Claire actually chuckled as she followed her brother inside, staring down at the back of his head. Wow. It really was like a whole new world up here. How much taller was she? She took a seat on the other side of the counter and watched as Manny worked his magic. “Two, please, over easy,” she answered with a contented smile. “Don’t you know that by now?” It had certainly been long enough. Then again, they hadn’t specifically had breakfast together in quite a while.

“It’s been a while, I wanted to make sure,” Manny laughed softly, letting two eggs float out of the carton to be prepared. Another pan flew out of a cabinet and landed on another stove corner. He repeated the same process with his powers after he turned that corner on, spreading butter over the pan surface while he telekinetically prepped three eggs for himself before sending the carton back into the fridge. With both eggs ready and bread in the toaster for both of them, Manny stepped back and guided the bowls with both hands over each of the pans, pouring them inside to start cooking. The dishwasher popped open and the bowls found their places on the bottom shelf while he turned on the toaster. “So, how are you handling all this?” he asked, glancing back at his sister. “Besides the fact that you’re taller than I am by two inches.”
"Yeah, it has been," Claire conceded with a small smile. So she missed her dorky dumb brother sometimes. Big whoop! After all the shit they'd hurdled in the last few years, who could blame her? At least, that was Claire's excuse. She sat back and watched as Manny orchestrated the kitchen with ease. At his question, she shrugged. "It's weird as hell, obviously. But it's not the end of the world or anything. I mean, it was definitely a problem when I woke up like this, but other than that..." she met his eyes again, raising an eyebrow. It was weird as HELL to know it was Manny in that body. But in some strange way, it looked about right.

Claire took deep breaths, feeling all her muscles tighten in apprehension. She was genuinely surprised when he asked her a question instead of just attacking. Well, he’d gotten what he wanted. She was off her game for sure, and unsure what to expect. “Join you?” She repeated, raising her eyebrows. “You’re killing people. Destroying the city.” She shook her head, clearly thrown. “Do you even have a goal, or is this just fun for you?”
Every step he took scoured the pavement. With every breath, Claire's chest tightened in fear and fury. Her jaw clenched and she fought a strong urge to wind up and punch him as hard as she could. She was smarter than that. Although making the first move was probably a good idea with a Meta this powerful, she couldn't bring herself to invite danger upon herself. She was already in far too close for comfort. "This city?" She repeated incredulously, standing her ground. "This city didn't do shit to you. One person- You- You're destroying a city over one person's actions?" She stopped short of a full sentence, trying to wrap her head around this. "You're psychotic, Uriel. There is no "new order." There's just a couple crazy bastards wreaking havoc." Her mouth was moving faster than her mind and she didn't quite realize what she was saying until it was out. Did that make sense? Was it threatening? Shit, I'm dead meat either way, aren't I?

He looked her over and Claire’s mouth twisted into a frown. She stepped inside past her brother and suddenly realized she was looking down at him. Whoa. The last time she looked down at Manny, they were decorating her college dorm in freshman year. “Yeah, I could eat. I kind of ran right here after I saw the news. It was a big morning,” she said, a little entranced. “Manny, I’m taller than you.”

“Yeah, by like two inches, oh my god, calm down,” Manny huffed, sticking his tongue out at Claire as he led her into the kitchen of his apartment. It was weird having to look up even just a little bit at his younger sister, and he didn’t like it. He also knew she’d get a kick out of it since she was usually so much shorter than he was. He glanced around the kitchen, mapping out everything he knew he needed. With a soft exhale, he raised his hands at his sides, and cabinet doors opened up, allowing a bowl to float out of it to the island counter. A pan flew out from underneath the sink and settled itself on top of the stove. Another flick of Manny’s wrist had the fridge door flying open with a carton of eggs, a stick of butter, and leftover bacon in tinfoil levitated out towards the counter. He held up two hands while he turned to the stove, the contained butter landing in his left while the lid of the container hovered over it, and a butter knife from the silverware drawer slid into his right as he closed his fingers around it. Behind him, the carton of eggs popped open, a couple of the eggs inside it floated upwards while he cut a small pad of butter to smear on the surface of the pan once he turned on the stove. “How many eggs do you want and how would you like them?”

Claire was running, sprinting, full speed ahead through the city, light on her feet and pumped full of that steroid to enhance her powers. She was definitely feeling it. A few blocks back, she’d realized she was feeling everything ten times the normal distance away. She could feel her brother from here and she had to get to him. A few more blocks back, she had noticed there was a red glow in her vision and had discovered her fear and fury and turmoil had kept up a force field around her. She’d switched it off, but it kept coming back, thicker. This drug really worked, apparently. And so did her powers. A burst of energy slammed through a wall in front of her and her defense system knocked her backwards when she hit it, but kept her safe. She was okay. She was freaking out, but she was okay. “Oh, shit,” she muttered to herself, darting around the corner of a building. She flattened her back to a wall, taking deep breaths as the Nephilim did exactly what she was hoping he wouldn’t. Seen her. Noticed her. Knew she was there. She hoped desperately that she could just hide, but she knew it wouldn’t end well. She had to get to Manny. She had to get away. She began to slip around the other side of the building, hoping she could avoid his gaze and he would convince himself no one had been there after all. Maybe it just might work. And then she turned the corner and realized two things: one, she had turned the wrong way. She was face to face with this monster who was murdering her friends and destroying her home. Two, she knew him. She recognized him, more accurately. She had bumped into him on the street randomly and they’d struck up a conversation. And now he was here. A very powerful Meta. Ready to kill her.

While the destruction and subjugation of the city was Uriel’s first and foremost goal, he couldn’t help but enjoy the chance to really let his powers go for a change. He’d given the city and its inhabitants more than enough warnings, now it was time to pay the piper. They would learn not to fuck with him and his.
The figure that had darted around the corner of a building seemed familiar to Uriel, as if he had seen her before. That wasn’t really all that surprising, he’d met a number of metas in the city, mostly during his incursions to find people worthy of admittance. He paused a moment in wreaking havoc to see just what this other person was going to do. When she darted out and charged right at him he was almost surprised, chuckling as he recognized who it was that he had seen. “Well hello Claire. I knew there was something special about you. HAve you come to join me then?”

Claire noticed he kept that little smile and crossed her arms, watching him. She didn’t know what the hell to think about him. “Not wrong, just… what about me was intriguing?” She questioned him, still skeptical.

Uriel shrugged his shoulders as the woman crossed her arms and stared at him. He couldn’t help his amusement. He knew that he often creeped people out with his intensity, it was an aura that he cultivated after all. “Are you unused to people paying attention to you? Or do you consider yourself unworthy of others interest?”
Claire wrinkled her nose suddenly, miffed. Why did he have to answer her question with a question? It was unnerving, to say the least. And all the while she felt him... laughing at her. Amused. "Neither," she answered flatly. "I think it's weird that a stranger would think it was okay to bump into a girl and tell her she's 'intriguing'."

Claire was still freaked out. Hours after she’d realized she was… like this and some friends around the base had panicked on their own and someone finally explained what the hell was happening, she was still freaked out. It wasn’t that she felt very different, but that was why she was uncomfortable. Shouldn’t this feel different? She was wrapped up in her thoughts all the way to Manny’s apartment, even when she knocked on his door. Hearing a very feminine voice answer startled her right out of it. The door swung open and… He knew her. Wow, Manny made a really pretty girl… Claire didn’t know what to say. She cleared her throat and heard that deeper voice pour out of her mouth, hands shoved in her pockets like she could protect herself from this weirdness in her jacket. “This is the weirdest thing ever.”

“Yeah, you’re telling me,” Manny snorted, give his sister a quick once over. Obviously it seemed the Henderson genes were strong with them no matter what sex they were, since Claire made a pretty good-looking guy. He did visibly grimace as he noticed she was now taller than he was by just a few inches. He moved aside from the door, gesturing for his sister to come inside his apartment. “Thank god it’s temporary, right? You want some breakfast? I was just about to start making some eggs ‘n’ shit.”
He looked her over and Claire’s mouth twisted into a frown. She stepped inside past her brother and suddenly realized she was looking down at him. Whoa. Manny had just gotten used to the fact that he’d somehow swapped sexes over night. Well, almost. The…different parts and height were certainly disorienting even hours after waking up this morning. Thankfully, he’d stolen a t-shirt and pants from Hayden from the moment, and he was so glad she’d spent the night yesterday. He would have had a breakdown if he’d woken up like this all alone. It wasn’t too long after the initial freaking out that they heard C.A.R.M.A’s news announcement about the, uh, situation apparently most of Pansaw was experiencing.
The psionic was getting ready to make himself some breakfast when he heard a knock at his apartment door. “Coming!” he called, clearing his throat out of habit when he spoke in his strange and unfamiliarly feminine voice. He padded over to the door, and opened it to a strange young man. Manny squinted for a second, and then his eyes went wide and jaw dropped when he heard the familiar thoughts racing through his sister’s head. “Oh god, Claire Bear? Not you too.”
