as she produced a bottle and a glass from behind one of the tables." You were right in guessing that Zeke only drinks the finest Marleyan liquor."

"Well of course; everything about that guy reeks of high quality," Ymir said as she watched Sienna poor her a glass of the "fine liquor". As soon as Sienna handed her the glass, the freckled girl drained it.

"Alright. Let's do this," she said, handing back the glass. Sienna took it and handed it to Lucy with a small nod.

"Ok, please remove your shirt and lay on your stomach; try to relax as much as possible; the looser the muscle, the easier the procedure," she said, slipping into a professional tone. Ymir removed her shirt and flopped onto her bare belly as Leo handed Sienna a freshly sanitized needle. A big one Ymir noted.

Ymir shivered. The last time a needle had touched her, the unending nightmare began. She shut her eyes and tensed instinctively as the needle got closer.

"Ymir, relax." Sienna pulled the needle away.

"I'm sorry, I can't. I can't help it."

Sienna nodded at Gray as she soothing lay ran her hand over Ymir's back.

"It's okay. I'll help you. Gray here is good with massages, he can help you loosen up."

Gray started to approach Ymir, but she shook her head." I don't like being touched."

Sienna sighed. She could tell the girl she had on the table in front of her had been through a lot of trauma.

"Ok then...can I sedate you?"

Ymir gave a silent nod.

"Alright," Sienna said as she walked away to a nearby table." I'm going to have to use a needle."

Ymir nodded again as Sienna picked up another needle and filled it with a clear liquid. The fear in her stomach intensified as Sienna turned back around, needle in hand.

"Ymir, would you stretch out your arm?"

Sienna watched as Ymir streched her arm beyond her head, palm up. Her fingers shook ever so slightly. The blonde quickly plunged in the needle and emptied it before Ymir could pull back in fear.

Almost instantly, Ymir could feel the effect from the drug now running through her veins. Everything got blurry, and she could feel her eyelids getting heavy. She could barely hear Sienna tell her to lay back down before everything went black. .......................................................... Sienna sighed as Ymir blacked out. The poor girl was traumatized from the last time she had been turned into a Titan.

Sienna turned to her assistants with a grim, determined face.

"Let us begin the procedure."

Ok, I was thinking; The Colossal Titans are all around 200 feet tall(according to my very smart brother).

The oceans around the world are around 10 miles deep(also according to my very smart brother), which is a lot taller than any Colossal Titan.

So the Rumbling is happening, but the second those Colossal Titans walk off shore... they're all going to sink.

Ymir

Ymir nervously dragged her teeth over her bottom lip, watching as the first rays of sun filtered through the window. Today was the day. And she was terrified.

Some lady was going to stick a needle into her spine, and hopefully pull out a Titan without killing her. A very tall order by any and all standards. 

Ymir crossed her arms with a huff, drumming her fingers restlessly on her freckled arm. She hated feeling anxious, scared, and helpless. Vulnerable. Vulnerability means anyone can touch you. The only person Ymir wanted anywhere near her was Krista, not some lady who had her life in the balance. Why did she agree to this stupidity again? Because she didn't want to be eaten.

Knock Knock Knock.

Ymir sat up just as the door to her room creaked open to reveal the black haired girl that was always hanging around the Porky guy. She gave the freckled girl one of her trademark lazy smiles.

"Good morning."

Ymir cocked an eyebrow at her." Morning. You here for a reason?"

Pieck nodded." Mhm. The extraction is in 45 minutes. I thought I should come tell you."

Ymir sighed and swung her legs out of bed." Great.... Early morning for me..."

Pieck yawned and sat in a nearby chair." Early bird gets the worm."

Ymir raised her eyebrow a little more." You need anything else?..."

Pieck shook her head with another yawn." No...just want to get to know you a little more. I've been the only girl here since Annie left, so I've missed having talks with people who...get what it's like to be a girl."

Ymir smirked and stood up, heading for the closet full of clothes that the government had generously given her." So...you wanna talk girl talk, eh? Like the whole thing we women go through each month that scares every man?"

Pieck chuckled." That, and other things. Like... Well...girl talk. Annie didn't talk much, but when we did, it would either be about our families or about people in general. She had some interesting views about our world..."

The freckled girl shook her head as she changed out of her night shirt." Annie was an interesting person."

"She was, but she was also really sweet in her own way. Did you know I used to be afraid of the dark?"

Ymir hummed her no as she slid her day pants on.

"I was. When Annie found out, she took me out to the training gym and taught me some of her fighting techniques. Then she told me that since I could now drop anyone who approached me, I had no reason to fear the dark. And from then on, I haven't needed a lamp on when I slept."

Ymir leaned against her dresser, staring thoughtfully at her feet." I don't know much about Annie, other than her mean kicks and cold attitude. Back on the island, at the end of our three year training, Annie ranked fourth out of the top ten."

Pieck ran a finger through her dark locks." Annie was fourth? Who came before her?"

"Eh...Bertholdt was third, Reiner was second, and Mikasa first."

Pieck blinked, surprised." Reiner came in second?!"

"Yeah. Why is that so surprising?"

Pieck tilted her head a little." Back when we were candidates, Reiner was the least skilled out of all of us. As a matter of fact, the only reason he became a Warrior was because of his loyalty to Marley."

"Wait... So you mean if Reiner hadn't gotten the Armored Titan...then it would've been-"

"Me."

Both girls turned to look at Porco, who was standing in the door way with his usual scowl.

"And it should've been me. That little runt somehow managed to weasel it away from me..."

"Oh. Good Morning, Pock. I didn't see you there," said Pieck with a lazy smile. 

Porco rolled his eyes before looking at Ymir." Are you ready? We need to get going, or we'll be late."

Ymir huffed." Yeah, yeah, yeah, just let me get my shoes on."

After pulling on her shoes and pulling on her red armband, Ymir followed the Pieck and Porco out of the room.

"Hey, Porky."

Porco whipped his head around and glared at her." My name is Porco!"

Ymir snickered." My most sincere apologies, Porco." 

"What do you want?"

"I wanna know how this whole thing is gonna work."

Porco sighed and scratched the back of his head." Well, from what I know there's a needle that is pulling the Titan out of you, then putting it in me."

Ymir hummed." I see..."

Pieck turned her head and smiled at Ymir." So Ymir, what can you tell us about Paradis?"

"Paradis? Well... It's pretty nice. Fresh air, big ass trees, people. I'm sure you heard quite a bit from Bertl and Reiner."

Pieck shook her head." No, they don't like to talk about it. Every time I ask them, they just tell me  what they said in the report. They won't tell me any stories."

Ymir blinked, then bowed her head." Well... I guess they wouldn't want to talk about it, after what they went through."

"How bad is it there?" Porco asked as they entered the cafeteria.

"How bad is it?" Ymir asked, puzzled as they made their way to a table and sat down.

"Yeah. Like how terrible are those "people"?"" Porco asked, crossing his arms over his chest. Pieck leaned forward on her elbows, obviously wanting to hear Ymir's answer.

The freckled girl stared at the table for a moment before answering." What do you think of Krista and Eren?"

Porco blinked." What does that have to do with my question?"

"Just answer it, Porky."

Porco glared at her, but kept his peace." Eren...is normal, I guess. A little too hotheaded, but okay. As for the blonde short stack...well, she seems nice, but she and I haven't talked much. I guess she's normal, too."

Pieck nodded in agreement." Eren's pretty cool. I like him. And I'd like to get to know Krista a bit more. They both seem like nice people."

Ymir smirked." Well, Eren and Krista are both born and raised in the Walls. So I guess I could say that our comrades back there aren't too bad, right?"

Porco stared at Ymir, then at Pieck, then Ymir again.

"Huh?"

Pieck was cut of by the sound of a door opening. Ymir turned around in her seat to see a woman in her early twenties with long, dirty blonde hair and a warm smile.

"Oh, good! You guys are here! Good morning," she said when she approached the table. Then she turned to Ymir and held out her hand.

"I don't think we've met yet. I'm Sienna 8Alchuwitz, and I will be the one doing your extraction."

Ymir took her hand with a smirk." I'm Ymir, just Ymir, and I'm the one you'll be sticking a needle into today."

Sienna chuckled." I like your attitude, just Ymir. You and I are going to be great friends."

Porco cleared his throat." So...you going to stand and talk for an hour, or are we going to do this extraction thing?"

Ymir raised a brow at him while Sienna giggled." My, my, what an impatient boy we have. Shall we go so we won't upset him?"

Ymir huffed." I don't really care,so sure."

"Then let us be on our way."

Porco stood up and stuck his hands in his pockets, scowling. Pieck stood up to follow him, but Sienna gestured for her to stay put.

"I'm sorry, Pieck, but I'm afraid you can't come with us."

Porco rounded on the scientist." Wait, what!? Why can't she come with us?"

"Rules are rules. No unauthorized personnel in the lab," Sienna said apologetically. Porco huffed. 

Pieck shrugged." Oh. Okay. See you later then, Pock."

"...Yeah, see ya." Porco and Pieck stared at each other before he turned and headed for the door.

"You guys coming? I have a Titan to inherit."

"Hello again, Miss Alchuwitz! And hello, Porco! And... Er... Hello, miss!"

Porco, Sienna, and Ymir where standing just outside the gates of Liberio, waiting patiently as one of the guards bustled over to them.

Meriadoc tipped his hat in greeting at the trio before taking a quick look over Porco and Sienna's passes.

"Alright, you two are going to the research center. Where is this young lady going?" he asked, gesturing at Ymir, who was fiddling with the hem of her shirt. It had been a really long time since she had last seen these walls.

"She's coming with us, sir," said Sienna, giving him a small smile.

Meriadoc scratched his head." Does she have her papers?"

Sienna shook her head." No, sir, she doesn't. She's a special case. Ymir here agreed to do an experiment with me, so she doesn't have any papers."

The guard stared at Ymir for a moment before shrugging." Okay. I'll let you three in, just give me a sec," he said before turning his head towards a small building.

"Peregrine! Unlock the gate!" he yelled. Peregrine stuck his head out the door.

"What was that?"

Meriadoc pointed at the trio. Peregrine silently said "oh"and disappeared into the building again. A second later, there was a loud buzz  followed by a sharp click, and the gate swung open.

"Thank you, gentlemen! See you in a bit!" Sienna called, walking through the gate. Porco nodded at Ymir to follow. As soon as they walked through the gate, it shut with a clang.

"Welcome to Liberio," Porco said blankly. Ymir shot him a look.

"I used to live here, jackass."

"Right. How long ago was that?" Sienna asked, slowing down to walk beside Ymir.

The freckled girl shrugged." Oh, about sixty years ago."

Sienna nodded, then looked over at Porco with a grin.

"You really should respect your elders, Porco."

"Shut up," Porco growled.

Sienna continued to  lead the two of them through the streets of Liberio, past the market square into the outskirts of the town.

Ymir couldn't help but look around at her surroundings in awe. Her hometown head changed so much, she didn't even recognize it. The street's she slept on were cobblestone instead of dirt, the buildings were made of brick instead of wood... It was all so different.

After a half an hour of walking, Porco huffed and crossed his arms.

"How much farther do we have to go?"

"Not much farther. Just to Anhohe Tot." Sienna replied. Provo visibly blanched.

"We're going to the cemetery?!"

"Mhm. There is a lot more than dead people there, Galliard."

Porco shuddered, and Ymir tried to rub away the goosebumps on her arms. The thought of going to a graveyard was definitely chilling.

A few minutes later, a hill dotted with tombstones came into view. Before it all was a big black gate.

Sienna walked up to the gate and opened it, ushering Ymir and Porco through it.

"Look, I know it's weird to have a lab in a place full of dead, but the creators of this lab built it here so.." Sienna drifted off.

"So?" Ymir prompted.

"So that the lab isn't found by the wrong people, Sienna finished with a shrug." Some  people would kill to have this kind of knowledge."

Silence fell as Sienna led them through the graveyard. 

Ymir began to read the tombstones to herself as she passed them; one said Jane Kierven, another said Samuel Curtis. All of the tombstones had the star of the Eldians at the top.

"To be clear, this isn't any normal cemetery," said Sienna, breaking the silence." These are the markers for all of the Eldians who received the honour of becoming one of the Nine Titans." 

Ymir cocked one eyebrow." Will I be buried here if I die?"

Sienna tilted her head slightly, thinking." I don't see why not. You carry the Jaw Titan, so that makes you an a predecessor to Porco. However, I do not want to see you in the ground anytime soon."

Sienna smiled warmly over her shoulder at Ymir, who shrugged.

"You seem to know what you're doing, so I believe I'm in good hands."

"Ok, enough with this mushy morbid bullshit. Where is the lab? My feet hurt," Porco whined.

Sienna chuckled as Ymir huffed." Technically, we're walking on it."

"Huh?"

"The lab is underground. When we get to the top of this hill, there will be a huge tomb. In the tomb is the door that leads to the lab."

Ymir yawned." Wow. It's so secret you can't even see it. Nobody would look for a lab in a place of the dead."

"Exactly."

A few minutes later, the trio strolled up the hill to see a massive tomb the size of a small house with a thick wood door bearing down on them. It was a dark, somber grey, and was covered in carved Eldian stars and what Ymir assumed were the Nine Titans. 

"This is it. Come on in." Sienna opened the heavy looking door with a heave, and held it open for Ymir and Porco.

Inside the tomb was a long, oblong stone table in the center of the small room. Allowing the wall were stone shelves carved out of the walls themselves, and they were littered with fresh and dying flowers.

"This is the memorial for the first Warriors of Marley," said Sienna after she shut the door." Harold Cargerman, George Elcott, Faye Smithson, Erik Gardner, Thomas Scultz, and Richard Tindle were officially selected for the Titan powers after Marley reclaimed them from Eldia."

Ymir leaned up against the table." That kinda explains the flowers. Paying respect to the first Honourable Marleyans seems like something people here would do."

"Mhm. Now, can you two look away for a minute? I'm going to open the door."

Ymir and Porco obeyed,turning and facing the corner while Sienna scrambled around, looking for the door. A few minutes later, there was a click, followed by the infamous sound of a door creaking open.

"Alright, you can look now,"said Sienna, waving them over.

I apologize for the horrible title. I had a title in mind, then forgot it. Sorry.

Ok. We read stories. And our brains do things with them.

Take characters for example. Give people a sweet, shy, non aggressive character, like Bertholdt Hoover, or Marco Bodt, or Izuku Midoriya. You know, three really nice guys. The human mind then turns them into this.
