#when you hear your mom come home and you havenât done any of your chores yet
@jcnathanknight
The news that the Clave members were heading to trial had brought back far too many unpleasant memories of that night, the sounds of the screams around them, the way Madge went lifeless in her arms... trying to find Jonathan and telling them that she had gone. She still dealt with the guilt daily, wishing there was more that she couldâve done to help Madge, despite the number of reassurances sheâd had from so many people around her that there wasnât much she couldâve done for the woman. Months on, she still felt it, and she tried to move on, even if only for Jonathanâs sake. Now the news that the trial was happening had it all flooding back, and she knew that she needed to check Jonathan. To keep his mind off it, or at least try. âHey... you doing okay?â she asked as she entered the room he was in, âMaybe we should go out tonight, go for dinner somewhere?â
kittymxstrxnoâ:
Kitty looked around as Emma spoke, smiling at her. âNo, I donât think so,â she said. âBetter to decide early on than to be scrambling around last minute for a costume. Although those can be pretty fun. One time I forgot all about it and I ended up wearing one of my dadâs sport coats, and my mom drew on a mustache and I went as Groucho Marx.â
"Groucho Marx is a pretty awesome last-minute costume.â she replied with a grin, âMy mom is so extra about the holidays, and halloween is no exception. She goes all out, I wouldnât be surprised if she hadnât planned it everything way back in January.â
makolahaniâ:
Mako balanced two plates of painfully greasy food, a pitcher of beer, and thunked each down on a table, looking over at the question. Princess! âShit, itâs almost Halloween. Uh, no. Unless youâre gonna go as a vampire. Way too cliche.â
"Itâs only cliche if you are a vampire. Iâm not a vampire.â she replied with a shrug, but sheâd mostly avoided vampires, witches and wolves over the years since sheâd landed in Hollow Grove. âAre you going to go as a princess? Braid your hair all pretty?â
melodydavenportâ:
Melody was working behind the bar when she heard Emmaâs voice. âNot if youâre planning something intensive.â she replied, wiping her hands off on her jeans as she turned to face the other woman. âBecause that would require that sort of time. You need to get all of the pieces together, plan your makeup, the whole deal.â She dressed up every year but usually went for something simple, a costume she could easily purchase online or in a store. âWhat are your options this year?â Mel asked.
"I wouldnât say intensive, but I donât skimp out on the costumes either I go all out.â she replied with a shrug, her mother had always loved halloween and so for most of them growing up, their costumes were always perfect. âHonesly, heaps, I could go Marvel but everyone does Marvel... something cool from an eighties film maybe?â
minaxfitzgeraldâ:
âNope,â Mina answered automatically. She was the queen of doing everything early, so of course she already decided on her costume-her Yennefer of Vengerburg cosplay and sheâs looking for her zombie one. âNever, ever too early to decide on the halloween costume, espically when you already have some youâve already made some for when youâre extremely bored and wanted to walk around town in cosplay.
"I mean, last year I just reused my belle costume from the year before and did zombie belle, I could always do the next days costume for this years zombie style.â she replied with a shrug, âZombie Catwoman would be pretty cool..â she pulled herself out of her thoughts before glancing up at Mina, âWhat are you going as?â
everleighkingâ:
âI do not think so, no.â In what limited experience she had with the outside celebration of it, Everleigh had mostly enjoyed the parties and dressing as something, or someone, different. She folded her hands, politely curious after stirring her tea. âHave you made any decisions yet?â
"Not really,â she replied with a shrug, âFeels like a weird thing to think about, given everything thatâs happening.â
alex-cunninghamâ:
Alexâs mind continued to wander, these trials meant that Morgan may get the justice that was coming to him after all, that she might be safe now, that she and Briar could finally live in peace. But Alex had been on the run long enough to know not to get her hopes up. Hearing Emma she was shaken from her thoughts though and it was a welcome distraction. âI donât think so, I mean now that you mention it. I am a little embarrassed I havenât started to think about it yet, but the sooner you know the better chance you have of getting the costume you want.âÂ
She offered Alex a small smile as the blonde began to speak back to her, when sheâd heard the news her thoughts had drifted to Alex and what happened at Blood Moon. Madge hadnât been the only victim, the only person whoâd suffered on the night of the Blood Moon. She knew it had to be playing on the other womanâs mind and she was unable to figure a way to find out how the other was coping. âYouâve had other things on your mind,â she supplied with a gentle smile, she found it all too easy to procrastinate, focusing on the smallest of things that would distract her. âThatâs true, I really donât want to have to go too far for it if I canât get it in town.â
beckettcooperâ:
Beckett really didnât know what to do about the Clave trials. He didnât know enough about what happened to voice an opinion, and he hadnât even been there - so why would he know what to think about it? He didnât expect that he would even attend the trials, he hadnât even been a werewolf long enough to know anything about them. âHm?â He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard someone speak. âI donât think so⊠Besides, weâre almost in October anyway.â
"Yeah, I mean, I worry all the good costumes are gone I donât wanna have to travel out of town to find a decent one.â she bit her lip as she continued to scan through pinterest for ideas, screenshotting one to send through to Issy. She glanced up again, eyes finally focusing on the man next to her, âSorry, was I interrupting you?â
isabellecresswellâ:
âItâs actually literally never too early to start thinking about a Halloween costume. I mean I feel like weâve come so far with pinterest in are arsenal that one really must start at it that much sooner to bring your A-game. So I look at it as properly preparing. Plus I love Monster Bash so no reason not to plan ahead. â Issy reasoned with a grin. âSo spill, what are you thinking this year? Cute couple costume maybe?â
"I wouldnât take the couple costumes thing away from Nick. Did you ever see the ill-fated puzzle piece costumes from last year?â the woman replied with an amused grin. Sheâd spent half the night hiding with Jonathan whilst Nick got into all kinds of trouble and ended up breaking his own rule about removing the costume, having lost it by the end of the night. âI was thinking Lola bunny, sheâs cute as shit. Or go on-track to continue previous years traditions and use last year's monster bash for this year's zombie? Zombie Catwoman would be pretty awesome.â
farrenlosetâ:
Farren really had liked to think she was better when it came to social interactions with strangers. In fact, her last three jobs and future occupation demanded it, but there were times when she could feel herself wanting to just block out the world and ignore anyone who dared to speak, such as nowâŠeven if it was while at work. âTheyâve had Halloween decorations for sale out in shops since August, I wouldnât be too worried about being early.â Even the music Farren had been asked to play in the shop in the next coming weeks were heavily themed around the holiday. âAnd if you come back next week you wonât be thinking itâs early at all. Weâre having a special on all music that could be considered Halloween themed.âÂ
She glanced up as she was answered, a small smile on her lips as she realized the other woman was right. It felt summer was barely ending before they were putting on decorations, âWould you believe there was a shop that had christmas decorations and halloween decorations next to each other?â the woman replied with an amused grin, âIâm all for mixed genres but damn, that even had me wondering what the hell was going on.â
wrenxaakerâ:
Wren had seen Emma around, she was always nice and smiled at her when they saw each other. Wren wasnât much of a social girl but she knew when an opportunity arrises, she should take it. At least, thatâs what her grandmother told her. Wren chuckled. âI donât think so, I know some people start planning their outfits at the beginning of summer.â She replied with a shrug and a smile. âI havenât given it much thought myself, though.â Wren continued.Â
"I tend to never stop thinking about it honestly, pinterest is a trap that I fall down regularly,â she admitted with a small chuckle. âI mean, itâs not something that you absolutely have to plan ahead for, Iâm just.. a kid when it comes to holidays.â
connorrosenâ:
Thankfully, Connor had been far from the events of the Blood Moon but heâd of course heard the whispers ever since. It had been a hard enough night for him; without his senses, he was lost in a black world of nothingness. So heâd been shut up in his room, listening to music to wear the night out.Â
But the town hadnât come through unscathed. People had died. They hadnât really gotten justice for what had happened, but Connor didnât really know what would truly serve.Â
Again the town was buzzing with gossip about the events of the Blood Moon, and he heard whispers of it from every direction. It was a blessing to grasp onto a comment that wasnât related. âNah,â he answered simply, head shaking, âif you want to have an amazing costume, you gotta start planning early, right?âÂ
"Thatâs true.â she replied quietly, âSpecially in this town, I mean, if they do the zombie walk again I gotta have two. If I go by the trend Iâve done the last few years, I use last years costume and turn it into a zombie one, then for Monster Bash come up with something new.â she mused, âZombie Catwoman would be fuckinâ amazing.âÂ
