"Elegy to the Void"

Elegy to the Void (working title) is a romantic slice-of-life fantasy story thing about a human girl named Alison and her giant wolf monster girlfriend named Elegy. They're both transgender. In fact, my intention is for the story to start the very moment Alison realizes she's a woman. They're also both kind of self inserts and I am not even going to attempt to hide that fact.

The setting takes place in Elegy's world, the inhabitants of which are mostly a multi-species race of 30~ ft. tall giants and a minority population of regular-sized humans. The infrastructure of the world accommodates both giants and humans. Fantastic racism is not a significant plot point.

In addition to Alison and Elegy, the current character roster is made up of Elegy's core friend group; Elegy's brother Nemo (who is actually the first giant Alison encounters), his boyfriend and Elegy's friend Warren (name pending), Elegy's ex-turned-friend Persephone, and their girlfriend Scarlet who is also Elegy's childhood best friend.

This is a project very near and dear to my heart. It's something that's been nebulously floating around in my head since I was about 17, but which didn't actually begin solidifying into something until last year, as I began solidifying into a person. I can guarantee you it is not going to be a masterpiece. I have zero writing experience, and I only barely count as an artist. But it's a project that serves not only as my primary creative outlet, but the foundation that holds my life together, and so it's something I can't just let go no matter how bad it ends up being. This project could be followed by absolutely nobody, and I'd still be working on it.

Still though, these are the first ever depictions of my girls, and it feels so validating to point and say "THESE ARE THE CHARACTERS THAT WERE IN MY HEAD ALL THIS TIME". It feels easier for me to develop characters if I have a visual reference.

Also none of these drawings were "complete" anyway because I'm a great artist who gets things done in a timely manner.
