Okay, I think this is a sign of me getting old but I think my older brother got me the best Christmas gift ever. It is a coffee machine that you can programme when you want to coffee made into it. So I set it up at night for about 10 minutes after I wake up so by the time I downstairs there is a fresh, hot coffee waiting for me with no effort. I love it so much. Does it make me old that it was the most exciting thing I think I’ve received. Anyway, I’m Lily and I have told everyone about this coffee machine so let’s hope you have much more exciting things going on in your life. @hollyweirdstarters​

Lily my love. There is nothing old about getting excited about a coffee machine. I am always extremely happy and excited when I get things like that. A new vacuum? Yes please. A new dishwasher? Sign me up... oh wait.. maybe that is a sign of getting old. Oh no have I been in denial all this time? But I love that your machine is treating you so well. How are you? How have you been?

I just turned forty one a few weeks ago, and yet I still feel like I was twenty six yesterday, which I definitely was not. The grey hair are coming faster than I can count them, and I know I’m not supposed to pluck them, but I kind of really want to. And maybe I’ve already been doing it. The salt and pepper hair is not for me, I can’t pull it off. Maybe I should just shave it all off, I’ve done that before. Although who knows if it will grow again. What if I were bald? Forty one and bald wouldn’t be a good look on me. Anyways…anything you think I should do in my forties? Maybe I’ll just pretend to be thirty nine forever. Oh my love you are getting so old. I don’t know how you don’t have a head full of the grey hair just yet. What on earth are you ever going to do? Don’t pull the grey hairs out just go colour them. Though if you did go fully grey I think that would be a swell look on you, you’d rock it I’m sure. Don’t go bald we love the hair, it’ll all be alright. Don’t stress and you’ll eventually accept it all.

Oh no I’m sorry to hear that your coach is putting you lads through a hard time. Surely it’s not your fault if you have an off day right? Though I can’t say that I know much about hockey. I’m sure that you guys will eventually get to where you need to be for your next game. But yes enjoy your time off and let your body take joy in doing nothing for a bit. Of course, have to see all of the family and you get twice as many favourite Christmas foods and treats, certainly part of the fun. I’m happy to hear you and the family had such a lovely Christmas, though. I don’t think that’s in the cards for me anytime soon given I’m signed onto some things, but perhaps in the future sometime! It wouldn’t be a bad thing in the least to have some time off, though don’t be surprised if I call you up at first and ask how exactly to do that and not go mad since I’m used to being busy. Perfect opportunity to catch up with family whenever you visit, yeah? Whenever you’re back in the neighbourhood, you’ll have to stop by Lily-Rose and my place for tea. She was born there as well, you two have that in common.

Oh it was a grand old time, I think my brother and I had one of the best years yet. And you and yours had a good time for the holidays? good. you fuckin’ deserve it, especially considering you’ve carried pretty much all of us on your backs for years now as hermione, and then belle. you really are a dream, aren’t you? ooh, the ether of just existing. it’s a great place to be, honestly. i had those thoughts a few years ago and even though i wasn’t able to stay away forever, it was nice to just be jen and not a literal circus exhibit. once this baby’s out of me, only job i’ve got is being a mom, so i just might take you up on that offer! i miss you too, you gorgeous woman. how were your holidays? paris? i cry. eat all the macarons for me.  

Oh hush now. But I wouldn’t trade any of it for anything in the world. I enjoyed being able to portray Hermione and then my favourite Disney princess. So it’s all a win/win for me. You honestly flatter me far too much. Much more than I deserve Jen, you’re gonna gonna have to stop. Once the baby is out of you you’re going to either be coming over or leaving your door unlocked so I can sneak some baby snuggles. You’ll be an amazing mum I know that for a fact. We’ll have a grand time doing nothing. Holidays were swell, spent time with mum than spent time with dad. Can’t complain. How about your holidays? There may or may not be a new song dropping soon. But I can’t tell you for sure. I had that when I finished Hannah Montana I didn’t know who I was and it took me awhile to figure that out. Eventually you do relearn who you are to the point you don’t take anyone’s garbage after the fact. Well the fact that you’ve been in the business since you were a kid, like I have been, we get to say no to things. We don’t have to do everything that’s offered which is a nice blessing. There’s a lot of people that are proud of me and then there’s a lot of people that trash me still to this day. So I’ll take the people that are proud any day of the week. And for what it’s worth, I’m proud of myself too. 

I will be keeping my ear out from here on out. I bet you did, Disney had you under their grasp for a long time with that show but it was probably worth it for it helped you get yourself out there and known right? This is why I enjoy having the long hiatus that I’ve had, it gives me time to just be... well me. Believe me when I say that I’ve enjoyed saying no to a lot of things. Oh I get that I really do, there are many people out there that don’t like the activist work that I do but I still push on because I know there are those that cheer me on. Cheers to that love, cheers to that.

I’m supposed to go film something within the next few months I think so I have time off now that I’m enjoying. Do nothing! Unless you want to give me book recommendations. I’d say I get my talent from my father but I don’t know how accurate that is. Since myself, my dad, and three brothers all have different ways of playing our characters. Eh there were some situations that I didn’t handle the best. Naturally because I can be stubborn. Thankfully I haven’t gotten into any fights lately with people. 

Oh what are you going to be working on? I’ll do nothing for the majority of time with a few things here and there. I can absolutely give you book recommendations, what type of books do you read? You might all have different ways of playing a character but he’s the one that gave you the seed of needing to act, he gave you the passion. Does anyone handle everything perfectly? Of course not, not even me.

I’m so happy to hear that! Just the tone that the holidays should take, being lovely. And it’s always quite nice to have everyone in the family in one location, yeah? Doesn’t always feel like that’s possible throughout the year, not as often as I’d like. With all the years you’ve been working, if anyone’s earned an extended break, it’d be you! I’m always going to root for a Paris vacation for my bias of sharing a place there, but it is quite a beautiful city. Though I’d had no idea you had family who were French!

It was quite lovely, I truly enjoyed it all. Well mum and dad had separate dinners and what not but two Christmas’ wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. You’ll have to take a year or at least a month or two to join me on this little break. But thank you love, I appreciate hearing that I really do. Paris is one of my favourite places so I plan on enjoying the hell out of it. Yes I was actually born there and mum moved to England when I was maybe around five or six years old. My grandparents still live there plus some cousins and aunts and uncles.
