Stepehen smiled at her when she talked about kids knowing best. Ever since having Mavi he felt like a different person. She was the most important thing in his world and her opinion matered more to him then anything. “I would have to agree. I can’t imagine letting anyone into my life without Mavi’s approval.” He shrugged and watched as Mavi started to chase some birds flying nearby. “She enjoys the stunts and action. She’s got one of those nerf bow and arrows she plays with plus the crew is good about letting her run around on the sets we’re not filming on.”

Emily grinned. he seemed like a great father, one who would always put his daughter first. And she admired that. She had great parents, and when she saw others being as attentive she couldn’t help get all warm and fuzzy about it. “That is a great practice to live by. I’m glad to have her stamp of approval.” She grinned, repeating his earlier words. “That must be an adorable sight, her with a mini bow and arrow.”

Now that Amazon uses drones for deliveries, I wonder how much longer it’s going to take for pizza places to start hopping onto the drone wagon. If someone doesn’t invent it within the next year or so, I’m quitting acting and getting into the pizza drone business. I mean, how convenient is it that a drone just drops your pizza off at your front door?You can stay in your natural habitat and not have to worry about interacting with the delivery guy. The perfect solution to every problem in the world, obviously. I’m making it happen. Mark my words.

I feel like the pizza would get all turned upside down and smushed if it was flown by a drone.

Does anyone else stay up late and watch those lame ghost hunter shows on TV? I always watch them and feel completely confident that I could survive the night and make it to dawn with all the bragging rights. Until I try to sleep and suddenly the sound of my refrigerator kicking in keeps me up all night because I’m convinced the dead are coming for me. Apparently, I’m not nearly as tough as I thought I was, no matter how many horror movies I’ve been in. Speaking of horror movies though, has anyone else seen Get Out? And also, could you come hunt my fridge ghost?

I 100% believe in ghosts. Those shows are my jam when I can’t sleep. Of course, I get nightmares of an undead ghost hunting me down a damp tunnel, but it’s worth it. I don’t think I’d be able to make it through Get Out; it looks so incredible but I can’t handle horror movies well.

Stephen laughed, she had a point. They were basically strangers. “You have a point but what better way to turn a stranger into a friend. I mean everyone’s a stranger until you decide they aren’t. Besides you’ve already got the Mavi stamp of approval which is good enough for me.” He smiled, agreeing with her increase. “Ten is probably better. Though it probably depends on Mavi. Not really. Her attention span doesn’t last very long and she’s usually on set while filming.”

Emily shrugged. “You’re right. Honestly if that happens you’ll shoot straight to the top of my friends list. And having a child's stamp of approval is always important, they know best.” She grinned, the statement running exceptionally true for her. Children were the best observers, they knew more than most adults gave them credit for. “Ahh. Makes sense. Seeing people hit with arrows doesn’t sound that fun for a toddler.”

Stephen laughed and blushed just a little at her pointed teasing. “Well at this moment I’m glad for my connections. I’ll make some calls and get the tickets and we can all go to the City and see it. If you don’t mind us tagging along.” He’d just asked her out on a date before he’d even realized what he’d done. He was a little surprised by it but he didn’t regret it. “Yeah Zombies eating people would probably not be the best thing for a three year old. Maybe when she’s eight e’ll revisit the idea.”

Emily stood up with a jump. “Really? Because that would be a fantastic thing for you to do for a stranger.” She grinned, her cheeks growing red. “I would absolutely love that. Besides, I can’t deny Hamilton's biggest little fan to see the show.” She joked, running a hand through her hair. “I’d say ten. When I first got on set I had nightmares for a week. But i’m sure she’d be used to it. Does she watch your show?”

Stephen grinned down at his daughter before looking back at the actress. “You haven’t seen Hamilton yet? That is a terrible thing. I’ll have to make a few calls and see if we can’t change that. Everyone needs to see it at least once. They should do that whole release it in a movie theater thing since tickets are so hard to get.” He watched as Mavi let him go and slowly made her way towards Emily. I’ve never watched the Walking Dead. Doesn’t seem very Kid friendly.”

The blonde shook her head. “I was in Atlanta when it first hit Broadway and ever since I haven’t been able to see it. Always sold out.” She shrugged. “I don’t have the connections some people do to be able to snag tickets.” Emily teased. She nodded, a small laugh escaping her. “Yeah, I don’t think zombies eating brains would be the greatest.” She grinned, kneeling down in front of the little girl. “Right? That’s not the kind of thing you’d like.”

Stephen laughed and let Mavi loose and the girl giggled and waved at the older blonde. “I can probably take the blame for Mavi too. I’m a bit obsessed with Hamilton and she has a whole dance routine to it. when she was a baby I started taking her to the gym with me and so she learned my work out music. I created a little monster but it makes her happy.” there were worse things that Mavi could be into and if she ended up doing something musical or even creative then he would be a proud dad. it was the family business afterall. “I’m Stephen and the tiny blonde is of course Mavi. I think i recognize you. You were on Conviction, right? Mavi and I caught a few episodes on our tv binge days. i try to give her a little bit of everything exposure.” he laughed.

Being a single dad was tough and between filming and his gym schedule it was hard to raise a little girl. He had no idea what he was doing but he tried. He wanted her to grow up well rounded and comfortable to be whatever she wanted to be when she grew up.

Emily grinned, watching the little girl go. She reminded her of herself when she was a toddler, being able to run around carefree without a worry. "Hamilton is a wonderful thing to be obsessed with, even if I haven't seen it yet." She laughed. "Getting her started early, I see. I'm sure she'll thank you when she's older." With a grin she looked back at him. She was surprised that Conviction was where he recognized her from. "Oh, yeah that was me. I'm pretty sure you are the first to mention that and not The Walkijg Dead."

Weekends in LA were some of Stephens favorite times. He loved Vancouver but it was always so cold. He was used to the cold but Mavi was little still and she loved being outside and running around. That wasn’t really something they could do in Vancouver. So bringing her down to La on the weekends so she could play in the parks or in the yard and seeing her happy and laughing made his day. it made all the hard work and travel worth it.

Today they were at the park not too far from his house and Mavi was on the swing and he was pushing her gently. he looked away for a second and suddenly she jumped off the swing and was running away from him. He could hear her laughter and he smiled, letting her get a little ahead of him before chasing after her. He kept her close but let her keep a lead on him as she headed in the direction of a woman sitting in the grass with a guitar. Suddenly he knew where Mavi was heading and managed to grab just before she crashed into the stranger. “Sorry. Mavi is very musically inclined. She must have spotted your guitar and gotten excited.”

It had taken a few minutes, but Emily was able to center herself and relax enough to get what they called her creative juices flowing. Half the time when she wrote in the park without everyone else the songs were junk and just for fun, but it helped when she was able to get in the studio and really write. She didn’t get to do much of it now that she was about to start filming a new show, but she enjoyed it. Even though she was in the zone, she felt a presence coming towards her, something she was able to tune after since The Walking Dead.

She looked up at the voice, a smile coming to her face. “It’s totally okay! No harm done.” She grinned, giving a wave to the little girl. She put her guitar to the side, standing up. “I don’t blame her. When I was a little girl I used to beg my dad to take me to the music store whenever we walked by it.” She shrugged. “I’m Emily by the way.”

People watching was one of Emiliy’s favorite things to do. Granted, she figured some people would find it creepy to have a random person seemingly starring out into space for a long period of time, but for her it was incredibly relaxing. After the whirlwind of adventure she had been having, with traveling to see friends, wardrobe fittings and rehearsals before filming, relaxing was in the calling cards for her.

The park was like a second home to her, a place where she drew inspiration from for her music. And with a day off from being productive, getting back into writing was what she was longing for. It was only a few blocks from her apartment, so it was an easy walk there. With guitar and notebook in hand she became just like everyone else in the park, longing for the peacefulness that came with the screaming of kids and barking of dogs. She sat on the ground, notebook in front of her and guitar on her lap, delving into her mind as she spaced off, hoping inspiration would hit her soon as she watched everyone go about their day.
