Big Hero 6: Hiro Hamada & Robert Callaghan - Parallels

Hiro and Callaghan are remarkably similar. They’re geniuses.

Into robotics.

Have very few friends. As a result, they’re closer to their family members than other people.

Grief affected them severely.

[Emotional Instability] [Acute Stress Disorder]

Avoided contact and isolated themselves due to their emotional pain.

Assumed secret identities.

Chose revenge.

Turned a robot/robots meant to help people into weapons.

Tried to kill the objects of their revenge with said robots.

Their desire to get revenge mattered more than other people’s well-being/lives. In Hiro’s case, he turned his brother’s healthcare robot into a murder bot (tried to do it again, despite Baymax’s protests), ignored his friends’ well-being in the heat of the moment, and left them on Akuma Island.

Grief and anger.

Thankfully, Hiro’s friends stopped him from making a mistake he would have regretted afterwards. Without them, he could have ended up just like Callaghan.
