Amantaisant (Noun) The feeling of the outside world fading into the background as two people evolve into one mischievous unit that could entertain itself forever simply with the other's company.
You see, in the most obscenely general of terms, I've learned that there is one clear distinction between my good relationships and my forgettable ones. In the forgettable ones, we go out when invited. Whether to a dinner party by a friend or a weekend night by societal expectation, we were out with each other only to fulfill an obligation. But in the good ones, the heart-pounding, evocative, story-inducing ones, we were out for each other. You might see us alone together in the back corner of a bar at midnight on a Tuesday, quietly drunk and laughing into each other's arms. You might see us whirling through your neighborhood, turning street lights into disco balls as our song drifts silently through the air. And you might see us kissing on the subway platform, singing in the backseat of a taxi, or swimming in public fountains.
But we won't see you. In the good ones we're the mischievous lovers, and we've finally learned what together truly means.
