Organically re-creating crime scenes caused a shift in his own sanity, so it became relatively easy for Dr. Hannibal Lecter to take advantage of such distractions. After ensuring that Will was on the verge of collapse, Lecter then managed to frame him for the deaths of several people, most notably being their own ward, Abigail Hobbs. Her alleged death spurred him on to capture Hannibal, but the results proved disastrous. Currently, Will is attempting to bring Lecter to justice.
